With the changes, here's what ATWT's writing team will look like:

Jean Passanante

Leah Laiman

Lisa Connor

David A. Levinson (who will also sometimes write scripts)

Courtney Simon

Susan Dansby

Richard Culliton

Peter Brash

It's a small staff but ATWT should be having new additions pretty soon. ;)

:P You tease!

Toups, why is Jean still there? Do you have any clue why???

Sorry, I've got nothing here. :(

It must be some love potion she is using.....LOL  The Hack has outstayed her welcome. She needs to be fired.....Goutman too for allowing this to continue.....Hacks!!

I find it hilarious how skeletal ATWT's writing staff is. This is the show, after all, which used to have an absurdly OBESE writing staff.

Exhibit A: Actual credits from August 2001

Written by

Hogan Sheffer

Carolyn Culliton

Hal Corley

Stephen Demorest

Jeff Beldner

Tom Reilly

Courtney Simon

Judith Donato

Susan Dansby

Lynn Martin

Judy Tate

Laura Maria Censabella

Marie Masters

Meg Kelly

Elizabeth Page

Richard J. Allen

LOL Kubla Kahn so true, and it was a good writing team also.

I've gotta confess, that I've always had trouble understanding those credits. Aside from the obvious that Culliton was his Co-HW. So were Corley, Demorest, Beldner, and Reily the breakdowns? Simon was the script editor or something? Also from Donato down to the last writer listed, Allen, they all were script writers right?

Correct.

That was an amazing staff but 9 script writers was pretty ridiculous.

Correct. :)

I know that having nine script writers during that time was INSANE and a pain in the rear end for everyone involved, for various reasons. A writing staff doesn't need to be that big...ever! It was Chris Goutman's fault, too. I think the man is a talented producer in some regards, but he has no idea how to manage and handle a creative team. The amount of writers' turnover that has happened under this man for the last eight years has been nuts. He does NOT know good writing, period. The show sucks, sucks, sucks right now and he needs to be shown the door, along with...

Jean P. Who won't go anywhere unless, yes, Chris Goutman goes first. The two are B.F.Fs., and I don't understand why, because she's a total nutbag and a pain to work for (allegedly ;)) Ask Victor Miller, Addie Walsh, Gail Lawrence, or anyone from her old AMC team what they think of her -- and trust me, they'd have stories to tell.

At ATWT, Jean P. at least has some of her looney friends to work with. Is it surprising that so many ATWT writers have gladly hopped ship to work for Hogan again? Nope! As if they would want to stay with Jean P's House of Pain!

As much as I hated people like MADD, I think it was a bad decision for P&G to get rid of the Executive In Charge of Production position. I know that if someone competent were in that position now, we'd definitely have two overall great shows out of GL and ATWT.

Co-sign.

Agreed. As much as I hated MADD, I hate to think that she was perhaps the stop gap for Jean and Davie's more absurd ideas. Where's Ed Trach when you need him?

The Beth Milstein praise just irks me. I know her work from the 80's and 90's. She is ok but she isn't great. Yes, she knows the history and characters but she was brought on to "hold the fort" and Hogan opted to keep her on after he began. All she did was tie up JER's stories and set up Hogan's. She wrote no new stories and that is why I can't jump on her bandwagon completely. I would rather Sheri, Paula, or Peter were made co-HW since they have more experience and have shown their talents for writing their own stories in the recent times we are in.

Beth wrote on her own for 2 months so I think she is horribly overhyped. Days does need people who know the show on staff so her ouster does sting but they can also find better IMO. I think Hogan kept her on as a historian of sorts and now feels he and his team know enough to get by. Maybe it was a cost cutting measure as well.

I think the Beth love stems in part from the doubt that Sheffer or Corday will bring anyone to the show like Anderson, Brash, etc. Beth was the best Days had in terms of history, even if she was overrated she was as good as we had it at, up until recently, present. It's one thing if we had any faith in Corday to rehire Sheri &etc, but we don't, and this is just a further blow to continuity.

Speaking of Hogan's ATWT writing staff, does anyone know what happened to Tom Reilly? Who was/is he? Where did he come from? I haven't seen his name pop up anywhere since he left.

I don't know where this comes from originally, but I guess there is a new rumor going around that JP and CG have until November to fix ATWT ratings wise and the show or the they are both out of a job.
