MOTHER OF A SHOCKER ON B&B

The upcoming marriage of The Bold and the Bautiful's Eric and Donna (John McCook and Jennifer Gareis) has trouble written all over it--and not just because he's a hotshot magamogul and she's an inflatable bimbo doll. After the "I do's" on May 9, we will learn that the bride has a secret past she has not shared with her new hubby. "When Donna was 16, she had a baby and gave it up for adoption," says B&B chief Brad Bell. "The identity of the dad, who is black, is going to remain a mystery for a while." But the product of the union--now a strapping young nam named Marcus--will soon arive in L.A. in search of Donna. The role will be played by fright-flick fave Texas Battle ("Final Destination 3, Wrong Turn 2: Dead End"). Yep, Bell plans to play the race card--mildly anyway. When Marcus first shows up at Eric and Donna's mansion, she assumes that he's with the staff adn sends him to the kitchen.

I remember him from OTH .... 16 year old mother or not, isnt he a little old for Jennifer Gareis?

"The identity of the dad who is black" -- if this was actually written to be a decent story, the race of the character wouldn't mean a damn when it came to tipping off the press. What a crass comment.

I'm all for adding diversity and the story in itself isn't necessarily bad but casting a far too old actor and then angling for a Nobel prize because he's not caucasian doesn't make me want to get on board.

This is the second African American member of a core family.

Remember Kristen's son Zenze.

I'm wondering if by some circumstance the child will turn out to Charlie's? So far they have played no recognition.

This is a bit of a retread of Amber's "Usher" storyline.

Anyway...a core Logan who is African American could finally help the show out with its' diversity problem.

My fear is that this will be another character introduced for 13 weeks, then dropped.

This has lots of potential, but where does this spoiler come from? "Search" is mispelled. I would hope that Charlie Baker IS the father. Mykel is very sexy, very talented and very wasted.

That was a typo. I just corrected it and this is from the May 5-11 edition of TV Guide.

He's gorgeous but a good ten years too old for this part. Jennifer Gareis should be insulted.

And I like how B&B tries to incorporate black people but always fails at it.
