See... this is why Stefano is coming not for ratings and not for publicity. That is [clearly] stated in the interview. They are not rehashing the past and wow, it seems like ALL it is about is re-creating the dynasty.

This all sounds f-in awesome. And the Kate and EJ thing, well, OMFG. Finally!!! Kate has a real mate. FINALLY!!!

Pairing EJ with Kate is a waste. James Scott is the first sexy under 40 male to make his way into Salem in the past decade. He won't be paired with Alison Sweeney who has been saddled who has been spinning straw into a rough facsimile of gold for over a decade? Or Martha Madison who is a good actress stuck in a dull character? Or Julie Pinson who has made Billie into her own, but who has yet to be given a viable love interest? Or even Rachel Melvin who makes Chelsea more likable than she as any right to be, and who will have no male character to interact with now that Hogan has taken her out of Max's orbit?

I am now even more disappointed than I was when I found out that Matt Ashford was being let go. That was a poor decision, but the rationale was understandable. The logic behind this escapes me. Kate and EJ will never make a love story, and if I wanted to see porn, I know which cable stations to watch.

EJ isn't projected to fall in love with Kate. Kate isn't supposed to fall in love with EJ they are just supposed to hook up and if they do a good job, and I have faith in Hogan, James and Lauren, I suspect we will be in for some great TV!

Making EJ into Kate's boy toy destroys him as a romantic male lead IMO. The guys playing Patrick and Tek aren't that bad, but their characters weren't properly developed and now it is too late to take either of them seriously.

I'm glad that James Scott has a HUGE role on Days now (considering that Days is about to beat AMC into the ground, perfect justice) and his character will be a Dimera (my favorite EVIL family next to the Cassadines).

As for Benjy, since he's NATIVE AMERICAN...I hope they find a NATIVE AMERICAN actor to play him and thank god EJ is not Benjy for that reason.

It would be great if they did hire a Native American but IMO Benjy doesn't really have to have any particular look. He wasn't only Native American. Benjy's mother was a blonde Caucasian woman, his father is Stefano Dimera, and his grandfather was part Native American (and not played by a Native American actor...he looked more Irish to me, LOL and his name is said O'Ryan...didn't really go with the last name "Hawk".). They never addressed Orion's heritage. Benjy was a brown eyed blonde kid...and he was deaf. I am more interested in how they will address the deafness...will he have a cochlear impant or will they hire an actor who is deaf/lip reads?

I'm definitely pleased by this news. Stefano short term is always better, for the reasons Drew stated. We all miss our ruthless villains!

I am pleased as well... I am so not into the idea of Stefano redux #4205541 / I mean, I thought Hogan was about to bring on a rebirth for Days, and rehashing Reilly's crutches just doesn't excite me too much.

I do think pairing EJ with Kate is iffy. I respect what Hogan did with Barbara Ryan on ATWT but Kate is different. She's been more overtly 'bad' for a long time, I don't know how much further she can go as a character unless they take her totally over the edge into darkness as a consort for the diMeras. If they go there, that could be interesting, sure. But I'd rather see EJ also two time her with someone else, and I suspect that will happen eventually.
