Great acting by Yvonna Wright today. While what Rick did was horrible, I do think Mel made it seem for a long time that their marriage was over.

Amazing how Lizzie doesn't seem to care at all about what her mom is going through right now. She's also supposed to be really close to Rick, so where was her reaction today?

Alan & Beth are soo wrong for each other. I don't know what I'll think if Beth does stick around. Alan is so belittling of Beth. I don't even see why either of them would be so upset about Beth's affair. There's never been the notion that they loved or even pretended to love each other.

Oohh..that was some fight between Jonathan & Remy. They went full out with the choreography for that one and didn't make it the least bit pretty.

For all the Jammy haters, you got your "battered wife" comparison today. <_< Personally, I think it was off because Tammy & Jonathan seem to be on equal footing no when it comes to hurting each other. Loved Tammy yelling at Jonathan to "go home with your wife and baby!" Harsh.

Can Dinah please get a life? Loved how when she saw how upset Olivia looked, she assumed it was because of a man. I did love the scenes between those two, though. They both need friends.

I could take Mallet & Marina if that means no more Dinah & Mallet (those two just annoy the heck out of me right now).

Lizzie is a character. Any female who can turn on their mother, even one as nutty as Beth, is a shame.

Do you have any clips of the fight?

I'm glad Tammy has a backbone.

Alan needs to STFU. If anyone is battered,it's his troll.

I've linked the Jammy scenes (includes the Jon/Remy fight) below. Just right click and save.

The only other site I know (link right below) that clips entire episodes of GL is RoseVioletDaisy's site but she hasn't updated since September. GL needs a site for clips similar to CarLoAdvocate's (for ATWT) because there was some really great stuff from today's show. I loved that one scene where Alan's just totally putting Beth down when she picks up a letter opener and reminds him of what she did to him and Gus back at that cabin. I was kinda scared that she'd stab Alan with it!

And that slap hear 'round Springfield! I think Yvonna Wright has just made herself a contender for one of the best slappers in soapdom. She rared all the way back to China for that one.

Does someone have the Mel slap??? YouTube!!!! Anyone.....

I cheered at that!!! I usually like Rick, but he was getting on my nerves when he was trying to use the fact that Mel had kicked him out of the bed as an excuse.

I usually hate Beth (never saw the appeal of the character,) but I liked when she was talking to Alan with the letter opener. Luckily, when it comes down to Beth and Alan... I'll probably pick Beth.

I thought that both Yvonna Wright and Beth Chamberlain gave fantastic performances yesterday. I think both of them have made themselves very strong contenders for the next SON Top 10.

Maybe it's just me, but the fact that Rick cheated is *very* keeping with his lineag. Grandfather Bill was a drunk who cheated on Bert. Father Ed was a drunk who cheated on Maureen (and Leslie). I hope this is brought up. Especially the fact that Ed cheated on Maureen with Beth's mother Lillian. IMO, Lillian (if we get to see her) is going to give that daughter of hers (and Rick) a stern talking to.

But didn't Rick say that Mel had been giving him the cold shoulder for a couple of years!!? In which case, I really don't blame him for turning to Beth, but he should have gotten a divorce (of course).

I'm really over Jammy, but I don't think the battered wife comparision holds water. Tammy chooses to put up with this situation. Jon has never hurt her physically, so it's on her, if she wants to continue on this way.

I liked Olivia and Dinah too. I think they would make good friends. Right now Olivia/Ava is the story I'm most into.

I could get into Mallet and Marina, but the cast is so small. I have no idea who would be good for Dinah. Maybe Rick. I'm really hoping Mel/Rick are over now. I've never liked them together. Not sure who Mel could hook up with. The pickin's are so slim. Maybe AM or Jefferey.

I agree with Matt. This is very much in line with Rick as a Bauer. He talked about that in SOW with Carolyn Hinsey in the latest issue.

I would love for Lillian to sat him down and remind him about what happened because of her affair with Ed and the results of it, um, hello Maureen died. That should have scared the poop out of Rick.

Also what I don't like about this story is the wording, "You've given me the cold shoulder for years."

GL is pushing to hard with this, because they've aged Leah to an unreasonable age. Rick and Mel have only been married four years, last May I believe. Someone would have to help me with that and they had a good marriage up until last fall when it was revealed Phillip was alive, so it hasn't been years.

Imagine if Rick had just had the affair after Mel turned away from him, which has only been a few months. Then it would be more powerful I think, because he just basically gave up, then we could have seen a divorce and a fight for custody of a little Leah. I hate how GL has progressed them YEARS ++++ when they shouldn't be.

I could not get into the scenes with Rick/Mel because their whole marriage and family is a joke. Leah is supposed to be a toddler and they are trying make people believe that they had a happy family when they were never seen. I will be glad when Rick tosses Mel out of his father's house and divorces the shrew.

I caught this too, which doesn't make since because Mel turned him away completely, when Phillip was revealled to be alive and Beth lost the baby. Another thing that annoyed me, I think at one point Mel proposed divorce, Rick said no and wanted to work on the marriage. Mel agreed eventually... and then last month (or whenever their ITL aired) they backtracked and acted like divorce was never an option for Mel.

I'm just happy that GL is finally picking up! The reason that it has been good is because it has nothing to do with the dull Reva cancer storyline. This makes me want to get up at 10am to watch it.

Nothing dull about the cancer storyline...but yes, the show is picking up at a great pace.
