Terri Ivens and DOOL

Simone (Terri Ivens) just died on AMC, and I'm hoping that Days picks her up! She and James Scott played such a phenominal couple on AMC as Simone and Ethan, that I think it would be great if these two paired up again on a soap as a couple. I'm thinking EJ needs a new lady love! :D

I have to be completely honest, I LOVE Terri Ivens, and would really like her on Days, but we do not need anymore newbies on Days right now. I mean, Days is already having to make budget cuts possibly for Eileen Davidson, Joe Mascolo and Louise Sorel, but also they have to make budget cuts just because they have to as well.

We already have plenty of people/newbies on Days with Nick and Willow, we don't need to be come like OLTL and have a whole batch of them.

jflval, I think that is an excellent idea. I love Terri Ivens. She has great range and was totally wasted at AMC. She resides in LA and I think the soap format is suited well to her lifesyle as a wife and mother.

Days has let go several actors, but I suppose there are several reasons, chief among them being salary and storyline direction of the new Head Writer. Although I do think it is possible for Eileen Davidson to be returning for a limited run to the show, I doubt that JM or LS will be back.

Days does have need of women. With Lexie, Bonnie, Carrie, Stephanie, Jennifer and possibly Mimi all gone, the show NEEDS some women. I would trade Willow for a character played by Terri anyday.

Days is hardly newbie-central these days. The only new characters we've been introduced to this year are Willow, Stephanie, Nick and EJ. And they've all been introduced into existing character's storylines, not in their own set. And Stephanie is going off contract and recurring.

Bring on Ivens.

I kinda agree with Drew. Newbies aren't that bad so long as they are not shoved down our throats and are not in a horrendous storyline. Technically DAYS does not have a horrible SL now (rare! But true!!) so a new character wouldn't be bad. New characters DO work sometimes. EJ is a perfect example of this. He was weaved in perfectly and drew interest without dominating the scene. DAYS can do it again... after all... Kristen was a new character, just a simple social worker who just came to town and started mixing things up with John when Marlena was pregnant with Belle!!

Well, I disagree. EJ should be paired with no one. That man should be used for two things: evil plots and to be a piece of meat who parades around shirtless and sleeps with AT least a different woman, once a week. He should definitely have orgies, too. I see him as all about mischief and pleasure. Therefore he should plot and NEVER have an honest relationship. EJ, at his best, should be stiff at all times, shamelessly spreading his love ALL over Salem. With EVERY woman in sight, except for perhaps Marlena. But day players, Billie, Chelsea, Kate, Sami, Willow, Mimi...they ALL should have a piece of him. In a perfect world, that's the way it would be. Also, EJ's bedroom should LITERALLY have a revolving door, just to boost his sex appeal.

I do resent the influx of new characters when so many of the vets are leaving but it will create a problem.

Men without women:

Abe

Roman

Victor

Philip

EJ

Reportedly coming:

Connor Lockhart

Rumored to be coming:

Dr. Mike Horton and Jeremy

Uncertain status:

Benji

I liked Terri Ivens on AMC and she was never given the chance to show what she can do as an actress while working there. I think she could play an excellent Dimera, Kiriakis, Drake or Alamain...

If DOOL has to bring in new blood I would like for it to be someone with talent and Terri would definitely be an asset to the show.

More like a gay "month." :)

Anyway, i was thinking about this yesterday and, EJ, if on "Passions," based on the character's money and power and being a spoiled brat his whole life, AND having loose morals that are based on pleasure and power, would TOTALLY be into the leather and S&M scene and all those freaky sexual rituals. It would be hilarious if "Days" had such fun with the character and we saw him decked in leather and whipping a group of girls.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
