Exactly. Constant storyline that features newcomers and new recasts, combined with Steve & Kayla's awful storyline, does not make DAYS must-see-TV. If it were well-balanced with [better] storylines and veterans, it wouldn't feel like we're being bombarded by newbies and wet-behind-the-ears youngsters.

Cuz seriously, if we're instantly given a Max/Abby/Jed love triangle, I will scream "I don't give a F&CK!"

Well, that is your opinion.

I don't buy that budget rumor and I am sure other's don't either. It doesn't make sense since they still have to pay them anyway. The most logical way of explaining it is that PR and KA took vacations. They were due for one afterall. Plus, I read that KA was filming a movie. Drake had personal issues so I think it is very likely that he asked for time off. The show would not go public with such a personal issue so that is why no one has heard anything. Since Drake is off, Deidre is off. Simple as that.

No one ever knows the exact truth. It's just speculation. As I said, the backburnering of these 4 characters is not why the ratings went dow, The ratings went down (and they didn't go down much) was because the show slowed down and not much in the way of noteworthy events happened. When we did get things happening, the daily number was good. It also doesn't help Days that they slowed during sweeps, which made them look even worst compared to shows like GH and GL who had some big things going on. If this was just a normal month, Days wouldn't look as bad because many of the shows would not have rised or had such big events. That is what it comes down to.

But Mulder isn't appearing on a national TV show trying to portray a "knock-out" bombshell who'd charge men money to have sex with her.

That whole "Let's see you do better!" response never really holds. Just like if someone told me to do acting better than her. I'm not the one onscreen trying to sell myself as an actor. She is. And she's not doing a very good job of it.

What newbies? There are two-Willow and Nick. That is it. The young characters have all been here. I can also say with great certainty that there would be very little, if any, backlash if the big 4 were on. If they were on, the young characters would not be criticized. Nor would Steve or Kayla. Everything I have read or heard has been anger over the big 4 not on. It's not criticizing the young characters.

Again, it's not who is on but how much is happening. I am totally in agreement that Days needs to move the stories along and they are starting to now but I think people are being too hard on the young characters and Steve and Kayla.

Ok, Connor is gone. Jed and Benji are recurring.

As for BB, he wins like every fan poll in SOD every week and most fans have already gotten used to him. The only people not liking him are the rabid Jason Cook fans. EJ is not new. Guy has been here since May. He is well past newbie and he has actually been pretty well-accepted. Nick already has a HUGE fanbase. The only character that people are mad about being shoved in their faces is Willow. That's it.

You asked what other new faces and newbies there have been during Hoagie's tenure. I told you.

You can't argue a new face to fit whatever mold you have of them. A new face is a new face. Period.

Not everyone follows DAYS as obsessively as we do. They're new to your typical DAYS fan whether they are recurring or a recast.

Right but one is gone and two are recurring. The other 3 have been well-recieved and have great fan followings already. Other then Willow, I haven't heard alot of negativty except for the big 4 being off.

I am aware of that King but that isn't why the show is in a rut right now. It's because not much has been happening until the past week or so. That has been the biggest issue. I see your point but I just don't think the newbie/recast thing is nothing big to worry about.

But you visit mostly boards where DAYS is pretty popular, right?

Ratings and comments from fans I know IRL make me think that fans are not as pleased with Hoagie's DAYS as some onliners are. Some people do not want to see E.J. and think he is a newbie. Hell, some people feel that away about Chelsea and Abby. Sorry, but it's just a reality.

Actually, King, most onliners are upset with the show right now (mostly because alot of boards are rabid fanbasers). SON and a few others boards are pretty much ok with the show right now but that's about it.

All the other reactions I get are from the mags and from my friends and my nephew and nieces' friends. They go to college and they watch the show with their friends. All of my friends and familyt watch and they all like the show right now. Not in love with it but like it. Of all of them, I have heard no complaints about any of the newbies but Willow and jed. They think Jed is boring and dull. I told them that Jed was a recurring character and they were angry but I stressed to them he probably wouldn;t last long. Willow they laugh at alot but they think she is just a waste and are confused by what she does alot of the time. Other then that, they are fine with everyone. Many people I know are in love with JS and BB. They also love Benji when he is on. I have hardly seen any people bring up that they are upset with the newbies. The stories being slow? Yes. The big 4 being off? Yes. Hardly anything about the newbies. During the fall, there were some but since then very little of anything.

    • Yeah, not sure why Jack and Jen didn’t rush to Marlena - or even Carrie - to offer their condolences. A few flashbacks would've been a nice touch too. Instead, we got a whole episode of them talking about Chad and Abby? Come on. On the bright side, I loved Anna’s scenes with Marlena and Carrie - sweet and heartfelt, felt like a real 80s throwback.
    • Martin and Smitty were designed to avoid the stereotype of gay men sleeping around (which to an extent is true). If you recall Martin had a line about them not being open when Chelsea came to talk to him. The producers are walking a very fine line right now and it might not be popular to say but I can understand it. Establishing enough footing to ward off complaints will let them showcase gay characters more openly later.
    • The week was decent. They have started to rotate their stories and finally got a rhythm going. I disagree about them allowing every character to have a moment to shine though. Nicole really hasn't been given anything to do. I completely agree with all this. I adore Doug and hope he makes it through.

    • There was the one appearance in '96, but otherwise, that's correct as far as I know.

Question for the B&B group: I see @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded multiple seasons from Videoland  (in the folders that are to be put away). They are huge folders and difficult to download so I started breaking them down into months but I realized they are by season so for example, Season 4 spans from March 1990 to March 1991. Now I'm wondering where to actually place them, since we have the Full Episodes section divided by year, not seasons. And most of these seasons we already have in full, so these are duplicates. Not sure if it's necessary to keep the older versions. I could just make another new section for Seasons, so the main folders would be "Behind the Scenes and Interviews," "Clips," "Full Episodes," "Full Seasons," "Music CDs," and "photo archive Marquise" but I'm not sure that really makes sense. Also wondering since we have almost every full episode now if "Clips" can be deleted in its entirety, as it's nearly 300GB.
    • CBS moving Murder, She Wrote from Sunday to Thursday was straight up sabotage. Les Moonves knew exactly what he was doing.
    • I sure hope you’re right. The lack of sets is maddening!
