Zap2it.com is reporting the official announcement, its last episode will be Feburary 22nd. There was talk that it would move to the CW, but the producers decided to end it now.

I hate this I loved the first season and this year has been just as good if not better.

Well, its certainly not surprising.

I lost all my interest in the show towards the end of season 1. But I did catch one or two episodes this season and I thought it was back to what it was when it first started.

I guess it is better to end it now then fade away later on.

Noooooo! Just when it FINALLY gets good again, the producers of all people decide to end it?! Are you kidding me?!

I figured this would be the last season, but it would have been nice for the producers and fox to at least finish out the season and end in may...I would have liked to see more of Ryan and Taylor, as they have breathed new life into the show...

I figured this would be it too since Fox only ordered 16 episodes, did they really think that it was going to have the same ratings that it had last season going up against Greys and CSI?

though it has been good lately. this is definately no shocker and was inevitable. by the second season most people i knew though it would only last till they were done high school. and then with the news that Rachel Bilson would be leaving this season it really doesn't surprise me. and i don't know about anyone lese but the scenes where summer and seth get engaged were badly done in my opinion. I do really love taylor though she so freakin awesome. and i am happy that it'll at least end while the show is actually good

Wow that sucks. But honestly, I bailed out after the first season.

not suprised at all though...FOX sux when it comes to the way they handle their shows. I too, was really into the first season, and tried to watch the start of the second season, but I just couldn't. It didn't live up to that first year.

As much as I hate it, I have to agree that this isn't really a surprise to me either. I guess I was just hoping that somehow this would (miraculously) not be the last season.

The CW is still interested. It would make sense because of Warner Bros. Seriously, that would guarantee an audience for them. CW loved the idea of the Gilmore Girls & Veronica Mars pairing so next season they could do the One Tree Hill & The O.C. pairing. Who would have guessed that OTH would last longer than The O.C.?

I could definitely see The O.C. on The CW, so I wonder why that didn't work out. As for OTH, I don't watch it, but just based on its ratings, I'm guessing it won't be lasting too much longer than The O.C.

And OTH wins! Regardless if this is its final season (I dunno, with the demos), it will have still outrun it's competitor and counterpart.
