In my mind Cruz dumped eden after he reunited with her off screen in favor of julia. Cruz & Julia should have been explored when Eden was written out. Pairing with eden's sister was a dumb move. Didnt Kelly already pick Eden's sloppy second with this Barr guy?

I didnt get to watch some of the stuff towards the end becuz my local station which broadcast the show in french decided not to air the last couple of seasons so I only watched some later stuff on yt so im unfamiliar with the show towards the end of its run.

I remember getting so mad becuz they stopped broadcasting with no warning and left most of the storylines that were on-going unresolved. Santa Barbara was a huge hit in Quebec. Loving too. Which has always been fascinating to me. I imagined they would have both been a hit in the US.

Roscoe Born portrayed Jim Thomasen on ALL MY CHILDREN. Originally, he was a passenger on the same plane crash that "killed" Dr. Maria Santos (Eva La Rue, "C.S.I.: Miami"). He became acquainted with Brooke English, played by Julia Barr. AMC's writers even hinted at a romantic relationship between the two. (Or maybe that was just my impression? I must admit, this was during one of those post-early-'90's periods when I wasn't following the show as much.) However, Born abruptly quit the show after he got word of Jim's Big Dark Secret: back in NYC, he was a kiddie porn photographer, and one of his "subjects" just happened to be Brooke's adopted daughter, Laura Kirk English, then played by Lauren E. Roman. Born told the soap press he left b/c he himself was a father to a young girl and not only did he find the notion of portraying a pedophile too much, it also wasn't what he had signed on the dotted line for either.

I can't recall off-hand whether Jim and Liza's paths ever crossed. It's possible they did, since the story at that time was that the crash was caused due to corporate negligence on the part of Liza's husband, Adam Chandler (David Canary). By the time Brooke shot Jim Thomasen dead, however, Jim, now played by David Forsyth (ex-John, ANOTHER WORLD; ex-Hogan, SEARCH FOR TOMORROW; ex-T.J., TEXAS; ex-Burke, AS THE WORLD TURNS), had been outed not just as someone who had abused Laura years before, but also as the one who had actually engineered the crash.

What a disgusting storyline. Glad Roscoe borne decided to walk. I usually hate when actors pull "crap" like that but in that case I applaud him.

At the risk of sidetracking this thread who was writing at the time? Was it mcTavish? I cant believe they even imagined such a horrible storyline.

    • Yes and I also loved how she focused on Chelsea and Naomi when she spilled Bill's involvement in all of this.
    • Danny: Don't drink it. Just hold it. Rocco drinks three laced cups.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
