Example: The show had tons of potential in Challie & they totally bungled it! With 1. the writing & 2. the use of the characters & 3. isolating them so they had no support. 4. Using them more for titllation & male fantasy than actually treating them like the couple they held them out to be. Example: Murder of Abby & Murder mystery. Worst ever! I like it that Maura can take it to the edge if need be, sure, but more than that I like that most of the time she prefers nuanced to "out there" Well, who would you cast? I really think the show needs to have Sami.

Gosh, never saw anyone have actual dislike for her. I've only been advocating that she be a recast Sami on DAYS for 2 years now. And, yes, part of it is that it's a crying shame she's not working anywhere.

Carly Tenney-Snyder was also a force to be reckoned with & CarJack & "True North" really do rival Jeva & "Always" but Ava Jerome is, like, the part Maura was born to play. I have noticed that Ava is strong enough that I do not see the edges of Maura in the performance, when with Oakdale's Carly, I always could see Maura underneath pulling the strings. I don't know if that will sense to you. The thing is they have no business putting Ava in situations where she is seen as weak. So, when you have a show like DAYS, with so much in the can, how does a "no compete" clause work for an actor? Surely it's not based on how long he is seen on the other show's screen, right? I ask for the obvious reason. I love Maura, Ava, Gina, ... what's wrong with you people?! And that last cut list, oy vey, y'all we do want the show to have familiarity. It's proven that soap fans do not appreciate too much of the wrong kind of change!

People can be critical of Ron & still have fierce hatred for Higley, Pratt, McT, Mal & JG. Personally I've not seen anything like that kind of derision for Tomlin, Whitesell & D&C. They would likely be IN Ron territory, where the others are much much worse.
