Members DaysFanJean
That could work. Bonnie would be in heaven and maybe at long last she wouldn't have the need to take what she can't have anymore, but just be her humorous and delightful self (toned down hopefully) to make Victor a very happy old man. Members DaysForever
I'm just glad Sheffer mentioned Victor at all. He's been the king of backburners for like 3 years now. He's a great actor, and I'm ecstatic that they will finally use him. Oh and Keith, my answer is NO!
Members Queen_Nubia
Hmmm....without Patrick and Mimi, I will dont think Bonnie will be in Salem long. I think she will exit after the storyline wraps.
Members Keith
Ah, recjection I now hope Bonnie sticks around. I can handle one Lockhart. There needs to be unconnected characters to allow progress, IMO.
Members PhoenixRising05
I totally agree that there was an overabundance of Brady's so now I see why some of the cuts were made. I am happy to see Brody on that list and not Julie Pinson although if all these names are included in the 10 Matt mentioned then she could be next. I hope not though. I noticed no mention of EJ either so who knows what that means. This all sounds fantastic. I think Mimi may die and Philip will just leave or something given Bonnie rights the to the child. The secrecy surrounding Mimi's exit makes me think she may die. Who knows though-this could go in so many ways. I just hope we get a story for Victor. I can't wait to see a full preview in SOD for the fall. This one was much too short .
Members DaysForever
I know, LOL. I can't wait for the new SOD to come out tomorrow, too. I hope there's going to be Fall Previews in it.
Members KBT
wipes up liquids from the floor....now that thats all done these sound so damn good. I just hope old DAYS fans come back for all of this. DAYS fans have been burnt so many times, I just want to see DAYS get back to being the #2 soap in the ratings. I literally cant wait for all this to unfold. I will most definitely be going 100% UNspoiled.
Members Casey
Sounds good to me, especially with Mimi and Phillip gone. In fact, I love it. I wonder what he will do if anything with Lexie?
Members RogerNewcomb
Hogan made a comment that the men on ATWT did not have balls. A lot of Craig haters felt he ruined the show by giving Craig ALL the balls and shoved him down viewers throats 5 days a week. I'm trying to remember how he gave non-Craig males any balls during his run but can't think of anything. Maybe some other ATWT fans can comment on that. I always loved Hogan's interviews, except when he made nasty remarks about the "old people". My problem with his writing was that stories started off strong then just fizzled with no payoff. I hope he has more power at Days and his vision can come through beginning to end.
Members Roman
I know this for a fact. The "Old People" are what fans of Days want to see. I think many of us have had just about enough of the 20-and-under crowd dominating this show to suit a damn lifetime. The veterans are what I want to see. Other than Sami and Lucas, and the mention of the baby, I am tickled pink that all the rest of the spoilers are about the veterans. Maybe John Aniston will change his mind about being on recurring status if he actually gets a story that suits his character, because I, for one, am just about sick and tired of Victor being in the damn background instead of making things happen, like he did when he first came to Salem. If he, Beth and the rest of the writing team can set it up where the characters have some dept to them, and stop being cartoon heroes and villians, they will bring back fans. 4-6 major characters are about to embark on a huge story trying to find out what happened to Steve all these years ago. That will affect many other characters in that story. And, with someone there finally listening to fans about having Sami and Lucasgrow up, it's starting off strong. And, if it keeps up, there shouldn't be talk of Days being No.2. How about it shooting for the top spot? I think it can happen, so long as we, the fans, don't have our intelligence mocked by what happens. All of the other drama is now over, or almost over. This past week has been wonderful, and with the quads breaking up soon, we have already seen the beginning of the other stories. I didn't watch ATWT, so i can't say what will or won't happen. I also don't know who was EP and what went on BTS. There are so many things that go into the success or failer of a HW and his/her team. Let's just cross our fingers, and hope we get some great stories for the fall season, which kicks off very soon.
Members RogerNewcomb
Does anyone have the full New Yorker article from Hogan from April 2002. That was a great interview. Some of it ticked people off but any Hogan interivew will do that. Here is part of it I found online but can't find the whole thing. Sheffer said that when he first started on the show the men were turned into whining idiots while their women ran amok. “I used to point to the list of male characters and say ‘no dick, no dick, no dick.” He goes on to say that you can no longer write scenes where the men say ‘Why don’t you love me? and ‘What can I do to help you?’
Members DrewH
It's about time we get something from Hogan. This is a proud day for DAYS fans. We have good DAYS ahead kids! I'm intrigued by the Bonnie spoiler. With Mimi and Patrick gone, I didn't think the show would keep Judi Evans. I guess Hogan had a plan for her all along. I like that she is mixing it up with Victor too. The only thing I didn't like about the spoiler was that it said Bonnie "owns" Victor's grandchild. I'm not understanding the word choice there. I have a feeling Bonnie is going to be using baby Kiriakis to get close to Victor. It may sound like a redux of Bonnie and Mickey, but with Hogan, Bonnie will have a more in-depth character, rather than just being a one-note character like Reilly wrote her as. What more can they do to make Chelsea anymore of a bad guy? She's drugged her mother, killed her brother and covered it up, broke up Bo and Hope, etc. Now she is going to be responsible for Hope's near death experience? I hope this is good, but I'm having doubts. I love that Hogan is putting Steve and Kayla with John and Marlena. That's exactly what I'm doing in my fan fiction. I understand that Steve and Bo have history together, but with Steve's storyline and his missing past, who better to be with than the king and queen of amnesia, John and Marlena. Looks like Marlena is going to become the main heroine again. I'm more of a Marlena fan than Kayla so I'm happy about this. I don't know how I feel about Lucas and Sami. I used to love LUMI, but with the recent break, I'm liking them apart. I hope this new comedic team isn't going to be a romantic thing. I see Sami being Hogan's Katie. He is going to mature the character and take her into a new route, comedy. Ali does great with comical lines. Remeber SOLE? I'm also getting the feeling that Lucas is going to become the Henry. He is going to realize he really loves Sami, but she's moved on (maybe with EJ?).
Members Bree
I hope Hogan delivers, because I have been waiting for 10 long years to see Sami grow up. Who wants to see an almost thirty-something woman whine about her parents not being together? Her maturation is long overdue. The Bonnie/Victor angle sounds very interesting. I can totally see Bonnie using her grandchild as access to the Kiriakis fortune, and forming an unholy alliance with Victor. Bonnie is like an older Nicole, but without the porno past. The Patck/Kayla/John/Marlena story sounds intriguing, and it will be a welcome change from all the Sweet Valley antics we've been seeing all summer. Let's hope for new and improved "DAYS" from now on! *Crosses fingers*...
Members Ponz
I disagree. It sounds like Hogan sees Lumi as a major long-term couple. Some stuff on Nick/Nora Charles. http://www.filmsite.org/thin.html a sophisticated, glamorous, pleasure-seeking, and urbane husband-wife detective team... -- mystery story takes a back seat to the romantic screwball comedy, featuring the splendid, snappy banter between the rich, carefree married couple. They are known for sleuthing, solving murders, wisecracking one-liners, affectionate witticisms, delightful teasing and one-upmanship, alcoholic fun with plenty of martinis, a wire-haired terrier named Asta (actually named Skippy), and a loving relationship - often punctuated with quick kisses and slight hiccups. The husband and wife team (billed as "the happiest married couple in radio") was also broadcast on radio for many years
Members Roman
Wouldn't that be something. Victor having an affair with the actress who USED to play his niece, by marriage.
