January 26, 200817 yr Member Woah, David Shaughnessy's back at Y&R. LOL - David Shaughnessy back as Director on January 28 OMGGGG Toups, I didn't watch Y&R today, but you just made my day. David was the last EP who "got" Y&R.
January 26, 200817 yr Member OMGGGG Toups, I didn't watch Y&R today, but you just made my day. David was the last EP who "got" Y&R. Yep. Things just keep on getting better At least with the rest of daytime seemingly going to hell, we once again maybe can all depend on Y&R to be a step above the rest! Hopefully!!!
January 26, 200817 yr Member And on the Nancy Curlee thing, I'm not getting my hopes up on that. She'll always have a special place in my heart, since GL was the first soap that "hooked" me in the early 90's. She's a perfect fit at any soap, from Y&R to AMC. She knows how to do business intrigue, social issues, relationships, romance, and tell character-driven stories. However, as someone said, she's never coming back and I've accepted that.
January 26, 200817 yr Member I just can't wait for when we see in the credits "Executive Producer: David Shaughnessy" again!
January 26, 200817 yr Member Y&R didn't need any new directors (hell other than Sally McDonald and Dean LaMont, everyone who directs for Y&R is freelance), the fact David Shaughnessy is back is HUGE. The Bell family clearly has a bigger hand in controlling Y&R again. Shaughnessy was still apart of the Bell fold, having directed for B&B. Who knows, he could very well be back as the show's Executive Producer again after the strike. Or I could be making something out of nothing. For all we know now that Sally McDonald is a producer and has her hands full, she probably needed a director for one episode, so she called her old friend David.

Maybe she is writing for ATWT.
January 26, 200817 yr Member Maybe she is writing for ATWT. LOL! I think one of the reasons she left soaps behind was because she hated P&G and their interference. Someone as good as Curlee should not be scabbing....
January 26, 200817 yr Member Well, if Nancy Curlee were scabbing for ATWT, then she's been out of practice for too long; 'cuz the dialogue today? STANK.
January 26, 200817 yr Member Sylph is not - I repeat, IS NOT - Vincent Latham Lechowick; and any suggestions to such a claim is purely conjecture. Believe me, folks, you don't wanna go there. Somehow I still think you believe I am. And that doesn't surprise me.
January 26, 200817 yr Member Essentially, she's taking one for the team. Yes, I think that's what's going on. However, as someone said, she's never coming back and I've accepted that. Never say never. Later, don't make me say "I told you so."
January 26, 200817 yr Member I think it comes down to this: Kay loves daytime, she loves the Bells, she's not trying to 'make it' as a writer, she's hit the apex of her career, this strike doesn't look like it'll end soon, she doesn't want B&B to go down the drain creatively when it's been on such an upswing. Essentially, she's taking one for the team. Thank goodness, too. This week, with a drunken, histrionic Taylor swigging vodka from under her mattress... Well, we've devolved from the height of Stephanie's truly mysterious shooting (and it's silly resolution). Let's get back on track. One beautiful thing is that B&B is capable, always, of getting rapidly back on track.
