Members Soapsuds
This is utter bullshit!! He's being hammered on Facebook and so is tennis Australia.
Members Fevuh
Well, not defending him but - it's probably medical exemption and valid. He had a history of collapsing on the court, and Roddick and Federer openly made fun of him at the time. It's still out there. They always thought it was sports/cardio induced asthma. But a doctor figured out it was gluten allergies and other food related allergies. He changed his diet and it changed his life. I wouldn't doubt that someone (an independent board) can't explain why that was the case, but it was. And he probably gets an exemption for a)if it was sports/cardo related asthma OR the b) food allergy - not to &uck with it. Even if it's unreasonable to think a vaccine could &uck with it, at least he has a valid reason not to &uck with it and the history and proof of his physical breakdowns prior to his diet change are well documented. A lot of other people cannot claim that.

Members DramatistDreamer
Then it's probably too risky for him to be out there playing in a pandemic. At one time, there were Australian citizens missing funerals and births of family members because the Australian government wouldn't allow them in, yet they're willing to make an exception. Why?
Members I Am A Swede
^^ And does anyone believe that this medical exemption would have been granted if the player had been some unknown qualifier from Austria named Faber Gstrein.... or anyone else not named Novak Djokovic? Members DramatistDreamer
There's an article about the wedding in People magazine. Sloane and Jozy left empty seats for the loved ones unable to attend the wedding, including Sloane's grandparents who died from COVID-19 earlier this year.

Members DramatistDreamer
Not sure this will actually come to pass.
Members I Am A Swede
^^ Probably not. But with all the attention this has gotten and the outrage it has stirred up in Australia (and elsewhere) I wouldn't completely rule it out either.....
