WOW!

DID ANYONE NOTICE HER COMMENTS ABOUT "MICHAEL RICHARDS"???

BLACKS WERE UPSET THAT SHE DEFENDED HIM.

THIS IS REALLY INTERESTING:

Syracuse Adams:

O.K., let’s talk about Michael Richards and the radio listeners who were upset that you defended him using the “N” word.

[s.W.S.N.B.N.]:

I didn’t defend him using the “N” word. What I said is that as a Black woman and mother of black sons, I’m more offended by the blatant colorism on BET and the self-hatred that causes black rappers and black male media figures to demonize, disrespect, disallow and lie on black women—yet they have the nerve to castigate Michael Richards and demand that I should be more disgusted by Michael Richards than I am by Michael Jackson, Montel Williams, color struck whining ass Taye Diggs or Ward Connerly. What Michael Richards did in that comedy club didn’t bother me one bit, because I’m not a “N”—the word doesn’t describe me, and I can relate to being out of control and cursing people out and using the wrong language to do so. Richards was wrong, but this nation went overboard in punishing him, and that’s my honest opinion, because if we really had respect for the humanity of black people, we’d cancel BET and stop supporting these self-hating black men who really do hate and undermine black people.

Syracuse Adams:

Do black women writers hate black men?

[s.W.S.N.B.N.]:

No—black men hate their damned selves. We’re just angry because we’re so disappointed in the destruction black men bring to black culture, and then blame it on the white man. It’s tiresome as hell, but the only man I’ve ever loved is black and I’m grateful for our two sons. The real problem in African-American culture is the colorist hatred that black men have for black women and children, but because of sexism, that fact goes overlooked.

Oh, thanks! :) I think Darlene Conley looks so queenly and glam in that pic, so that's why I chose it. Her passing has been in the back of my mind all week -- to me, she embodied B&B as much as Stephanie Flannery does. I will miss what she brought to Daytime because she was unlike any other character on the soaps. Kinda like what [s.W.S.N.B.N.] is proposing for Daytime, really.

It still stuns me to think that somebody who is viewed as so markedly "different" actually represents returning to Daytime what it has lost over the past decade! I'm not really concerned with Ms. Boof's past, I just love what she's saying about Daytime and the erudite, forceful, no BS manner in which she is saying it. Plus, Days those few months she wrote some of it was Must-See. Like, overnight, the show leapt forward in intelligence, consistency and entertainment.

Having said that, those books you mentioned have got me really intrigued! I am off to search for them on Amazon right now. :)

ETA: I think [!@#$%^&*] would be phenom in Hogan's writing team at days but, failing that, she would do wonders at OLTL, AMC, GH, GL, ATWT -- even B&B.

I would be willing to give her chance, but her unstability kills me. I do give her a WORD on her comments toward that joke known as BET. However, I disagree with her notion on Michael Richards. It was more than just the "N" word for me. But that's another issue all together, so yeah...GO [!@#$%^&*]! Whoo.

Count me in on the totally agree with BET notion. BET is a JOKE.

Instead of developing original programming for the network, the show continues to perpetuate stereotypes and the "N" word as well.

[!@#$%^&*] should try to pitch a soap to cable television. MyNetworkTV or FOX could use a daytime lineup.

[!@#$%^&*] is mad at NBC because, like a lot of us who watches DAYS or have watched DAYS in the past, this show is a part of us. It's a part of our childhood, part of our teenaged years, part of our adulthood. We remember stuff like "One Stormy Night," "Buried Alive," "Possession," etc. I wouldn't even LIKE soaps if DAYS hadn't introduce me to the genre. Even though I don't tune in every day, something would just be WEIRD about daytime if DAYS was over.

I'd just love to meet this woman. She seems SO passionate about soaps and about daytime. We NEED people like Burton Armus, [s.W.S.N.B.N.] and Christian McLauglin in daytime. Each and every one of these folks have stories about how daytime inspired them to be writers, or at least the latter two. Christian McLaughlin describes on his website(in great detail) how he mimmicked Morgan Fairchild's Jennifer Pace falling through a glass door on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW in his bedroom on his bed. LOL. THESE are the kind of people I want in daytime. People who care enough about the genre to share these stories, what they mean to them, and KNOW that they can provide the entertainment.

Maybe Boof will get a development deal with NewsCorp's FOX or MyNetworkTV, CW, or even something on another cabler.

Daytime isn't looking for people who want to write soaps, sadly.

She has huge ovaries. :lol::lol::lol:

Hey EricaKanefan4life, does [!@#$%^&*] interact with her fans? I want her to know about my petition to be on Oprah. I think we'd be a genesis of creativity. I like her vision of storytelling. It's similar to mine. I need to attract her attention. I'm also trying to birth my own soap opera but one baby step at a time.

If GL wants to remain true to its roots, they'll grow some balls and hire THIS WOMAN to help continue GL's legacy. This is the modern-day Irna Phillips. It's been 70 years and the world of technology & entertainment has completely changed. We need someone to revamp, revolutionize, revitalize this genre. Want some buzz, GL? Hire [s.W.S.N.B.N.]!!!

DEIDRE HALL was not happy with [s.W.S.N.B.N.]'s comments.

Comments: Nothing you ever say is pretty. I've read your posts on a board where you have your own forum - and found you to be one of the most nasty, disgusting, racist, lying pools of vomit I've ever had the misfortune to come across. I thank God that Days and NBC didn't hire your sorry untalented ass and I hope I never hear your name again. Bye [!@#$%^&*]! Don't let the sanity hit you in the ass on the way out... Cathleen Jean Paradis Deidre Hall's Fan Club President *Deidre Hall asked me to post this.

That would be CJ from the "Marlena & Friends" board.

I sincerely doubt that Deidre told CJ to call [!@#$%^&*] a nasty, disgusting, racist lying pool of vomit. I mean, I could be wrong... but something here makes me REALLY doubt it. :)

I wonder if Deidre knows about this?

    • Eeek. I didn't know this either! I will say, though, even though they skimmed over a lot of Roger's past, I will give them props for not trying to turn him into a hero. Yeah, I was hoping we would get more 1986 episodes than were available on YT before, but now I'm wondering if I really want to see that.
    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited. And @errol said JHC is working in a nonproduction capacity at Y&R.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.
