Yeah I LOVED that scene. It was gripping and just so emotional. These two really do go way back.

I'd love it if DAYS ever did a crazy FAN-tasy episode like OLTL used to do and mixed up all of its super couples for a day. Reckell and Hall would be hot.

You just gave me a GREAT idea for an upcoming episode of As Days Go By that I was planning. I wanted to do an episode, kind of like what ABC does with their soaps where the soap used to air those fantasy episodes to change things up. That's a great idea, King!

I'm confused Jinxed Soul. Were Belle, Victor and Claire on today? I don't remember that. They are supposed to be on Monday, though and were on yesterday or the day before. Today was all about Steve and Kayla, Hope and Bo, Hope and Steve and Marlena and Bo and the cop shop. If Victor was on today, I totally slept through it.

I believe that Claire is actually Philip's also.

I'm so sorry, DFJ! Sometimes I watch the episodes on regular (cable) channels, and usually on satelite, depending on my schedule. I watched this one on satelite, which is infact a day-ahead episode. Sorry! You will see that on Monday. I didn't mean to spoil it for anyone :( A great episode, nonetheless.

And, if Claire is not going to end up being Phillip's, then the writers need to fastrack Belle and Shawn's relationship, and Shawn's involvement in his daughter's life. I don't want to spoil anything, but watch Monday's episode and I think most of you will get a better view of what I mean. I'll talk about it Monday.

Claire will never be Philip as long as Ken Corday is around, he loves Shelle and they finally had a child so he would never give that up, never.

At times I just wish the next Corday heir or someone would take Corday's place, because as time goes on there is more and more stuff I don't like about him. <_<

Actually, Corday doesn't love Shelle. Or at least he lied if he does. I think he did the barn scene just to appease the Shelle fans but there was no reason in the world to keep separating Belle and Shawn and especially like is being done now if he loved them.

What are you talking about? Corday LOVES SHELLE. He's been pimping this couple for 7 years now.

Drew is right. Corday has been pimping them since they were aged really. He really started hyping them in late 2000 and hasn't let up since. He loves that pairing.

The barn sex wreaked of JER.

I don't think Corday had much say there.

A good show. Not up to the new standards, but good. I just hate that this show was meant for Thursday instead of Friday. The good thing is Monday's show will be wild.

It's good to see Marlena & Bo starting up their friendship once again. They do really come off like they are brother and sister. The only time I remember Marlena being evry angry with Bo was after Roman "died" and he left his body there on the beach. It wouldbe nice to explore that once again. I also think her using what she did for Kayla was slightly out of place, but she loves John so much, she was willing to roll the dice. But, we all know John will have none of that. He is going after E.J., Patrick and anyone else who is trying to kill him and his loved ones.

I have a question though. TGH has tried to end Bo's career and frame him, tried to kill both Steve & Kalya, and tried to kill John & Marlena, caused Stefanie & Max's cars to explode, and killed Eve. Why haven't they went after Roman? He seems the only one who has been left unscathed.

This was a nice show...but i agree, not that exciting..This past week has been good..But i've really missed Sami...I'm hoping Hogan starts using her more...Sami is an important factor in the ratings...just like Bo/Hope, Steve/Kayla, and John/Marlena....

  • Member

I agree Kev but sami was on two days out of five this week and has been front burner for months so she is being used. I do think she is big next week though.

That is a great point Roman. There has to be something to that because even Abe and Lexie were targeted when TGH exposed her affair with Tek. I mean Sami was blackmailed but that isn't coming after Roman. It's interesting that Roman has not been targeted yet.

I'm sorry, Kev-bo (spreading Wonder Years love everywhere I go), but I just have to play Common Sense advocate for a second here. On what do you base these ratings factors? What makes character/couple A an important factor and character/couple B an unimportant factor?

As for Friday...Disclaimer: Ken Corday must---MUST!---have Hogan Sheffer tied up in a boiler room somewhere. I refuse to believe that Sheffer penned any of this crap.

-I adore Steve and Stephen Nichols. I think he's one of the show's best actors and has a penchant for spinning sub par writing into gold (or at least sterling silver), but this quarantined in a hospital room, kissing people alive sh!t is not working for me. It's so trite. And the purists will take issue with this, but I don't understand why he has to be with Kayla. Bringing characters back in pairs is so idiotic to me, because it's telling people the end of the story before the story even begins.

-Same thing with Belle and Shawn. Could two people be more wrong for each other? Or more masochistic?! It's like a dog that never learns the parameters of an electric fence.

-John: Make me a cop, Abe! Me: Oo, Abe! Make me a unicorn! Again, trite, sloppy, lazy writing.

-But despite the abounding amounts of thick, stench-ridden crap contained in the aforementioned scenes that were spoon-fed to the ever stagnant viewing audience, it's nice to know that all of that had a little luster, went down a little easier in comparison to Marlena. No, I don't like the woman. I think she has lovely hair, really nice teeth, is good to have around anytime the teeniest amount of self-confidence starts to creep up into Sami's life and needs immediate merciless destruction, but when you get down to it, she's a joke. She's part of what makes people laugh at the entire soap industry. She's exactly what Sheffer said she was: an icon. And like the ones on my desktop, completely arbitrary. You can see an icon, know what program its symbolic of, but is it, itself, the program? No. It's a reminder of the program, but it, alone, doesn't get you to utilize the program. Usually I'm more forgiving than this. There's a lot of bad writing on this show, spread out (unevenly) to virtually every character, and I know that and cut slack accordingly. But this one? Totally and utterly unsalvageable. J to the MO.

I disagree. I think it's evident that Hogan DID write this episode, and all the others. By the way, have any of you noticed more "male" (stereotype) injections in the guys' dialogue? Gosh, who knew when Hogan said he'd give the men their penises back he LITERALLY meant it? Honestly, how many times in two episodes did the guys at the police station refer to John as "half-COCKED?" And let's not forget John's line yesterday about "poking around" in information for the EJ case, clearly using phallic imagery. I just wonder what they'll think up next to remind us that the men of "Days" are strong, virile men with penises!

Yes, I noticed all the mature gentlemen standing around embracing the Barnaby Jones side of police work. And if Sheffer penned that drivel, then Corday's got him by the phallic symbol.

I have a feeling if the show only revolved around Kate, you would be singing a totally different tune. DAYS (and all the other soaps) don't need people who watch for one or a few characters.

Like Roman asked in another thread, if someone can't stand a show so much, then why watch it?
