I am glad this murder mystery is overwith. And I'm sorry, but IMHO Ryan couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. Though I liked seeing Lily, Lucinda and Holden get more screentime. I'm also glad this Lily/Holden breakup drama seems to be coming to an end. So at least something good came out of that storyline.

Chris was a dick to Bob right before he had his stroke and there is no excuse for that, but I'm really glad to see that he wasn't actually involved in trying to make Bob sick.

I thought the first two scenes with Luke and Noah were kind of fun (but very unexpected), however I liked the last part the best.

Somebody ought to slap Lily. At least when she lost Worldwide, Lucinda knew it was because of the pill popping. Evan didn't announce that he would murder anyone who stood in his way, and La Walsh is always a thorough business woman, so there's no way she would know he was a wacko.

It was great seeing all the vets today. Evan's and Chris's acting was pretty bad today. Good thing Lucinda and Lily were there to make the scenes shine. As much as I enjoy seeing Nuke...the dialogue was a bit too much. Talking about porn?? The scab writers sure aint the writers we used to have. Van did look real hot today. Too bad no one clued him in that his folks and his grandma were in danger.

Horrifically bad ending to a bad story. Someone should slap Lily...how she has the gall to sniff her nose at Lucinda and blame her for Dusty's death is beyond me. Wasn't it just this time a year ago, EIGHT babies, including her own son Ethan, were nearly killed by e.coli thanks to her drug-assisted business decisions? Does Lucy share in the culpability? Sure...but you can add Chris, Em (Dusty wouldn't have even been "a threat" to Evan, if he hadn't been obsessed with nailing Chris to prove to Em she should be with him instead), Lily (who caused Lucinda to lose the company in the first place), Meg (who didn't give it back), Paul, Craig and OH YEAH...Evan the killer.

I found myself liking Chris today. Not in the Evan scenes (but IMO no one could save those scenes, not even Liz Hubbard), but standing up to Emily and calling her on the bitch that she is.

Nuke...sorry, I officially give up. They are 20 going on 90, preachy walking afterschool specials for tolerance. Blah, blah, blah...today's lecture is: the lack of gay role models in the media today. Talk about a fast acting sedative. OMG...I cringed through the "oral fixation, wink wink, nudge nudge" talk. I can see it now...we just got rid of one baby centered plot (The Hell Quad) and it's obvious after today's talk, Noah and Luke will walk right into another one. BARF. You'd think at least the ScabsInCharge could think of a different obstacle for this couple. At least for a week or two.

Jean Passanante's attention span doesn't last that long, P.J.

Besides, we're about plot now, on ATWT. Logic schmogic, we've got (babies to kill and) ratings to bring up!

(And thus concludes the sarcastic portion of this post.)

Try as I might, I just can't hate Emily. I feel sorry for the poor dear. Between her alcoholic mother, and a father she never got to know growing up, it's no wonder she bases her entire self-worth on who she spreads her legs for at the moment. Should the girl make better choices? Hell yeah. But, as my mother likes to say, it all comes down to home training.

I hate Emily for exactly the opposite reason (I think..). I've heard her whine for years about how her choices are all Susan's fault. It not only got old, that bs excuse ceased to exist for me when she knowingly bedded Diego/Umberto and then tortured blind Samantha for kicks. Emily knows the difference between right and wrong, she just makes selfish choices. And she's never sorry until or unless she gets caught. LOL...I just hate her...not love to hate her.

I prefered Melanie Smith's trampier version of Emily. You felt sorry for her no matter what she did. But I doubt we will ever see Ms. Smith in the role again. Goutman doesn't want Oakdale characters to have multiple layers. He wants the characters of Oakdale to be one note and hated.

So did I. However, it's hard to blame KMH's version of the character on Goutman, she took over the role about seven years before he even got there. It's hard to believe KMH has played the role for fifteen years (5 times longer than Melanie Smith), and I still consider her a bad recast.

I have a soft spot for KMH. She and I started ATWT at the same time. I was glad when she received an Emmy nomination too. Besides, I think Emily has developed an inner hysteria that wasn't there before the recast. But come on, she's been a desperate shrew since the Melanie Smith years. Is there really a difference between whining over Brock and whining over Chris?

Yes, MS' Em was desperate.

But she seemed capable of human emotion. I swear, KMH is incapable of being sympathetic. Anytime I've had an sliver of compassion for the character, KMH starts her incessant "hhhmmmmnnnniiiiinnnngggg.... and wiping her runny nose with her hands, and I get totally turned off.

    • It actually felt like TM-G was a bit softer in her scenes with nu-Ted that kind of matched his meeker energy as Ted on Friday. I was very curious how she’d play off him and now I have my answer.
    • My thoughts exactly! Fantastic find @DRW50!
    • That was interesting; thanks. Courtney looks tired and/or bored AF, LOL!
    • 5-12   Lord have mercy.   I'm not sure how I feel about it. Perhaps what I said last week or the week before last. If the highlight of a soap is what people are wearing and not the writing, that's not a good thing. And that was how I was feeling watching this. There was not anyone that I was interested in seeing in the episode outside of Daniel and Sally tbh. Because Daniel continues to be the only thing that humanizes Phyllis for me.    I could care less for the Billy/Sally scenes where he's woe is me. I could care less about Kyle/Claire since the writers took all the drama right out of the pairing. Humanized or not, I could care less for Giggly Heffa.    I barely care for Teriah. But for me, it's nice to see something going on with them. Though it seems so horribly contrived.    I liked the costume designer appears to be trying to find individual styles for some of the characters. For me, Tessa's with the boots stood out given her indie musician history. It seems like Claire's style is coming into its own with block colors. I like Kyle's wardrobe is loosening up somewhat. I even loved the striped dress that Phyllis had on.    But again...where is the writing?
    • It was reported that Jane Wyman absence in the final season was due to health (it's documented that Jane was diabetic) but I believe her episodes being cut was a budget mode move. Similar move Dallas pulled in 1990, it was reported that Barbara Bel Geddes retired due to health (it's documented that Barbara had a heart condition) but I say salary dump. Jane Wyman only acted once after Falcon Crest, a 1993 episode of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, but she lived another 14 years after that. Barbara Bel Geddes did not act again after her last episode of Dallas in 1990 but she lived another 15 years after that. The trifecta of suck at Lorimar was Les Moonves, Leonard Katzman, and Michael Filerman. It was a pattern across all three CBS primetime soaps in the off the rails plus budget mode era to salary dump the long-time female cast members and bring on sweet young things hired on the cheap.
    • To be fair, more than half of them are dead now.
    • Kat may be a privileged elitist but that's not entirely true.  Kat first met Eva when Eva was snooping at Nicole's desk, so Kat's first impression of Eva wasn't very good.  Plus, Kat's instinct to not trust Eva was 100% right.  Kat's attitude toward Eva had nothing to do with Eva not "bowing" down to Kat, and her feelings toward her half-sister is very justified......minus the making fun of Eva's clothes of course.
    • They said that this has metastasized to his bones, but the type of "aggressive" prostate cancer he has is actually very common and is treatable, or at least manageable. So the headline is misleading.   Apparently this type of cancer is hormonal which makes it somewhat treatable? But still, of course, sad.  Thinking of him and his loved ones.
    • Kat is a spoiled brat princess and Silk Press Sheila called her out on it.  Silk Press Sheila is someone not to mess with. I was actually scared for Kat when she was alone with Silk Press Sheila and recording their conversation.
    • It is funny that Stephanie and Philip still hide/blush/get embarrassed at the sight of each other.  Meanwhile, Kate's pouring coffee for Rafe at the pub as if they're only casual acquaintances.  Although, if Kate blushed every time she saw one of her former lovers, she'd be permanently red.
