ANALYSIS: ONLY 2 OF THE 9 DAYTIME DRAMAS HAVE IMPROVED FROM SEPT. 11/04-JUL. 31/05. If that doesn't send a message to THE POWERS THAT BE along with the declining ratings, I don't know what will.

Keep in mind that there is hope. In introduction of Lynn Marie Latham on YR has been great so far, and DAYS can only improve once former ATWT head writer Hogan Sheffer comes on board.

BB needs a new Executive Producer & Head Writer. Bradley Bell must be demoted. I stopped watching BB in July '04, returned in Oct '05 & MIGHT drop BB from my sked. (Nick f**king Bridget!?!? HELL NO!!!!!) Stop with the incest/adultery themes, BB.

GH needs new direction: New head writer & exceutive producer. The show has lots of potential. Cut the focus on the TEENS! Get back to the business, medical & social relevance themes, GH.

ATWT also needs new direction: New head writer & demoting Christopher Goutman would be a go idea. The Nick Kasnoff & Serial Slasher storyline were completely AWFUL! Too much TEENS! The show's contract is up in 2007 & I'm very concerned about its longevity. Get back to the business & adventure themes, ATWT.

DAYS got completely f**ked by NBC, Ken Corday, Stephen Wyman, Beth Millstein & James E. Reilly. The last 6 years of Another World (1194-1999) were much better than the least 6 years of DAYS (2001-2006). The show needs a new executive producer. I have no doubt that Hogan Sheffer & his new writing partners will improve the show greatly. The glory days be just around the corner. Did I mention they have to many TEENS?

AMC is one hot mess! Where the f**k do I begin? Unabortion/Aborted Fetus or whatever the hell you wanna call it is the show's WORST storyline since its inception on Jan. 1/70! The Who Killed Dr. Greg Madden? storyline is repetitive, boring & a waste of some of the actors talent. The good actors are being treated like crap while the bad ones (at least 10 of them) have yet to be fired, including the TEENS. AMC has been the daytime drama I've been watching and loving the longest, since about 1994. Now the show is nearly unwatchable. There's no doubt that Megan McTavish will be fired this year.....HOORAY! Now all they need to do is fire Julie Hanan Carruthers. Get back to the family & social relevance themes, AMC.

The last 7 years of Another World (1993-1999) were much better than the last 7 for OLTL (2000-2006). This show has been nearly unwatchable since about 2002. Too much focus on overated actors & boring characters. Lots of firing need to take place: Dena Higley, Frank Valentini & a few actors. Very displeased that Jessica Buchanan was given a mutiple personality disorder. Her mom, Victoria Buchanan, already has 3 or 4 for crying out loud! Todd's almost execution was over the top bad. Get back to the class & social relevance themes, OLTL.

Guiding Light, the grandparent of the daytime drama serials, has lost a lot of focus this decade. Ellen Weston & Paul Rauch did very bad work, and now Ellen Wheeler & David Kreizman are doing worse than them. Under Weston/Rauch, GL has bad pacing & boring storylines, but Wheeler/Kreizman have completely dropped the ball. The f**king cousins storyline is awful & gross & there's too much Kim Zimmer (Reva Lewis). This show is a lost cause & it's bringing ATWT down with it (Both ATWT & GL are owned by Procter & Gamble). Unless divine intervention occurs, it will be cancelled in 2007.

Passions is beyond repair. Another World would have been renewed if James E. Reilly didn't create this show cuz at the time, in 1999, NBC had 3 serials, and 2 of them were in ratings trouble- AW & Sunset Beach (critically panned). Knowing that they could "congratulate" J.E. Reilly for improving DAYS, the powers that be decided to can AW & replace it with his new show, Passions. Passions has been a joke to the history of daytime drama serials since July 5, 1999. And yet the joke continues. If NBC didn't half-own the show, it would have been cancelled already.

Robert Guza Jr. & Jean Passanante have lost focus.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm inclined to disagree about Jean P. Although I personally wasn't a fan of the slasher storyline, the show took a risk and that's always a good thing. I think it worked out well for them, and they did something that wouldn't permanently alienate their fanbase. Things are picking up a bit now- I'm actually interested in things other than the Luke storyline & that's a good thing. I do think she could use a good co-head though, to keep things in check.

Jean Passanante has clearly lost focus if you ask me. While she is not running ATWT into the ground as she did with AMC, she is still not producing good drama consistently. The Luke storyline is the only thing of interest right now and even that has been inconsistent in the way it has been written.

I'm still enjoying Carly & Jack's breakup, and seeing Emma & Lucinda a bit more lately. I think the Emily/Paul/Meg mess is beginning to get interesting, if only because they're realizing that the money couple there really is Emily & Paul and NOT Peg. I'm also starting to enjoy Meg again, now that it seems she's waking up a bit where Paul is concerned. I, personally, have enjoyed the Luke storyline all the way through and I love what they have going with Gwen, Will, Jade, and Barbara. It's not as good as last year, but I think it's on a bit of an upswing right now.

Yeah, its not terrible by any stretch, I just I dunno compared to last year/early part of this year it is just not up to par. ATWT has to be really good for me to be interested in it LOL.

Even with a few mistakes here and there, ATWT is the only show that I have not been angry with once in the last 2 years. I even loved the Slasher Storyline and think it was the best story on soaps this whole summer. It was a little campy at times, but I loved what Passanante did by giving us Snyder moments or other moments that balanced it out.

The show brought viewers in and raised ratings. At the same Pasanante continued the Jack and Carly breakup story, and the Luke story to give those viewers some other things to see what was going on with the show. She also had the Paul and Meg and Emily story too. These have been the 3 main stories this year, and then we have had little stunt arcs like the Nick Kasnoff thing, Oakdale Confidential, Damian's return, Jennifer's death, and the Slasher story that have been shorter run stories. Also the Will/Gwen/Jade story too has run, and I think from today the slasher story is still going to have fallout for Casey/Maddie and Gwen/Will.

And JP has used the vets more. I guess the only ones that still haven't got a lot of time is Bob. Nancy appears more often, and so do Lucinda and Emma. Tom & Margo were featured more during the Slasher story, and I think will continue for awhile. Lisa was on more for awhile but has settled down now. Hopefully they will bring her back.

I do agree with the statement that JP needs a co-Head, but I think right now she is more consistent than at least 7 of the other writers out there. She and Lynn Marie Latham are pretty even.

Wow totally disagree with you about Days. The fact that you have GH and AMC having equal or better grades disturbs me because GH and AMC are not even close to Days right now. Y&R, Days, and ATWT are the 3 best right now IMO with GL following close behind. The rest I don't know and I don't feel like talking about .
