Y&R/Days: TV Guide Interview with Eileen Davidson

TVGuide.com: Like when Ash stole Victor's frozen sperm to secretly have their daughter, Abby?Davidson: Actually, that never bothered me as much as it did other people. I understood the rationale for that. Granted, maybe Ashley wouldn't have stolen someone's sperm, but with the story arc that I think [Y&R's former headwriter]Kay Alden had in mind, it would have made sense over time, had it played out. But there's been a shift in writers, so it stopped abruptly and we were taken in another direction. It happens, but that hadn't happened on our show before. There had always been continuity because of the vision of [Y&R's late co-creator, William J. Bell]. show. As soon as you change writers, you change the vision and it becomes anybody's ball game.

What is she talking about here? She said that she regretted playing the sperm story because it ruined her character before. It wouldn't have made sense at all, no matter who wrote it. Nobody wants to see that nonsence.

TVGuide.com: If you didn't mind the stolen sperm thing, where did you feel your character went astray?

Davidson: Although I loved working with Roscoe Born, I had a problem with Ashley planting drugs on Tom Fisher. I also didn't like Ashley losing her mind just long enough to think Victor was falling love with her, then being rebuffed by him and yet still pining for him. It was just weird. I also wasn't crazy about Brad's character sleeping with Olivia when Ashley had breast cancer. It was an icky way to finish that lovely storyline about breast cancer.

IA about Brad/Olivia. But she had a problem with planting drugs over stealing sperm :blink:

TVGuide.com: It's true. Ashley is a woman who carries herself with dignity. She wouldn't be pushy and intrusive.

Davidson: No! If she's not wanted, she wouldn't embarrass herself. That's Gloria, not Ashley.

Ouch :lol::lol:

TVGuide.com: Maybe Gloria's sabotage will come out someday. Y&R is famous for leaving story points unresolved and then bringing up the history years later.

Davidson: Well, my point is I won't be there on the show to play it!

You know what happens when an actor says that "anything can happen." A few months later, BAM! They are on the show :D

If that isn't proof that Davidson's coming back, I'm not sure what it is.

Exactly and for me it's not a matter of if she will return but when.

I agree she should only be Susan in the beginning to explain the EJ stuff and then she should be Kristen.

I thought Eileen made a good point about Stafford playing the mother of a actor in his twenties. This was a very enlightening interview and she seems very displeased with the way her exit is written and I feel the same way. I guess it's better then killing another Abbott or making her Carmen's killer.

I disagree. Eileen should play both Kristen and Susan on a regular basis, and maybe have Sister Mary Moira appear every few months. Thomas should appear at least once, and Penelope should appear as a ghost.

It looks like the speculation that she was seeking out an opportunity to return to Days is false, as she said she doesn't watch or have any clue what's going on there, except for the new writing staff. It also looks like the claims that she wanted out of Y&R is false as well, as she said she would've liked to stay and complete Ashley's rivalry with Gloria.

You are SO WRONG.

You obviously didn't read the interview or don't know how to read between

the lines.

Anyhoo---I can promise you that she is coming back to DAYS as soon as her agent and Wyman

get the deal negotiated. She basically HINTED that all through the interview.

Watch what I tell you.

First of all, bless you for taking the time to post this incredible interview by an amazing lady. If I didn't love Eileen Davidson, I do now. Actress like her make it worth-while. Nancy Lee Grahn is another woman who don't take no mess! I only wish Renee Elise Goldsberry had even guts to question what her character is doing these days.

Thanks again, love!

This was one of the best interviews I have EVER read!

OMG OMG OMG OMG

I know this wasn't official confirmation, but it was good enough for me!! Can't wait for 2007! :D

She's better off.

I hope she's not being written off with this stupid reality show nonsense the show started yesterday.

Im not watching Y&R anymore. What is this about?

Why tarnish great history? The Banks quads were a once in a lifetime thing. Bringing them back will only worsen the story. Be lucky you might get Susan back for a short time.

As much as I loved the Banks', I have to agree that it probably wouldn't be a good idea to bring them back. Kristen is really the only ED character needed at this point.

Eileen Davidson is a fantastic actress, and with what I read she knows all of her characters so well. Not every actor is like that. She is one of the best

OMG!! This whole part of the conversation is FASCINATING!

I agree. Drake sees her at the gym all the time? AS IF. Corday planted him there. I don't buy for a second that such a coincidence could occur. "All the time?" HA! Pshaw!!! Hrmph!!! NEVA.

I disagree. Eileen should play both Kristen and Susan on a regular basis, and maybe have Sister Mary Moira appear every few months.

Oh, I'm sorry I don't have your insider information and isn't as "well connected" as you are.

Well, it is pretty heavily hinted at in that interview.

Im not watching Y&R anymore. What is this about?

Ashley was contacted by some "Project Runway" wannabe reality show called "Extreme Catwalk" and asked if she would be a guest judge. When she turned them down, they called Gloria and of course, she got all giddy and excited and said yes. Today, we had Amber and Jana and Gloria and the whole Baldwin clan going on and on and having orgasms about their show. "That's my favorite show on the telly!" says Jana with her fake British accent having tail.

Y&R is stupid for letting Eileen Davidson go and not finding a story for her. But that's all this new regime seems to be doing, making stupid decisions.

Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!

How cool is it that Eileen and Drake still see each other, and outside of work they are talking about DAYS storylines! BWAAHAHAHAHAH! Love it! She is so coming back.

I can't wait. It's unbelievable that this is (probably) happening... It's like a dream come true!
