From SOD:

DAYS vet Austin Peck has been tapped to resurrect the role of AS THE WORLD TURNS's Brad Snyder, last played by John Loprieno in 1999. The actor just finished airing as DAYS's Austin last week and will start taping in December. "I’m going to be an antagonist, which I think is more up my alley," says Peck. As for who he auditioned with, Peck is coy, explaining. "I cannot say. I would tell you, but I’ve been told to keep it quiet." For the full interview with the actor, check out the 11/14 issue of Soap Opera Digest.

QUOTE(Chris B @ Oct 31 2006, 07:35 PM)

This is SICK! He was painfully bad during his return on DAYS and I can't believe that ATWT a soap known for it's strong acting would cast him! I'm absolutely floored! I will definitely be fast forwarding all his scenes.

He definately showed improvement in his last stint. And he hardly had the best material to work with. I can imagine him doing really well in ATWT with better scripts.

I think he may have been worse. His performance during his final show, with Hogan's script was terrible. His "oh no you didn't" line about throwing Sami's ass out was laughable. And don't forget the initial reveal that Sami had lied to him and Carrie. The guy was terrible, just fading in the background while everyone else is acting their asses off.

ATWT should've saved the money, gotten a life size doll and dub Chris Goutman saying the lines. It would be more convincing that Peck merely speaking, or still learning to act.

It just pisses me off so much because ATWT has always had such a well respected cast. Why would they do this? Even the dayplayers are better than Peck.

Wow...happy for him. Last time he couldn't even get a job and this time he got one quickly.

I don't know if he fits the role but he did improve a bit in Days. However, the days when he is bad he is VERY bad. We never reallt got to see him do alot with good writing daily so maybe at ATWT he will perform better with better material. I will be curious to see how this turns out.

I hope CC gets anothet job too although there are rumors of her being a temporary recast for Passions's Gwen when Liza Huber leaves. I have a gut feeling CC will be back on Days, much like Matt Ashford. I don't know when but that is the feeling I got from both of their exits but whatever the case good for Peck. I hope he succeeds.

ATWT wanted a body. Soap execs and the network think we are mindless idiots and want to watch naked guys no matter how well they can act. As long as the majority of soap fans support these types of characters and the actors who play them, they will keep doing it.

I hope they don't plan on pairing Brad with Katie. Terri C. deserves a good acting partner.

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
    • Yesterday's show:   Can they give Ambyr Michelle the Emmy for supporting actress already?   Truly enjoyed the episode from Leslie and Eva, Eva and Ted, Nicole and Dani to Anita and Nicole.

    • Yes, I noticed after discovering Chandler was in several episodes. It's a shame it was canceled. I'm glad I was able to watch Chandler's episodes.
    • I'm Catholic, and I care, as do many who aren't Catholic. No need to be so nasty about it.. The whole episode was on Paramount Plus. That is where I watched it..
