Administrator Toups Posted September 15, 2022 Author Administrator Share Posted September 15, 2022 Wow, losing two of the greatest players in the span of a month. Out of the big three, I always rooted for Roger. He was great to watch. Is that true? If so, that is such an insane stat.
Members Fevuh
A couple of years ago, I figured when Roger retired it would be more along the lines of Monica Seles. And these days it seems to be more of the way of the world. Quiet Retirement. LOL. I wouldn't say Quiet Quitting, but.
Members Faulkner
I’m a Novak fan, yet I recognize what Roger did for tennis and how his accomplishments drove other elite players to improve and make a run for his records. I was kind of melancholy when I saw yesterday’s news. Roger and Serena had been at the top of the sport for so long, it seemed they’d never leave. I felt similarly about the Queen’s death. She’d been monarch for so long that, even though we knew she’d eventually die, it’s still jarring to see it actually happen. I dunno… just the closing of all of these long eras really highlights the passage of time.
Members Soapsuds
Looks like Roger's career might be over already. ESPN is reporting that he might not play the Laver Cup after all this week!
Members Faulkner
That’s a shame. It would have been cool to see the Big 4 playing on the same team for one last hurrah. I’m sure RF will be there soaking up the adulation.
Members Fevuh
I might not have been as off base as I thought about the Quiet Quitting. LOL.

Members Soapsuds
Roger was interviewed on the Today show. Unfortunately I pretty much missed it all. He was asked if any of his kids might have it to play pro. He said all played tennis but one of his twin sons had "it" but he had to get his act together! Members Faulkner
So weird to see the Asian swing again.
Members Soapsuds
It's tennis live non-stop from the men's two atp events to the wta in Asia. Edited September 21, 2022 by Soapsuds
Members Faulkner
Again, Jack Sock just looks sloppy and out of place.
Members Soapsuds
I'm just going to watch on Friday to see Roger and then I'm not even bothering. There's a lot of players besides Jack Sock that look out of place. I had to laugh at comments of a picture featuring Borg, Roger and Tsitsipas. Comments.... The two goats and the wanna be kid who has won nothing. Administrator Toups Posted September 22, 2022 Author Administrator Share Posted September 22, 2022 Roger’s final match will be a doubles match - Nadal HAS to be his partner, right? It can’t be anybody else.

Members Fevuh
This was a great guess....I would not have thunk it. I don't know why, but it never occurred to me!
