Felix was up 2 sets and had a match point? Damn.  Out of Shapo and Felix, I think Felix will be the better player.   You can tell from their post match press conferences that he’s already a lot more mature than Shapo.  I think that will help him more quickly.

Yes and I meant to respond to your earlier post.  Shapo has some maturing to do and I'm wondering why the match was not defaulted after his  comment.  Very juvenile thing to say.

I’m sure he did.  What Novaxx is doing is/was stupid but Medvedev is also a prick, and it shows up once in a while.   It was likely his way obvious attempt to get some fans for himself for when Roger and Nadal retire.  I hope the most he gets out of it is that he was the one to lose to Nadal during Nadal’s big winning Slam.  And isn’t bored with the loss.

Novak next tournament was revealed today. He added Dubai which is in mid to late February. Does Dubai have any restrictions? I thought I read where there was not but I could be wrong.

Collins handed Swiatek the smack down and she did it without living up to her nickname "DanYell"

Between having an Aussie in the Women's Final and an All Aussie Men's Doubles Final, I think the Australian tennis fans are feeling like not a thing is missing from this year's tournament for them.

Speaking of an Aussie in the Men's Doubles final, for someone who claims not to care about tennis, Nick sure looks like he cares... about tennis.

That seems to be the consensus among fans who watched the match. I didn't see it because there was no way in hell I was going to get up that early to watch a Keys/Barty match, especially knowing Keys' reputation for choking in big moments.

People are now comparing Keys to Dementieva but I don't remember Elena playing this poorly in majors. I remember in a Wimbledon match (QFs or SFs?) against Serena, she had a bit of a choke but it was a brief moment of constant pressure that Serena put on Dementieva's very shaky serves.

I just remembered by the time I was able to tune into that U.S. Open final against Sloane, I looked at the score and was glad I only had to watch a few games and of those few games, Madison couldn't put one ball in the court. I could only guess what the rest of the match had been like. And it's really become a pattern for Keys.

    • But that's not weird... nail polish is allowed in prisons via commissary. Same with general makeup, haircuts, and hair colouring products.
    • This is DAYS, the show that said you could brainwash anyone with simple kitchen appliances.  An actor's nail polish or lack thereof should be the least of our concerns, lol.
    • It was not that she wasn't wearing nail polish, it is that she managed to get a manicure in prison
    • "We're Knot Done Yet": the name of this lovely podcast AND what JVA tells her plastic surgeon at every appointment. In other news, Michele Lee is reminding me more and more of my old music teacher from elementary school, and I couldn't STAND that bitch.
    • I apologize if this has been covered already, but does anyone know whether Douglas Marland was HW'ing by that point?  If he was, then I see what he meant when he said (in so many words) that he had inherited a mess when he started at GH.  Aside from Alan and Monica, none of that material seems very promising.  The story with Mark Dante and the Corbins is the wrong kind of predictable (y'know, the kind where you know what's going to happen, but you just don't give a crap?), the stuff with Scotty and Laura is cute but toothless, I don't know WHAT the hell Gina and Steve Carlson's character are arguing about and Rick Webber has to be the dumbest man alive not to see David Hamilton practically twirling his moustache over how to make a killing off Lamont Corbin's declining health.  (By the way, "LAMONT CORBIN"?  What is this, "The Shadow"?  And "Corbin Limited" sounds like some jive I'd hear over on Y&R.) In a way, it's kind of like watching today's GH, right down to the dialogue that's serviceable and pushes plot along but says nothing about the characters' inner lives.
    • It absolutely was; the narrative was there, and they followed it promptly. Maybe that's back when women had babies at young ages?!?!?

    • Thanks for asking that!  Back when we had another major event upcoming (a party or the concert), I had intended to ask what everyone here was planning to wear.

    • Lol. Right?  I mean the show could have framed the 60th anniversary in a different way, but the narrative was celebrating Tom and the hospital. Also, what a weirdly sexist bunch of posts about women's nail polish.  Like, yes, this is Days problem lol.  Stacy Haiduk isn't a good Kristen because she doesn't wear nail polish?  Are we in the 1950's???
