Just watched the clip. Kelly, can you BE more annoying.

Looks to me like Rosie spanked Kelly more than the other way around.

Did we watch the same clip? LOL Rosie got ganged up on even by her co-hosts - she was the one who got spanked and put in her place. She just had to bring the gay card out and I'm sick of it. Kelly was so in the right for getting upset and everyone knows it.

The whole thing sucks though - I know Rosie and Kelly have been friends ever since their AMC days...I hope they can make up - you can tell Rosie felt bad as she was tearing up on the show.

Though I don't believe Kelly made the remark with his sexuality in mind, I can see Rosie's point of view on this. It's not what Kelly said, but the way she said it. I could easily see where Rosie would have inferred that it was a shot at his sexuality. I felt bad for Rosie- I've been the gay person in that situation and it's not a whole lot of fun. She has a right to her feelings, yet Kelly & the panel didn't seem to think so. Just because someone's point of view is different from your own doesn't make it invalid, which I think is what Rosie eventually was trying to get across.

Homophobic is a strong word, one that should not be thrown around lightly. While I don't think her actions were homophobic in nature, I could see where people might find Kelly's remarks offensive.

I see your point - but the thing is that Homophobic IS such a strong word - and for Rosie to accuse Kelly of that for the entire world to see...its damaging to her character and celebrity. Kelly just wanted to go on the record and defend herself against what Rosie was accusing her of. She definitely had that right to straighten things out before people start assuming Kelly is a homophobe and damage her career. Kelly is definitely not homophobic.

Ya know?

Oh, no, I completely agree that Kelly Ripa had every right to call in & defend herself, absolutely. That was the point I was making at the end- Rosie should have chosen her words more carefully. It would have been better to say "as a gay woman I was offended by what she said" - that would have been more accurate, since that really was the point she was trying to make. I understand Kelly & the girls taking objection to the use of the word 'homophobic' but that doesn't give them the right to dismiss what Rosie was saying altogether, which they did.

 I KNOW! Tell me about it! I still have the first merge episode saved on my DVR- I love watching Brad pick JP! Best moment for me, all season.

"You go boy!" was said by all the gay men in America when he did that. And it pays off too. Notice JP helping him out with the octopus that is wrapped around his.........lower self.

I'm salivating at seeing him on the reunion show. CAN'T EFFING WAIT!

She did get ganged up on, but I liked at the end when she was like "Listen. This is about View's. I made mine. KELLY I GET YOUR POINT!" Haha. Kelly was just kind of screaming and going on like a repetitive mad woman.

It was seriously the best thing I've seen in daytime in a very long time!!! It made me feel happy inside.

I am looking for the clip on youtube right now. I have to side with Kelly Ripa on this one, what Clay Aiken did was wrong on so many levels, first and foremost you are a "GUEST" Host on that show and you have no right to "shut up" the host of the show like he did. I think Kelly was stunned that it happened and Clay knew it was wrong because he said,

"Oh no, I'm in trouble."

Plus it was right after he had already made a comment that Kelly should tell him when he could talk. Kelly was stunned and I think played it off with, "I don't know where that hand has been."

Rosie took that statement from Kelly as a homophobic one...which was not in the case, I'm a gay man and I would have said the same thing to man, woman, straight, bi, gay...it does not matter, you don't do something so disrespectful like that.

Kelly was called or called and basically tore into Rosie, "You know better." At one point I thought Rosie was going to cry. I mean not everything is about being gay or straight, it is sad that we live in that type of world, when a high profile star like that makes it into something it clearly was not. Rosie would not like it if one of her guest hosts covered her mouth, I don't care what she says.

Another funny thing about this is right before Kelly called, Joy was talking about the feud going on between Rosie and Kirstie Alley at the moment. Joy said that Rosie threw down first, which is so true. Why does Rosie think she has to speak up about everything, especially other women's weight...leave it alone!!!

Great post, I completely agree!

If anyone stuck their hand over my mouth it would get bitten. I'm sorry but that's one of the most disrespectful and rude things you can do to someone. I have to say Kelly is right she didn't know where his hand had been, which is NOT about homophobia at all, it'd be more about germophobia if anything.

I think Rosie was way out of line with her homophobe comments and I'm glad Kelly stuck to her guns. I was loving Joy's comments

I really don't see the big deal with what happened. It was a joke. Hellooooo. Kelly, stop being annoying. Clay, stop being creepy. Rosie, I am kind of starting to like you again and that thought is too much for me to handle right now!

Well Clay had already *MADE* the joke earlier before the hand over mouth thing. He shifted in his chair and said, "You let me know when I can talk." So the joke had been made, Kelly had taken the point. Should she had shut up, yes...but that is Kelly and Clay knew that when he went on there, that there was a chance she would control the whole interview which she did.

Now, this is a good drama. lol

Kelly may be annoying and talk too much...but Clay acts prissy - so they're both annoying. If some "stranger" - one that was annoying me - put their hand over my mouth like that they would have got punched!

It's basically Kelly's show (Regis's show, but she's the co-host), he should have just shut-up if she wouldn't shut-up and complain about her later in a magazine or something.

Rosie, she should have handled the situation privately. Once she put it out like that on The View, Kelly had every right to take the road she did.
