Prom Boat disaster, Warlock Island, Sheridan buried alive, Hell in a Closet, Timmy's journey to save Charity, the secret of Ethan's paternity, etc. Yeah of course storylines end.

False tags, repetitive scenes, flashbacks just to name a few. That's pretty much the JER bashing you're gonna get out of me. :D

Those are more events then storylines, Toups.

Tell me...did Shuis ever get together? Or Lancy? How about Ethan/Theresa? Juliian/Eve?

Gotta love how JER built Ivy's story up for years only to give us a lackluster climax that did nothing for story. Sam and Ivy were ignored after that and thrown back together without any buildup.

JER is burnt out. He's done. All the guy does now is shock and awe and it does nothing for Passions and would do nothing for Days long-term. He's all wrong for any HW's job in daytime right now. It's bad enough we have had people rip off his storytelling, which is a big reason why the soap genre is hurting.

So it looks like AMC went up 70,000 in Total Viewers from last week. Days went down 50,000 from last week. And GH went up 200,000 from last week.

I'm no Meanlee fan but to be fair AMC set a 17 week high in 18-49. last week. It remains to be seen if they did that well this week but a 17 week 18-49 isn't nothing.

Well the HH number is the same. They didnt go up there. They went up in Viewers in women 18-49. Thats the high they talk about.

Yeah and I'm guessing the high for that is probably not that high either.......

So I guess we can say Sabine was humiliated for nothing.....

Events are storylines though.

But these aren't storylines, they're characters. Storylines are events that happen TO the characters. You suppose to have the same people involved in different storylines/events over many years - that's how you write soap opera, IMO. Over that span of 1993-1997, he would always have the same characters involved with each other: John/Marlena/Kristen, Hope/Billlie/Bo, Jack/Jen/Peter, Lucas/Sami/Austin/Carrie. So it's no surprise that over PSNS' 8 year history, we still have: Theresa/Ethan/Gwen, Julian/Eve, Sam/Ivy, Sheridan/Luis, Kay/Miguel, Chad/Whitney.

Sure his PSNS storylines were never as good as his DAYS storylines, but I still truly believe that if Jim can get total creative control, he can make DAYS amazing again. DAYS and PSNS are totally different shows, so when I think of Jim writing for DAYS, I don't associate it with his PSNS work - I just look at his history with DAYS.

Aw..Darn I was hoping ATWT would hit at least a 2.4 this week. :P It has been pretty good.

That's debatable...JMO of course.

Why is GH so high? I think it is awful right now. JMO of course.

Ratings don't always reflect quality, but there's no denying GH has been much better since Garin Wolf and JFP have been running the show. We've seen more of Monica on a non-sweeps month than we've seen in years.

And LOL about some of the Days posts. Either Marlena is not on enough or she is on too much. You cant have it both ways. The excuses for the ratings fall is too much.

The problem isn't Marlena. It's the writing and the Damned [H]ack behind it. People watch DAYS for more than just Marlena or John. The vets being on every day won't matter if the writing still sucks ass. There was one day this month were DAYS just....."lost it" IMO. Maybe i'm just bitter about Brandon & Martha, but I know that's when I stopped enjoying the show.

I have to disagree with you Toups. JER has complete control over Passions. He influences casting. It's HIS show, and yet look and what his vision has done for that show? Passions is what he would turn DAYS into if he had the chance IMO. A complete and utter clusterfuck (and this is coming from someone who enjoys Passions).

I'm just pushing my Jim Reilly agenda. ;) When Reilly wasn't tied down by Corday, Reilly took DAYS from a 2.8 to a 3.9 in HHs, and 2.2 to 3.2 in 18-49 demos in just 5.5 months.

And DAYS is a different beast than PSNS. Reilly and DAYS - I always think of 6.9 and 3.9. :)

Let Reilly run wild and you'll see the buzz, discussion, and ratings go up. :)

I agree with Toups. People always re-write history when it comes to Reilly and DAYS because they dislike PSNS. At the same time, I feel like DAYS needs to stop being so schizophrenic. They need to pick a writer/style and stick with it.

Thanks for the ratings Toups. I love seeing so many + for ATWT. The 18-49 demo is so close. Only .1 seperates shows 3-8.

GH appears to be entering sweeps the strongest out of all the soaps, not only is it up in HH's and total viewers, but also in the key demos. All of this without a huge explosion coming up and Sarah Brown only returned today...

AMC has themselves to blame. They spent what....3 days promoting the return of Jessie & Angie? That's what they get.....

All the returns in the world won't distract people from the writing being absolutely atrocious.

Dont you get it Ryan? They had to promote the big star of the show. The next Susan Lucci. The REAL GREENLEE!! :D:P:lol:

Rebecca is getting the same ratings Sabine was as Greenlee.

Bianca's 3 day visit with no PR got AMC a 10 week high of a 1.3 18-49. So a Month of Greenlee love getting a 1.4 isn't good.

GH may be #1 in 18-49 next week!
