Thanks for the video, YRWorldTurner. I can't say I'm overly looking forward to 'Branning week'. It looks like they're setting Derek up in competition with Phil, which instantly puts me off the storyline. The Branning brothers are a farce. Sperminator Jack should have been axed long ago yet they kep him in the show, he's just awful and serves no purpose.

And Derek looks like the sort of character the show really does not need right now. At the moment we have the awful Michael Moon, Janine, who's a great villain but being misused at the moment, Yusef, et al...

I was glad when I heard that they were bringing back Derek, I just think it's a shame he's this gangster type. Carol is brilliant, and Lynsey Coulson deserves more from the show than this.

I'm glad to hear that Lucy's finally been re-cast. I think the Lauren and Ben re-casts have worked well.

He's great in these. I loved the one he did with Nina when they were in Saturday Night Fever. And the jazz hands and fawning when Michelle and Alfie were singing in Eastend Street or whatever it was called.

Rita Symons has a better voice than I realized.

It's a bit behind, but I'd like to hear anyone's feedback.

I really enjoyed Zoe Lucker's Vanessa Gold and was wondering if anyone else thought her exit fabulous? Broke, alone, dumped on the side of the wet road with the police looking for her. I thought Zoe was tremendous on EastEnders and would love to see her back, I can tell you I think she'd be the best landlady for the Queen Vic, I'm not feeling the Moons at all in that role.

And lest we forget Vanessa's greatest scene...Bubbly's in the fridge...

I dare say that with Peggy gone, Pat exiting...Albert Square needs a ballsy blond. Vanessa could be it!

I never understood what happened with Vanessa. They had a real chance with her, but it never went anywhere. The same happened with Glenda. I guess at least she never ended up with Phil.

I did like the last second where she tried to get her dignity together, and walked down the road.

It's funny because people often say the women on Eastenders are too dominant and the men are too weak. While the men may be weak, the women aren't too strong these days either.

Anything rather than the atrocious Max/Tanya pairing. I've still no idea why they went down that road again!

P.s. That video made me realise how much I love the current cast! Who was missing?: Tanya, Janine, Phil, Ben...?

    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
    • Well, depending on rewrites...Jennifer Richards potentially slept with Brandon and Alan. It does feel like we're forgetting someone, but then again, maybe I'm confusing that with brothers, which would include a lot more.
    • Maybe it’s me, and the fact that RC isn’t at the helm, but since Cwikly and Ford have taken over I’ve noticed the show doing a lot of things differently directing wise, and since the storyline of John’s demise began, the show has been using different scores, and dare I say better ones than this time last year. It’s interesting and I wonder if the any of it is Noel Maxam’s influence before being promoted.
    • I think Nicole is about to figure out what's going on between Andre and Dani.
    • @Efulton thank you. I don't know how I missed it or didn't recall it.  I'll blame amnesia . Anyway @Errol Could the newer thread be merged to the existing? Thanks in advance.
    • I just finished watching and I have to admit, not once did I find myself wondering who wasn't there. Quick question for anyone who followed this better than I did: was it only Andrew who rescued Cat and John from Clyde, or was Shane involved too? The reactions during their scenes today felt a little off to me. I know it was meant to be vague, but I didn't find it strange that they already knew each other.
    • Yeah, financially, Luna is in better shape than Deacon and Sheila.   -- Scott Clifton must have decided to chew the scenery in every scene of this "Liam is Dying" storyline. Yikes.
    • If J.R. wasn't busy with Ewing Oil, he'd be a heckuva soap recapper. He was SO gleeful at recapping Jenna-Bobby-Pam when the trio and Mark encountered each other at the Oil Baron's Ball. That being said, Lucy, presumably Sue Ellen and maybe Ray should all know this story, or at least part of it. Lucy was definitely at Southfork during Jenna and Bobby's relationship, and I believe Sue Ellen was about to marry J.R. around the time Jenna jilted Bobby. (Ray might not have given a damn.)
