Members SoapDope
I never knew Kathy Bates was on The Doctors. She appears at the 6:24 mark Please register in order to view this content
Members amybrickwallace
Yes, she was on the show in summer 1978. She played Phyllis, a friend of Sara's from the Peace Corps. Phyllis was a bridesmaid in Sara and Mike's wedding.

Members jam6242
Not exactly about The Doctors, but the rep for TD/Retro TV said on FB that Procter & Gamble told them that they are no longer licensing their shows. Guess Retro was looking to possibly add more soaps. Please register in order to view this content Thanks for the clip @DRW50. JP looks better in that than he did during his last few years on The Doctors.
Members ~bl~
Disappointing that they tried and failed trying to think of something else they could look into adding. Not sure what I think that accent that JP was trying to do any ideas?
Members Chris 2
Seems silly for P&G to sit on assets like that and not use them, but I’m sure they have their reasons. Retro should go get Ryan’s Hope or Santa Barbara. Or how about the early years of “Days of Our Lives” (the entire run of that show exists, in color, in the Sony vaults).

Members DRW50
Generic Eurotrash, probably. Thanks for the news @jam6242 . At this point I think we just have to hope they won't junk their archives.
Members Paul Raven
The Doctors is unique in that it was long running and independently owned by CP. The only other long running shows are either P&G, ABC or Sony and none of them seem interested in licensing their shows. The only other posssibilities are 20th Century Fox who produced Return to Peyton Place and Best of Everything and Metromedia? How to Survive a Marriage. That's if the shows have been kept and they were willing to let them be shown. Of course they were fairly short runs so Retro may not be interested. Capitol is another possibility- I wonder who owns the rights?
Members DRW50
I guess they could try Rituals or The Catlins. (oh wait, did P&G do those too?)
