A story arc within a daytime soap that reboots that movie? What were they thinking? And, from the get-go why target the youth market & ask the affiliates to show it at noon?

I think that this is true about the way things were with AW but I also wonder if that could have been changed. Yep. I'm sure that is why NBC blocked P&G's plan to have them HW the show in spring 1993. The Dobsons thought it was because NBC wanted the timeslot for another show & that is also true. They did. Here I disagree. Eden's rape, hard though it was to watch was classic, iconic wonderful storytelling & exactly what lesson about rape needed to be put into the soap group mind.

One time I was trying to catch AI chat in soap errors. I posed this question: Susan Lucci's daughter plays what character on what soap? It replied: Liza Colby is played by Jamie Luner. See, it got that it was a Liza, just the wrong Liza! I gave it the correction with context & thanked it.

I still would love to know which fool at P&G or CBS approved that opening. The music is okay (although, a little sleepy), but those visuals are just too muddy-looking. I see the visual & think, WHAT is that? But, I hear the first strains & I am transported!

Personally I put weight behind Lesley & Laura, Stenbeck, Margo, Ross & Spauldings in general & other Marlers with Ross, so I'm not going to rise to defend your quibble of those two not-so-greats. If you only pulled out two, knowing you as I lovingly do, I am satisfied. Yes, I posted it. Love that clip! It's even better since lore had it that she & Jill had a physical altercation trying to wrest the statue from the other. Clearly you can see as much civility as an awards show can provide. If you watch it more than once you can see her trying to get free of the hugs to get to the podium!

Back to Roman: Jerk or Not. Not sure when I posted here last but I have kept up. This begins a few days back. 12-3-91 Day 15 Not a jerk. Roman & John on hands & knees crawl into the Mayan pyramid. Outside Izzy & Marlena are awkward. Bo is mostly running from somewhere to here. Roman & John have to work together, which they do. Just as they finally get somewhere Lawrence & Gretchen catch up with them & hold them at gunpoint. Suddenly Stefano appears only we only hear him & see his shoes. It is not Joe Moscolo. Victor is chained to the wall. Carly finds him & frees him. 12-4-91 Day 16 Not a jerk. (12-31-23) No idea who is playing Stefano but their accent is horrible! John finally acknowledges that he is not Roman. Roman looks forward to putting his family back together, beginning with Marlena as his wife. She has a funny expression on her face as he expresses this. 12-5-91 Day 17 Not a jerk. (1-4-24) Marlena expresses to John that she loves him & he says she doesn't & that he is not the man she fell in love with. He asks her if she can say that she does not love the other guy. She can't say that. He knew she couldn't. She tells Roman that she loves him. And that it feels very very good for him to hold her this way. But that she needs some time. Does he understand? He says he does. He says he is not going to push her. He's waited 7 years so he guesses he can wait longer. 12-6-91 Day 18 (1-6-24) No Roman, no Marlena, no John, no Izzy. Scofields the anniversary of their mother's death (raped; committed suicide). Bo & Carly preparing for their Mayan wedding tomorrow. They continue to abstain.

And, then you would have been taken off of that account.

AW is my #1 soap. Just is. Always will be. I came to GL late but it became like AW to me, so it's my #2. And, Santa Barbara has always been my #3 & very special.

Such an interesting thought. She certainly deserved better ones than she had! Who can tell me what the dates were that they were locked out? I want to recommend some episodes to someone whose never watched any of the show & I know I don't want to have it be during that time period. Of course, alternately, what episodes would you recommend?
