ALL: What male character would be right for a Down-Low storyline?

The soon to be gone Passions did it for apparent laughs with characters Chad and Vincent. I'd like to see the Down-Low tale done from a more serious standpoint. What male character might be good for such a story? I originally thought Holden from ATWT, but he's recently cheated on Lily with Carly. I now think that Y&R's J.T. would be perferct for such a tale. He cheats on Victoria with some hot guy which would ultimately ruffle Victor's feathers BIG TIME!!!! Any ideas?

I dont know Vanguardian. But I sure love this topic. :D OLTL had one with Nora and her husband, Daniel?? Daniel was having an affair with younger man(ex-Adam Hughes..ATWT).

How about Tom Hughes and Holden Synder?...hehe...just thought of that one. ;)

But with who?.... :P:lol:

It should be a hyper-masculine guy who is always "on" with the ladies...for obvious reasons. This is a man who is over-compensating.

So, in that spirit, my first nominee that comes to mind is Y&R's Brad Carlton. Or B&B's Ridge Forrester. Or GH"s Sonny Corinthos. Or AMC's Ryan Lavery or Aiden Devane.

It's almost a shame that they killed off Nikki's husband David Chow because I would've DEFINITELY placed him on the Down-Low with Brad. Brad had devious intentions where David was concerned, so much to the point that I could've seen him bedding David for his own selfish purposes.

Well Down Low is usually a term used exclusively for black men and can be both a single black man or a married black man - it just originated because of a black man keeping his sex with a man on the down low.

There's never been a term created to describe a white married man that does this.

But that is all beside the point.

With the current histories of most of the long term men on Soaps screwed up it would be hard to do one with a current guy, but there are many I would love to see in them - Holden Snyder or Josh Lewis both for one.

Even though he is not married now but I would love to see one with Thorne Forrester too. thorne has always had trouble with women and keeping one - maybe that is because secretly he is gay.

I also feel that many of the soaps could do it with the return of a long time couple that has been off the show for awhile.

Frannie Hughes on ATWT would be perfect. She could have married and her new husband is on the down low. She was on the show a few years back so there are still some fans who know her, plus it would involve the Hughes family.

On AMC, it could easily be done with Tara Jefferson by putting her and Jim back together and it finally being revealed that their troubles were because Jim was on the down low.

    • She did have a thing with him in the late '90s, before she inexplicably disappeared with no mention as to why, although I can't remember if they had sex.
    • I don't believe she did. She did sleep with Simon, believing he was a Spaulding.
    • -- If I ever get sick, please don't send me to Garland Memorial. That hospital is a YIKES. -- Soooo much activity around the main nurses' desk. Do they move dead people on a gurney past that desk, too? -- 8 months for Bill to recover from a "small stroke"? Uh....I don't think so. Is anyone researching this stuff? The hospital stuff is not coming off as realistic. -- It's good that Derek and Ashley are being integrated into other stories, but it's a real stretch to say Leslie was "stalking" Ashley. It makes Derek seem dumber than we already think he is. -- Ashley spends a lot of time having small talk while she's at work. -- Chelsea is embarrassing. Period. -- Tomas is supposed to pick up the slack for Bill, but he has time to have worthless conversations with Leslie? OK then. -- Kat is destroying the case against Leslie, but that's clearly the way to keep Leslie on the canvas.
    • 6-3   I almost let my system just delete the episode just like with B&B. I am now questioning if I should have. lol.   I just can't believe that Cole sat there and started to get sick and then only Victoria off and ran off and everyone basically went back to what they were doing at Nikki's birthday party. Cole was too much of a vet character for that. And now story back off-screen.   I did chuckle at how much Victor pay Kyle dust. And now Kyle with this deal and a promise to leave town if he hurts Claire. smh. As if Victor isn't going to make that happen.   It was lovely to see Ashley. And actually (misdressed and all) Abby.    And I liked Claire's dress.
    • Oh. That. I pretend that never happened.

I did think of another possibility. Did India ever sleep with Alan? They kind of toyed with pairing them up, but I'm not sure they ever became lovers.
    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
