I never really watched this show, but I thought TR Knight was very cute and I hated the way he was railroaded for basically being the subject of homophobia. He's aged well. I'm glad for fans that they got to see George one last time.

Does it seem to me alone that at some point the characters become more and more inadequate? Annoying is the eternal nepotism, the ridiculous game of friendship and love, the family, the constant forgiveness of what a person in a strong mind can hardly afford. The main character Grace raises the most questions for me. It is not clear why everyone is so worried about her, although in fact she is a sneaky manipulator and destroyer with an innocent sugary look of a lamb in love?

And I don't want to offend anyone

Sorry if I do

I did not know about the crazy Pompeo/Viola Davis interview incident in this thread. Woof.

Yet another bizarre scandal that has been percolating for awhile:

Sources note Disney was keen on investigating Finch and, after her decision to take a leave from Grey’s, suspended any sort of inquiry into claims that such personal details as her bouts with cancer and other medical-related issues may have been fabricated. A formal investigation, other sources say, was never officially launched as Disney is said to have asked Finch to provide a doctor’s note and consent for her physician to speak with the company’s medical director. The writer declined and instead opted to take a personal leave from the series. Disney granted the leave. Finch’s medical records are protected under patient privacy laws included in the HIPPA Act.

[...] Finch had been a writer on Grey’s for years and has penned multiple episodes of the series for former showrunner Rhimes and current showrunner Krista Vernoff. Over the years, Finch has detailed her personal struggles in essays for publications including Elle, Shondaland.com and THR, while also doing multiple rounds of press for episodes that were allegedly based on her own experiences.

[...] Finch’s current Grey’s deal includes a mutual option to return for season 19. Sources say Finch is not expected to return to the series.

Show me a TV series or movie that doesn't have at least a little BTS drama, and I'll show you a TV series or movie that never progressed beyond the page.

That was a genuinely gripping article. I didn't want  it to end, especially on a cliffhanger.

That show has been on so long and I have steadfastly avoided it for so many years now  I keep doing a double take at the various people who have been on it. The legendary Debbie Allen? Greg Germann, the guy on Ally McBeal known for making women orgasm by touching their necks or whatever the [!@#$%^&*] that story was?

Debbie Allen is apparently very heavily involved as a creative, I think, a la ADW. I just have never bought into the cult of Shonda Rhimes (though I enjoyed several seasons of the deeply ludicrous How to Get Away with Murder because of Viola Davis' relentlessly powerful performance), and stuff like this is one big reason why.
