Administrator Toups Posted July 14, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted July 14, 2008 So I'm updating the profiles database, and I noticed something......how in the world did Anna Cascio get on the 2008 Emmy list when she was first credited on December 11, 2007? I thought you had to be with the show for at least 33% of the episodes in the eligibility time period?
Members MarkH
I can't answer...but Toups, who is the 7th writer?
Members Sylph
I suspect this will be a semi-major firing that will satisfy many, many fans and that things haven't been confirmed yet. Which is why Toups is waiting...
Members MarkH
Do you suspect it is from the same show as the other six? And if yes, we have two plausible candidates. One of them--more major than the other--has been the show's spokesperson in recent weeks AND was described by Thom Racina as doing a "coordinating thing" and "adding extra emotion" to the outlines. So, concretely, do you think it will be James Stanley (not semi-major, IMO), Scott Hamner (semi-major for sure), or someone from another show? Members brimike
Uhhh.... because nobody really checks those things out at the Academy, and FV/RC wanted to hook a friend up? :-) Seriously, I have no idea. But I believe the number is 19% of the episodes. Which ATC still wouldn't have had enough of.
Members dragonflies
Daran Little was credited today for AMC From the AMC thread: Addie Walsh Amanda L. Beall Daran Little Jeff Beldner.
Members detroitpiston
He isn't a writer but Paul Rauch is joining Y&R as a consultant per Michael Logan.
Members Khan
Obviously, I cannot speak for Sylph, but if the seventh fire is coming from Y&R, then I think it'll be James Stanley. IMO, he is more of a FOL's than even Scott Hamner, who has written for soaps in the past (namely, ATWT) for HW's other than LML. Paul Rauch, a consultant for Y&R? Oh Lord. I don't know what to say or think about that, lol.
Members AddictedToSoaps
UGH. Really Y&R!? You can do better than Paul Rauch!
Members LondonScribe
I'm no expert on the history of American Soaps (nor will I EVER claim to be), but even I know this is not a good idea. Makes me wonder who made this hire. Also, what would he be consulting on? Production values or writing/storylines?
Members Soapsuds
Wasn't Paul Rauch on Y&R at the beginning of its run? He was horrible at GL but better at OLTL.
Members detroitpiston
Didn't say specifically. Just said he was joining as a creative consultant.
Members brimike
This is a joke, right? What a strange little fustercluck is going on behind the scenes over there. Anyone else wondering if this is just the precursor to Rauch getting Griffith's job?
Members dm.
Rauch was the final EP for Santa Barbara, but I don't think he's the one to blame. I believe Thom Racina said in an interview that Rauch was much better than Conboy on SB.
Members Sylph
This is pure Aristophanes! (Specifically, The Birds. ) A farce! Even worse than when LML was driving the changes behind the scenes! Can't they just once hire the right person? Why isn't Shaughnessy producing?
