If you mean she wound Storm up and got him stalking Ash...and equating that to Steph's actions in Brooke's rape...sorry, not buying that. Brooke knew Storm. Steph didn't know crappola about Andy. Brooke had reason to believe Storm was dealing with his issues. After Ridge and Brooke separated, Steph continued to push her self-righteous agenda, thinking that Brooke's next lay would keep her out of Ridge's life. Yeah, Brooke wanted Ash away from Ridge, but at least she also cared enough about Storm to want him to get out and meet someone. Steph's actions were purely malicious and self-serving. Brooke's motives, while not pure, at least took other's feelings into account. And honestly, if Ridge hadn't told Ash about Storm shooting Steph, I'm not sure he would have boiled over the way he did. Storm saw it as another example of Forrester interference.

Brooke said the other day thats Stom's life was spinning out of ctonrol and that he had issues. Did she just realize this? After he killed himself? Or was it after he tried to kill Stephanie? Its been obvious for some time and well before Brooke had him go after Ashley to keep her away from Ridge. I do think Brook's intentions were malicious and self-serving. I honestly dont think she is reasponsable for what happened, but i also dont think Steph is for brooke's rape. They both set the actions in motion but nither is really responsable, IMHO.

Ridge had EVERY right to tell Ashley about Storm trying to murder stephanie. Katie had every right to to react the way she did when she saw what she did, esp since she knows Stporm has already tried to shoot someone to death, and not that ling ago.

I cant beleive Donna is going through with the wedding. I know I couldnt have and would need some personal time to grieve for my brother and process everything that happened. I couldnt take being happy and smiles in front of everyone after everthing that just happened but then again, people deal with pain in different ways

To me, what Brooke did with Storm and Ashley is on the same lines of what she accused Stephanie of doing to her with Andy. Storm was sick and disturbed, yet she forced him on Ashley, in order to keep her away from Ridge

I don't understand why Brooke is suddenly "at fault" and "the cause" of Storm's suicide. She encouraged Storm to date Ashley because 1. she wanted Ash away from Ridge and 2. she totally trusted Storm. She assumed everything was fine with him again, that he was back to being the same old Stormy who looks after his crazy sisters and gets a ribbing from them once in a while. It was clear the way she talked to him about Ashley and Ridge that she was confiding in him as she had always done. She did not sic "crazy Storm" on Ashley in the hopes that he would stalk or rape her! And she certainly could not have predicted the chain of events that followed.

Unlike Stephanie who knew Andy would "take advantage" of Brooke. Taking advantage being a euphemism for sexual assault.

And in a weird way, I don't think Storm was anywhere near as sick and disturbed as Andy the Rapist.

Wooo Pam is back (although I think the water-spraying dream was a little much). And they got Kristin back. TLM gets her once every six months appearance. Everybody looks great for the wedding. I'm glad (and surprised) they threw in that bit about Caroline.

I never said that Brooke was at fault for Storm's suicide and I dont think that at all. I just dont want to hear her or her sisters get down on Stephanie for the pushing Andy towards Brooke when she did a similiar thing here with Storm and Ashley. Thats all.

Those events were not that similar. Stephanie encouraged a complete stranger she met at a bar into Brooke's life. All that mattered to her was that he had a penis. Brooke at least knew Storm wasn't a complete psycho.

I didn't have a problem with Ridge telling Ash...I only meant that it triggered a reaction from Storm.

Fabulous episode today. Lots of tension during the wedding and lots of bickering and bitchiness at the reception. Loved it when Stephen told off Felicia, Thorne and Kirsten. La Flannery was truly fantastic as she looked at the house and had that monologue--and a great use of a flashback. Poor Ashley on the other hand--she just wanted to help, but didn't she know what Katie's reaction would be? God Heather Tom SO deserves an Emmy for this.

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
