This is so sad. I can't believe All My Children is in last place. I remember the days when they were on the brink of taking over the #1 spot from Y&R (back in the 90's). Now the show is matching Loving's personal best. The writers need to put the vets front and center. Erica Kane is NOT a supporting player.

Bring in Agnes Nixon stat!

So, just to be clear, ABC Daytime is in shambles. Ratings have never been worse. And Frons gets...another promotion to head Soapnet.

What is wrong with this picture?

That said, GH deserves to go down in flames as spectacularly as it is!

It's about time! AMC has been on a downhill slide since Frons took over ABC daytime. I stopped taping it regularly two weeks ago because the same damn characters are on all the time (Zach, Kendall, Ryan, Annie, Greenlee, Ava) and there are no good couples worth rooting for anymore. I hope Frons, Carruthers, and B&E are all fired soon so AMC has a chance of rebounding. If they continue on this path, I have no doubt it will be canceled within the next two years.

LMAO Sabine/Greenlee and embryos are killing this show.

It's sad when last week alone Greenlee's name was uttered over 100 times in one week.

Every single storyline revolves around her

Jack/Erica-talk about Greenlee

Zach/JR-talk about Greenlee

Zach/Josh--talk about Greenlee

Zach/Lily--talk about Greenlee

Jack/Greenlee--talk about Greenlee

Ryan/Greenlee--talk about Greenlee

Aidan/Greenlee--talk about Greenlee

and so on..........

OMG!! WOW!!! Just WOW!!! I had a feeling AMC's ratings would go down but I figured they would be close to Days or even just a little below it but to be in last place...geez. It is shocking to see a show that was once so strong and interesting falling this hard and this quickly. The show is just a complete mess right now. I really don't know if it was Frons who wanted the focus on Greenlee or if it was the new writers but it was a HUGE mistake. There are just so many things wrong with the show. Too many important characters have been fired or have left the show, not enough storylines going on right now, not enough focus on the vets, couples are becoming stale (yeah-that includes Zendall, IMHO), poor storyline choices, poor writing, etc., etc. AMC has lost its identity and I wonder if Frons even cares. Maybe his plan all along was to destroy AMC so he could cancel it. Maybe replace it with another hour of GH...blech.

Carruthers, Frons, and B&E need to go. The likelihood of Frons being fired now is very slim because he just got that promotion so ABC daytime is screwed. I just wonder what kind of shake-ups are going to occur behind the scenes for AMC now. They can fire these new writers but I don't think it is going to make one bit of difference as long as Carruthers and Frons are still with the show. RIP AMC.

Poor AMC!

But GO Days!!! I am shocked but glad. And I mean even though I have a feeling they might drop for this week a bit I seriously hope that they don't because this week may not have been much but next week sounds awesome. So if the ratings can sustain for one more week mabye they can be good for next week's ratings.

as much as i hate to see any soap operas lose ratings - im kinda glas AMC fell. that is such an awful show and deserves to be ont he bottom. the zendull hour is lame.

shame OLTL fell - its by far the best at the moment. ATWT does NOT deserve to be where it is.

Yay for Days going up. I Hope GH will get a rise next week.

wow. Y&R's stunt worked. thats lame.

B&B is doing okay.

    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!

    • I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.

    • And here I thought I'd never think about Lauren Tewes again after her brief appearance in Twin Peaks Season 3.
    • I may be the single person who does not mind Transatlantic Campy Pamela. I think it perfectly suits this sort of Absolutely Fabulous-esque supporting character she's playing much more than it did when Cady tried weird and often broad stuff at AMC* or Y&R, or later stints at ATWT. She's not Dixie and she's not trying to be. I will freely admit some of the other chances she took at other shows often came off stiff, hammy or downright mortifying (Kelly Andrews, come on down). (* - and I say that as one of the few who was somewhat into Cady trying to make Dixie more cosmopolitan in the Rosanna Cabot mold in mid-2000s AMC, just to liven the character up again)
