I love Linda Dano, but the whole arc was a very odd choice which showed how out of touch Angela Shapiro was with fans. Most ABC viewers had never heard of Rae and if they knew Linda Dano it was probably through QVC or seeing her in the Daytime Emmys. There are some characters who did go from soap to soap and charmed fans, like Myrtle (did they even mention Rae or Skye when Myrtle died???), but Rae was not one of them. I remember her AMC stint in particular getting a lot of viewer negativity.

Thank you! They did that with Eve, too?! It always made me laugh how Rae knew she'd had a child but didn't seem to have any clue what decade said child had even been born in, let alone its gender, birth date, or anything else.

This was criticized a lot at the time. The daughter in question ended up being 10-15 years older than some of the possible choices. It would have made more sense if Rae's maternal backstory had just recreated this game:

Ha! I remember it was like… Gina Tognoni’s Kelly, James DePaiva’s Max, Robin Christopher’s Skye, apparently Eve, and god knows who else. What an unhinged storyline.

Can anyone confirm if Skye or Rae were even mentioned when Myrtle died on AMC?

Seriously, they could've had Linda/Rae just pop up all over the damn network looking for her kid.  ("Tonight, on 'The Drew Carey Show'....")

I think the only stunt worse than the one for Linda/Rae was the time CBS devoted an entire night's programming to Liz Taylor and her missing jewels.

I very vaguely recall Louise Sorel's character. Nothing else about her.

The Rae thing was so idiotic. I've talked about it a lot. I could not believe she went from show to show asking if everyone from Eve to Kelly to Max could be her child when they had 10-20 years apart in age.

Shapiro's Folly, didn't it end up being Skye? The most ludicrous possible was Max, of course, with him being a guy not a gal.

BTW, I asked one of those HWs what they all thought about doing that? She expressed that they all effing hated every single minute of having to write Rae into their "swear words" stories!!! I laughed so hard at the strong way she said this.

LOL. NBC did a similar with Betty White in like ‘87 or ‘88, hence White popping up on AW as some long lost love interest of Mac’s, and then some additional random roles on SB and Days as some campaign.

The difference with that, though, is that Betty just did cameos, as opposed to impacting the storyline. The AW one is especially funny, since she obviously didn't go to Brooklyn. They just inserted footage of Betty on the phone with Mac.

One bright side of the Donatella Stewart storyline, seeing Lynn Herring and Louise Sorel interact again.

His social media/IMDb doesn't have his age but from some posts he's made, I'm guessing 1989 is his birth year.
    • Here's the timeline, as I recall it being published. The WGA strike was 5/2–9/27/2023 Annalynne McCord was announced as being hired in December 2023, for a one-year contract https://deadline.com/2024/06/days-of-our-lives-when-to-expect-annalynne-mccord-peacock-1235975806/ RonC's first scripts back from the strike began airing May 31, 2024 (around Konstantine & Maggie's wedding) https://www.tvinsider.com/1137709/days-of-our-lives-writers-return-15000th-episode-storylines/ Her first air date was June 19th 2024. The actress has said she was not told who she would be playing until she started taping. RonC 's replacements were announced July 2024, with his scripts airing through April 2025 Side note: DAYS social media team seems to be playing fast and loose with BTS videos, in terms of how far in advance they film content, so we shouldn't assume anyone's current status, versus those who were there nine months ago.
    • April and her husband (Draper) are the "young leads" who tie all the storyline threads together.  They're normally in the center of the action.  In this particular storyline, Draper is the attorney who represents Paige Madison.  (The district attorney, Logan Swift, has given Paige Madison "temporary immunity from prosecution" if she will lead the police to the members of the Tobias Gang who stole the firearms.  But Paige mainly just ducks bullets from various gang members who pop-up to assassinate her.)
    • It's one thing to post about a soap's rumors or gossip, which in point of fact we've all done. It's another to present yourself as the inside source who knows something to be fact that's about to break wide, then backtrack and call it just Twitter speculation. Between those two extreme poles you have to commit to one or the other. If I got something wrong, I'd say it. (Nor would I keep playing insider after what I pulled with Drake Hogestyn, which should've gotten someone permanently banned.) And regardless, you don't open with this 'news' you don't actually want to stand by yet by mocking DRW's extremely valid concerns re: how the Trina character and Tabyana Ali has been marginalized and put out to virtual pasture ever since the day NAC left. Her playing out her current contract in a C-storyline with Kai does not change that.
    • Yeah, I thought it would be more explosive or heated and it was kind of standard.  Both can do more with the material.  I just don't think the writing was there.
    • Daphnée and TMG are on Instagram live (as we speak) and are saying they don’t know why Maurice left.
    • Anita let SilkPress know what time it was!
    • Kat vs. Eva and Anita vs. Leslie were today's highlights.
    • TBF, the majority of Month 2 was them beefing up all the side-stories...mind you Duprees as well as non-Duprees...and it did not seem like people were taking to it as well as they were taking to stories in Month 1. If anything I feel (hope) that May Sweeps is going to shift...while dealing with the aftermath of the Nicole/SilkPress storyline...to the next big story aka Martin's Secret. But that's me hoping that Martin's meltdown over SilkPress jiggles some memories of his out...which I was already hoping would happen. Add on that Bill is involved in both stories now...that might be his way of being sure nothing happens to him now in light of SilkPress's antics.    And...same. I feel they did a better job than expected with Vanessa/Doug with me because I didn't even realize how invested I was until their talk at the hospital and Doug made that subtly blunt comment about their arrangement...making the various online discussions online real. And for me, relevant.
