DAYS:

- Linda Poindexter first listed as Script Writer on January 10

Linda Poindexter is a former Associate Casting Director. LOL So this leads me to believe that the scab dialogue is starting, but the other script writers were still listed (in the Canadian credits, what did NBC have?).

AMC:

- Kate Hall last listed as Script Writer on December 13 (2007)

- Joanna Cohen last listed as Script Writer on December 19 (2007)

- Ron Renauld last listed as Script Writer on December 21 (2007)

- Courtney Bugler last listed as Script Writer on December 31 (2007)

- Marla Kanelos last listed as Script Writer on January 2

- Michelle Patrick last listed as Script Writer on January 3

- Rebecca Taylor last listed as Script Writer on January 4

B&B:

- Janice Ferri Esser last listed as Script Writer on January 3

- Patrick Mulcahey last listed as Script Writer on January 4

- Rex M. Best last listed as Script Writer on January 7

- Tracey Ann Kelly last listed as Script Writer on January 9

- Janice Ferri Esser last listed as Storyline Consultant on January 9

- Jerry Birn last listed as Storyline Consultant on January 9

They may still have a few scripts left to air...this episode may have to have been heavily re-written for some reason. I would expect the rest of the staff to disappear from the credits in the near future...In the meantime, here's the press release I wrote up for Poindexter...first time I ever had to write a mini-bio for an associate casting director!

LINDA POINDEXTER WRITES

Long-time "Days of Our Lives" associate casting director Linda Poindexter wrote the dialogue for the January 10, 2008 episode. This was the first episode written since the strike began on November 5 and Poindexter becomes the first replacement writer for "Days." However, all of the other dialogue writers were still listed with Poindexter in the credits, so there may still be a few episodes remaining written by the staff writers. Poindexter was previously the associate casting director from 1989-2007. Her main responsibility was to cast the background extras on the show. This is Poindexter's first writing assignment. She is listed as a member of the WGA on the WGA's website. Linda Rae Poindexter, 53, was born on November 17, 1954.

Just got confirmation....that's it for "Days" as of today....no more dialogue writers as of 1/10/08...No dialogue writers listed for 1/11/08. Poindexter may actually be a writer now, since she's on the WGA site...she and no other dialogue writers are listed tomorrow.

Also, I have to say, for scab writing, today's DAYS had GREAT dialogue. Sami's "after all I've done to reform myself, now you want me to lie?" speech to Lucas' lawyer was really brilliant. Classic daytime and GREAT acting by Ali Sweeney.

While some soaps needed this strike, it couldn't have come at a worse time for DAYS. The Scott/Sheffer regime was clearly on a roll. But it's classic Ken Corday, (and classic Hogan Sheffer too,) always a day late and a penny short.

    • Yes, of course, all of those servants added to the overall picture at AW & also people had relationships with those servants! I like it when Anita asks after one of the servants at the club, how their children are doing & like that.
    • Great scenes between Marlena and EJ today. Paula and Jeanne are making EJ have more depth than Ron had during his long drawn out tenure.
    • Might as well say it, Minority opinion, granted, but I like Joss & I'm okay with this WSB story & i hope that Emma will be their next recruit & she & Joss can be partners.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven  The Arlene/Ben/Betsy triangle is one I wish I could see for myself as on paper it doesn't tend to excite me but I can see how well-constructed it was. I wish I could see the Rick/Meg relationship too, although I wish they'd had him genuinely fall for Meg after he gets together with Cal. The whole Brooke/Deacon/Bridget story on B&B was horribly damaging to Brooke as a character but it was dramatically very sound because I could completely believe Deacon would fall for messy and vulnerable Brooke after finally settling down with the more docile Bridget.

    • According to the head writer list, it seems the show may have started to fall apart while either the Schneiders or Upton were writing.  And when it started to crumble, it crumbled fast.  It was sad to see everything Labine had brought to LOL be disassembled.

Welcome back!!! And I see Abe and Paulina got a new apartment too, which is just a redress of John/Marlena’s, Steve/Kayla’s, etc. But it looks kinda nice. And I enjoyed his scenes with Chanel. It added another perspective to everything that’s been going on with her and Johnny. And Abe using his own history with Lexie to comfort Chanel was a good idea. Plus, it also provided us with more suspicion/red herring about Johnny possibly shooting EJ. I’m looking forward to see what happens between her and Johnny. And I’m so glad that the two of them are on the frontburner now.  Speaking of Johnny, I still have no problem with him going to work for Titan. The drama could be so good, especially once EJ finds out. To me, it seems like another realistic reaction to everything that’s been happening to Johnny lately. It doesn’t seem random and over the top either. And I like that they remembered to have Johnny tell Xander that he has no corporate experience whatsoever. Surprisingly, the two of them work well together. And so do Carson and Deidre. I love how the Marlena/Johnny relationship has been featured so much.  Kayla was still strong and kicking ass today too. The writer change has helped her/Mary Beth so much. But I do admit we should’ve seen Steve trying to get into Dr. Russell’s lab rather than Kayla instructing him over the phone.  And unfortunately, Chad and Cat still don’t seem to be doing much for me though. The cliffhanger was ok too.   Btw, Days was trending at #4 this morning on Peacock
