As the residents of Oakdale head into 2007, we went to ATWT headwriter Jean Passanante to find out if they should look forward to the new year...or approach it warily!

Watch Out Carly!

Having fallen in love with Simon, Carly must not only deal with her lingering feelings for Jack, but the fear that he'll discover her role in Simon's Jewel heist. "Carly and Simon think that they're off the hook because they've gotten rid of the diamond" Passanante explains. "But of course, little Sage has the diamond in her possession. So we're just waiting for the other shoe to drop," And sooner or later, it will.

Can Katie Win back Mike?

Katie is determined to see Carly and Simon Punished for their crime. But is this really about revenge? As far as Carly goes, it could be," the scribe admits. "Lets face it: Katie's logic is not totally rational. But in the back of her mind, Katie is thinking, "If I get Simon behind bars and gone, he ceases to be an issue, and Mike will understand how sorry I am." But is it too late to save her troubled marriage?

Adam & Gwen Grow Closer!

Will's support of his wife's music career will soon be tested as Gwen spends more and more time with Adam. "Obviously, there is some building tension there," The scribe teases. "And it's a situation that certainly has the potential to become explosive." Tossing Gwen's mother into the mix only serves to fan the flames. " Iris considers Will to be an obstacle between her and Gwen," Passanate says, "Although she's certainty willing to play along with Will if she thinks there's a payday involved for her!" And Iris isn't the only troublemaker around as Jade's Jealousy gets the best of her!

Casey's New Addiction

Oakdales favorite young lovers will take a detour on the road to happiness. "Casey's getting a little distracted by a little demon inside him," says the writer, "which is over-enthusiasm for playing poker on-line. And Maddie won't see it for a while. "When the truth comes out, will Maddie stand by her man...or decide he's not worth the gamble?

Snyder Family Crisis

Holden may not have been cheating on her, but Lily's issues with her appearance continue to have a negative impact on their marriage... and beyond. "What I should probably say about that is that it's something that's private and personal to Lily." Explains Passanante, " but it has much broader implications in the family. So it becomes multigenerational family story."

Dusty and Craig's Final Showdown!

The Battle over Baby Johnny heats up as Dusty and Craig both remain determined to win sole custody of the little boy. "The wild card at this point in the story is Lucy," Teases the scribe. She's in the worst position imaginable, what with being caught between her father and the man she loves in terms of their clear intentions destroy each other one way or another, with this baby at the heart of the matter. so pressure will be applied to Lucy in a way that will take a surprising turn."

The End of Paul and Meg?

Emily stopped his wedding, but Paul isn't giving up on Meg. Does the same still hold true for the bride to be? Meg has pretty much had it with him," Passanate admits. " But the situation accelerates because of forces beyond either of their control. Paul's dark side, as we know, kind of gets in the way of his successful relationships over and over again."

2007 is not looking good at all, so far...

This is all about the storys we're watching now. So the "previews" would be for Jan-Feb not the whole year. Of course they have to finish what they've started. It's not anything new. Nothing we didn't already know or couldn't figure out ourselves. I don't really see a point with these previews.

Yeah it's only for Jan-Feb, because February is when sweeps kicks off. Atleast these boring stories should soon be coming to an end.

I know it's only for the first couple months of 2007, but I just don't want it to be a sign of things to come.

Remember, ATWT doesnt' do sweeps, these stories could drag on FOREVER. Remember how it has been this year. Even before it went to crap in the second half the stories have been dragging FOREVER. I remember that baby switch was pure torture towards the end.

Except for the Lily storyline, everything else is more or less what we are watching right now. How Boring!

I don't think I can take anymore of the storylines that we have going on now....Maybe the one thing I would watch is the Lily storyline because it will impact Faith, but other than that, everything else is a bunch of junk..

None of these storylines are even remotely interesting.

Yeah, ATWT doesn't do sweeps. Usually, the good stuff happens after sweeps, so we probably won't get anything good until March.

I used to complain that the pace of the storylines was too fast during Hogan's tenure, but now it's too slow! Seriously nothing ever happens on ATWT anymore :-(

Man, I didn't think the show could sink any lower.
