Does anyone know how old Pamela Toll was around 1968? I think she is one of the finest actresses on the show. I still can't get over the scene from the December episode were she was crying in her apartment because of Nick.

She was 19 in 1968, terribly accomplished as an actress for such a young age. She possessed native talent.

Yes, I hope you don't mind - saynotoursoap. That was the only episode I could find her in.

Of course not, Monika. I am so pleased that you put it to good use!

Why didn't she do anything else? I do wish that soaps would find actors of this talent again, then again, I think someone of this range at THAT age is a one-in-a-million.

ABW...That is so wonderful!!! La Hubbard(La Walsh before I saw these Doctors episodes, as well as my vivid memories of her in the short term Estelle Chadwick on OLTL) is phenomenal. You must be so pumped!!!!!!!!!!! You are such a kind person, I'm happy that these Daytime icons have been responding to you!

Thank you for posting these, jam!! Ironically, I sent out the letter and photos to Liz in the same day's mail as the ones to Jennifer Houlton - April 14th. Both responded very quickly!!

How the show spent most of 1968 slowly bring nick and Althea.back together.. makes me wish that bold and the beautiful did that for Bill and Katie instead of just having.them reunite and remarry in a three week span.

Shows nowadays do need to operate at a faster pace but not so.fast that all the beats are missed.

I do think a character like Carolee wouldn't exist nowadays or she would be written as pathetic. This show proves that.you can feature a good girl character like Carolee but still.have her be interesting and not pathetic nor boring.

Most of the characters on The Doctors are basically good people. Even Karen, although very neurotic, is not evil. Townsend is the closest to a villain but he obviously is mentally ill.

No, as there were articles by the start of the next decade or the end of this one about his being single or looking for love.

No, they divorced sometime in 1969 or 1970. He remarried years later to an actress/writer named Nancy McCormick, and they were together until his passing in 2001 (per his obit in the NY Times).
