The only sad part about OLTL's rise last week was that Monday was the highest rated day of the week.....the same day that The View was on OLTL with Tate and his Tom Cruise moment.

Well, Days rocked last week. Maybe word got around because the ratings went up a bit each day. Maybe this week will be up even more.

Good set of motion for DAYS. This is the first major gain for DAYS since probably February. I hope they continue to build momentum and rise to the occasion for sweeps. And with this week and next week.....I'm sure DAYS will rise again.

yes to the Days ratings!

even tho it started out at a 1.9, it went up as each day progressed. I hope now w/ news of JM, it can be on a tremendous road of recovery

Nice to see most soaps go up a little.

I'm trying to remember what happened on GH last week - nothing extremely exciting happened to warrant a +.3 rise, right? I'm glad it went up - such a huge jump though.

I'm happy about OLTL and about DOOL. DOOL has been slumping but I don't think it is as bad as its ratings. OLTL probably was as bad as its.

It's still amazing only one soap is about 3.0.

The Thursday and Friday dropoff for OLTL wasn't as bad this week so that is good. I gotta look for the silver linings. The Monday show always seems to have the highest ratings for OLTL. I don't know why.

Anway, it looks like most of the soaps recovered a little bit.

Oh, by the way, Lskreet, thanks for posting these every week. I know there are probably other things you could be doing.

I don't even watch DAYS anymore, but WTG DAYS and it's fans!

They really needed this bump, even if they do tie with GL!

To be honest I didn't watch Days either but I'm so happy for it and the fans. Plus I really don't think EJ is the problem here but thats a whole nother discussion. I just want ATWT to get up to 2.5 already like it deserves to. It doesn't look like there were any significant drops this week although I haven't looked closely at all the numbers.

This is such a relief and good news! Not just for DAYS but for daytime. They all needed a better week!

Hopefully, we don't get back to the last week's numbers..

YAY for GH! I liked it last week! But they need to cut down the airtime for Carly, Sonny, Jason...

So Days featured more Bope and Jarlena and the ratings went up? And they even weren't in some major storyline!! Get a clue, Hogan and Corday!

Okay, I can rest until next Thursday..

There is something to Donna Mills in the same regard. Especially as Abby got more and more power for herself, she played her calmer and calmer as the years progressed. Abby is still calculating, but I can’t think of many times any of the three of them went full Valene or Karen. And I love those ladies, don’t get me wrong. But Joan Van Ark can be very histrionic and mannered, and Michele Lee is very soapy in the traditional sense.
The year after Sid died, before Mac arrived, Lee does a lot of quiet, beautiful acting in several episodes. But she can go balls out and did quite often. The whole Chip/Diana story is when it gets really noticeable to me. That run she does to find Diana has left at the end of season 4 is almost comical in her mannerisms and she doesn’t say a word.

The storyline with Madison feeling unsupported by Chelsea with her mom is actually interesting because it's different and topical without being overly political, but maybe it would have been nice to like, show it? They are getting to be like Y&R, too much narrating. We should be seeing the dynamics of dinner with her mom instead of being told. It could be done at a restaurant if creating a house set is an issue.

I just finished the book! overall it was a pretty good read...definitely more told of the POV and research of a fan which isn't a bad thing (going by JT Cornell is actually clever and hilarious!) and kind of more of a year by year recap of what happen on the show with little anecdotes thrown in. I definitely would love to hear more BTS stuff about certain stories and more of the actors words when it came to doing certain scenes and trying to make sense of the some of the more out there stories. It was good to learn a bit more about JER though. For as crazy as his storytelling was, it seemed everyone in the industry respected his ideas he bestowed upon daytime.

That was crazy to find out how affected Rodney Van Johnson really was at playing the "angry black man" and how he got PO'd at Chris Maleki's Spike for throwing fake punches at him ( I don't recall them fighting on the show though) That's scary he had to really wind down after filming to get all the anger out.
All the love for Ben Masters and the cast not knowing what was really going on with him before his death made me tear up a bit. I didn't realize how much he was involved in Tracy Ross's kids life too!

They even have quite a few paragraphs devoted to the the music having to be replaced on the SCI Fi and Superchannel rebroadcasts which is of course what I always complain about too! LOL That's why I always want to see the original broadcast 1999-2001 episodes pop up more where the music isn't messed with.

It's funny, YouTube took me on a nostalgia trip rediscovering things from the early 2000s that I loved recently and I realized from adult eyes the same thing. I think for Passions it's probably the nostalgia factor, those 12-17 year olds are now in their 30s/40s reliving that time. Hard to know if I'd been as into it as an adult, but as a kid for whatever reason me an my friends were obsessed haha

Grant came first and Ryan followed, then Spencer, and eventually Kelsey. I really wanted to like Kelsey but Kaitlin Hopkins in the role rubbed me the wrong way.
It took some time for it to turn out that Ryan was Carl's biological son. If they had used Perry as Vicky's True Love maybe things would have swung the other way and Perry would have found out that he was Spencer's biological son, thus backing into the rivalry with Grant and ensuing triangle.

MTS has said that Victor/Nikki were an accident pairing and it was Bill Bell that saw the connection between her and EB before they themselves did. The audience clearly saw the connection too, since the My Fair Lady storyline took off.

So Erica Hope original recipe Nikki Reed could have been another vixen from a working class background all about the come up in the vein of Brenda Dickson original recipe Jill. Of course Jill was more street smart than Nikki. Melody Thomas Nikki Reed didn't come across as being all about the come up but she got the come up when she became Mrs. Victor Newman.
