Best Daytime Drama: GLAAD awards

I was reading an article about this Grey's Anatomy drama and in the article it mentioned that GLAAD nominated them for one of their awards and so I clicked on the link: http://www.glaad.org/publications/resource...ail.php?id=3953 to read all the nominees and noticed the soap award.

AMC, ATWT, GH, and PSNS are nominated.

I'm going to say ATWT should win, even though they completely dropped the "Luke is gay" storyline. But whatever.

Go BROTHERS & SISTERS. That's all I really care about anyway...haha.

ATWT better win.

If PSNS wins for the angry dyke mob, I'll spit. Same for Sillimone.

GH... no. Yuck. That sucked.

And a big fat no to Zarf on AMC. I post on several "homosexual" message boards and you wouldn't believe the incredibly NEGATIVE response this storyline got. It's so convoluted. A very effeminate man believes himself to be a woman who just so happens to also be a lesbian? C'mon now. idiotic.

I look for PSNS to score a repeat win.

There has been a lot of great scenes with Rae and Simone questioning theirselves about kids, marraige, homosexuality in the church etc. I can honestly say that JER has written their story true to real life.

Sure there was a lesbian revolt, but I think that will actually go over well with the voters. Who says that homosexual stories always have to be serious? Gays can do comedy too ;)

From everything I have read and researched AMC's story is straight from real life. There is even a transsexual poster on another board I frequent who says those type of transsexuals actually exist. She says they are in the minority but they do exist. She says other than Zarf acting over the top on some occasions and a few minor problems that AMC has handled the story pretty well.

I was watching a show on Here Saturday night and on their show Sexplorations they did a story on a transexual porn star who was a woman. She always felt that she was a man. As a woman she was attracted to both men and women and had sex with both. Now as a transsexual man she married a woman but still has sex with men. She is bisexual. BTW the woman that he married is a very masculine-looking woman who looks more like a man than some men I know. So they look almost like a male/male couple to me.

I know at first when I heard that Zarf wanted to be a woman and was going to be a lesbian I couldn't figure it out. I just assumed that anyone who wanted to change genders was automatically be in love with the opposite sex and would want to do it so they could have sex with the opposite sex and maybe not face a public stigma for it. But from what I understand that is not always the case.

I think the Zarf/Zoe storyline on AMC has been done really well so far...the coming out process anyway. I just didn't consider that 2006 for AMC, as most of the coming out scenes were the first week of 2007.

But if they are considering that stuff as their nomination scenes - then AMC or ATWT should win. I can't comment on PSNS, but I know for a fact that GH should NOT win for the way they treated their gay storyline.

Passions has shown nothing but the utmost respect for the gay community. As a gay man, I found the lesbian revolt hilarious and empowering. The Edna/Norma scenes at the lesbian bar were to die for...loved them!! :)

And the Simone/Rae relationship has been very realistic and honest. I love it.

I'm sorry I agree with Rick and others. I feel JER handled the gay stories very well on Passions. I don't see the disrespect that some are seeing. I think so many people are mad at JER about his last tenure on Days that they automatically see everything he does as bad. This is one time that everything he did was not bad.

As much as I love AMC's story I feel next year is their year.

I think ATWT will win this year for the Luke story.

OK, the Simone/Rae relationship, I'll give you. That hasn't been handled badly. I'm mainly referring to Charlie and the lesbian army in Rome.

With that said, I'm not clouded by my hatred of JER's second time on DAYS. I know when what I'm seeing is bad, and 97.5% of what I've seen from JER in just the last year alone has been bad. I give him credit where credit is due, though. Zack's death on DAYS was very good until Morgan Island, and I love Luis & Fancy on PASSIONS. But I am being objective where JER is concerned.

    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
