It's called going out with a bang. The View last month averaged an audience of 1 million women 18-to-49, the show's highest May sweeps delivery in that demo in its 10-year history and the first May sweeps the talker has ranked among the top five daytime shows. In total viewers, The View averaged 3.8 mil, an increase of 27 percent versus May '06. Since Rosie's departure, the show's most significant milestone is that some people recall what channel it is on.

You have to give Elizabeth some credit. I am sure the ratings will go down without the blow hard, but if it was not for Elizabeth actually taking on Rosie, there would be no fight, meaning no reason to watch. Unless you want to watch that worthless P.O.S. Rosie accuse her own country of 9-11 all over again....

I don't believe Rosie ever accused Bush of allowing 9/11 to happen to justify an invasion into Iraq. If she criticized his lack of motivation to prevent 9/11, then she has a case since it is proven he did not read the August 6th PDB warning of an attack in the country.

And now Bush has turned into a bigger terrorist than Bin Laden...Just my opinion but I don't want this thread getting all political so I will end it here :)

I never had any problem with Rosie's views, in fact, I tend to side with her on a lot of things including her radical conspiracy theories on government coverups. It's the execution of her views that is a major turnoff. She resorts to bully-like tactics to get people to see her POV and is demanding, pushy, and very confrontational. And when met with her match, she cries victim or hide like(using her words) a coward.

I give Elisabeth credit for standing up to Rosie, because Rosie thought that no one would really stand up to her live on the air. FOX NEWS, although they were extreme on saying what they said about Rosie, I can certainly understand where they would draw the link or "spin" what she said. Is it right if Rosie disagrees? NO. But she shouldn't use Elisabeth to try and clarify what FOX NEWS said.

I bet Tom Selleck is somewhere smiling right now.

"Question Authority" is a very PRO-American message. If the founding fathers hadn't done so, we'd still have a King!

You can give someone the benefit of the doubt while still questioning authority. What's un-American is to say, "I trust the King's stamp tax and I'm not gonna think about it."

Anyway, I hate to defend Rosie O'Donnell because I think she's nuts, but she never accused the government of destroying the Twin Towers. She knows that was terrorists. She wonders if perhaps the government demolished 7 WTC. I don't think they did, but that's what she actually said.

    • This is a guess, but Kat is going to mess around and help get Leslie off on a technicality. She is too determined to go around the law. Sharon is so entertaining. The way she acted like Anita was about to trip her down or something at the end was hilarious. The silence from Tracy and Sharon when Anita called them out for not backing Barbara out was telling. They can't defend themselves because they were just as hungry for success as Anita was.
    • I am sure it was not what JJ thought was going to happen with Lucky or Lucky/Liz and I don't think JJ will ever be back.  That was just an awful return and his return in 2010 wasn't anything great lol.

    • I don't think this is anything but a pause. I think there's a lot more of Liz/Lucky coming up ahead. Think of it as a classic fakeout.  Edit to ADD: Well, crap. Ignore me. Outta there.
    • Now she used to be on the Directing rotation, so is this when she was off of it for awhile & now is back?

FROM THE VAULT: SUNDAY DAYTIME RATINGS: HIGHLIGHTS FROM AUGUST 1973 & NOVEMBER 1973
    • A Day Off from the Drama Felt Like a Breath of Fresh Air Honestly, I didn’t mind the change of pace today. The episode had a lighter tone, and it was refreshing—like coming up for air after all the intensity lately.  But, did anyone else notice that Bo's hospital room is larger than Marlena's living room? Chad and Leo: A Surprisingly Enjoyable Pairing I actually enjoy Leo in scenes with Chad. It's a shame Chad hasn't been given more lighthearted material before—he’s much funnier than I expected. At least we were spared the referenced Ari/Leo interaction (dodged that bullet). Gabi’s Hair: A Curl Too Far Let’s talk about Gabi’s hair. Those curtain curly-q bangs? Ridiculous. Not only unattractive but completely impractical. And if she doesn’t like living with Leo, then… move out. Yes, it’s Rafe’s house, but she’s the CEO and titular head of GabiChic. If Chanel and Johnny can afford rent, I’m sure Gabi could swing Li Shin’s old place (they've probably painted since Gabi found him dead, and Melinda was held hostage there). Rafe and the FBI: Why Though? I still don’t understand the narrative function of Rafe suddenly working for the FBI—unless it’s to explain why he’s perpetually off-screen. Side note: Has anyone told Elon’s team that the Bureau is hiring middle-aged men who talk to stuffed animals and are apparently set to retire with full pensions in less than a decade? Doug3 and the Mystery of the Necklace Now, Doug3 is suddenly concerned about the age of consent? Not touching that. Also—whatever happened to his friendship with Sofia? And how did he manage to find a loan shark when he only hangs out with high school girls?  How much could he have borrowed?  He changed his name and moved out of town, so he must owe enough for the loan shark to hire repo men to find him and photograph underage women. But the real head-scratcher: why is he asking Leo who bought the necklace? It’s Melinda. He knows it’s Melinda. Was this filmed out of order? Or did she fence it? I’m confused. Gwen Mention #1 (And we all know what happens when you say her name three times…) Cat: The Kookiness Has Worn Thin I’ve tried. Really. But I don’t like Cat. I don’t like her secret. I don’t like that she’s never at work covering Marlena’s phones. I don’t like her brand of kooky. I don’t like that she stopped blow-drying her hair. Honestly, I never invested much in her character because I figured she’d be gone by now. But now? I just don’t like her.
    • I'm actually stunned at the writing for Liz and Lucky today. It feels like a writing team that's out to make JJ look as bad as possible -- immature, irresponsible, and ridiculous. He comes off as a complete loser.
    • C-sign!!! Seriously, these numbers it's time to have a cyber party! #3 10/12 last weeks
    • Well, what a waste of JJ and Liz/Lucky. I sincerely thought Natalia was going to die in a drunk driving accident today, but I guess not.
    • Hhahahhahahhahhaha. Karma has begun her job.
