Outstanding Drama Series & Outstanding Writing/Directing Team

I am so totally uninspired by all of the noms for best drama, Daytime was a hot mess this year, and I don't think any one show stands head or shoulders over the other: however, that being said there are some improvements coming: OLTL will have an awesome summer and I can see some flashes of brilliance over at B&B but, speaking of this past year, I dont think any show has been outstanding at all... but GH will likely win cause they produce 2 emmy episodes each year and rob those who try to keep the production value up all year long.

Whatever, I have absolutely ZERO stake in what happens... most of the noms this year are garbage.. but then again it's been a garbage year.

GH got their nod for the Metro Court hostage storyline.

GL got their nod for the 70th anniversary episode where Beth Ehlers was Irna Phillips and Kim Zimmer was Charia Bauer--it was powerful, also for the Tammy's death storyline which propelled this show to its finest in writing and acting.

OLTL got their nod for Asa's funeral storyline.

Y&R's nod should've went to B&B for the Susan Flannery/Betty White storyline.

DAYS was kicking butts toward the end of 2007 so the entire year was quite underwhelming. Passions and AMC was a joke to even be considered. ATWT was underwhelming with the high turnover of cast members and the lack of Noah/Luke storyline.

No writing or directing nod for DAYS!!! F-U-C-K!!

I know right. I was expecting Days to get directing atleast.

I think GL's win last year may have prolonged it from cancellation, I was glad for that cause I still think it can be saved, I mean it even tied so that goes to tell you it was a mercy give. but - this year i dont think they earned it.

If GL submitted these episodes for Drama Series and Writing....They will have emmy gold because these 2 shows were BRILLIANT! Mark my words that GL will bring home emmys for these shows because it shows warmth, humor and tragedy= DRAMA! :D

I can't believe I'm hoping that Y&R loses the big awards. But I can't stomach the idea of LML winning.

OLTL for Drama

B&B for Writing

Watch them not win. Ugh.

IA. Although I don't think EW/DK deserve to even be nominated, if these were the epsiodes that they submitted - EW is very clever. They were terrific shows, both of them. However, the rest of the year was a trainwreck.

I think GL will win Best Show again this year. They did submit the 70th Anniversary Episode and Tammy's Funeral episode, which I think were the 2 best episodes they produced last year.

If the voters went for emotional human drama, then GL should win for Tammy's death alone.

However, Emmy voters have shown that they adore big stunts, which GH is famous for. If GH submitted anything from The Hostage Crisis, they'll have the best chance of winning. They previously won with the Hotel Fire (2005) and the Train Wreck (2006). Also, The Hostage Crisis was arguably more buzzed about and technically better in some cases.

It has a shot. Those were the last good GL episodes.
