  1. IDC what the reason for it, was. IT WAS ABSURD. They've gone too far when they block a scene that way. And, whoever it was directing, which I think it was Gary Tomlin, who dam* well should know better, should've changed it, even at the last minute. How could they miss how appalling it would look??!!
  2. I wanna get me some of this engament!!!
  3. What do you mean here? Were some people speculating on some kind of nonsense going on behind the scenes relating to Jason's Return?! I imagine his lovely classy IG farewell was tagged to drop yesterday & no one realized that the pre-emption had pushed things off a day. Fortunately, it really didn't spoil anything. For a week at least people have seen the signs of an imminent exit, and that is how it should be, when story lets you know what to expect to happen! Am I correct that it was the solar eclipse that threw it off? Just curious.
  4. Also elsewhere I have posted about his not taking part in the photo shoot & that he was taken off contract on April 8th. (Both personal notes & a post in my FB forum.)
  5. When Nathan Varni returned he announced that the priority was lapsed viewers. I think you can make a case that returns like Jason and now escalating, Lucky, are things that you could do to try to address just that. Of course, you can't just get them back. The writing has to make things happen. And no one character is going to have some remarkable impact on ratings but there's no reason to be dismissive of temporary bumps. We had one with Jason. We can have one with Lucky.
  6. I, too, could see Levin Rambin in the role. Is she old enough?
  7. They are often ABC's best show but more often second to The View. They regularly beat Today3, TodayHoda, GMA3, NBC News Daily & The Talk. On occasion they also beat The View. People watching on the app, on abc.com & on YouTubeTV are not counted. Often, on Hulu they are #4. AFAWK ABC/Disney does not have any show they could put on in their place. I look at these factors every week & I do not see imminent danger. Obviously we all could & do wish that they would do better. But, why do you think they can't succeed limping along this way?
  8. Me, I look for any opportunity to tease!!! 😲🤔😉
  9. Vee is correct. I did say that I had been told that about Frank & these strong preferences he is said to have. (JJ for Lucky & JMB for Lulu) The other strong preference Frank supposedly has is to do with VM & that would be a story leading to ushering Sonny out. The thing is, I do not know if that means ushering Sonny out of the mob or out of the show. Is it a drastic change about the mob in PC or is it a simple retirement. At any rate, without a doubt if we hear that Vanessa has been hired we will know something is up! I agree but there might be a short-term bump.
  10. If it is true - and I think it is - that it was Korte who wanted Patrick, I am grateful for that, and give a tip of the hat to her. Also, if it is true - and again I think it is - that they had to beg him to come, I am grateful for that as well, because god only knows, he deserved it. I continue to hate that it didn't work out because I think so much of what is good now is from him, but as a fan, I shoulder on. Right now I feel a building momentum. I hope that's not just because I am hyper-aware that sweeps begins tomorrow. And, I am one who thinks tomorrow will be the last we'll see of Michael Easton.
  11. SoapOperaNewsNet, whoever that is, also says Thurs., last day.
  12. Well, it could be but also they could have just liked the rapport between Mo & ELR. I know in terms of SOM that Mo has said he did well with Steve but he did not do so well with the next two SOMs so some of us have been wondering if Sonny's storyline is getting to Mo a bit.
  13. Of course I completely agree that writing for characters should show growth, experience, even changes, as that is the way life happens. With B&B Stephanie Forrrester did not act like some sweet young thing. At GL, when Josh was tied to Reva, he had to do & act & be like Reva did. I think that some of those adult leads acted less adult than others did. Probably Erica & Reva are examples. But, at AW Rachel did not remain always the same.
  14. Wow! A non-hating Joss comment. I must say I approve. Awhile back I said to a friend at the studio, in regard to a possible Lulu recast, knowing how much Frank likes JMB & how much he hated Emmy Rylan (sp?) I said Bree Williamson & they said already done a role on GH & they're trying not to do duplications anymore. And, next I said ... not a blonde but Marci Miller & they were very interested & we chatted about her for a long time. I've thought Adam Huss should be on contract for months & months.
  15. The very essence of traditional soap opera is what? Multi-generational, that's what. And, what does that exactly mean? Well, it means characters of all ages. Grandparents, parents, teens & young adults & kids. Of course, quite naturally, you ARE going to have older characters who are leads. But, you may also have some the next age group down who are also leads. Let's look at the example of a classic, ATWT. Lucinda, lead female, age group: oldest. Lily her daughter, lead female, age group: Adults. Her son Luke, young adult male lead, age group: teens & young adults. So, you see? What's the problem? And, as to that old saw that people only watch to see people their own age, I call bullsh*t on that. In my experience - and I've been watching soaps & talking to other soap fans since the 70s/80s - people watch to see interesting people. They are not chained somehow to only watching one certain narrow age group.
  16. Errol, I salute you. This could have read a whole 'nother way. You were the epitome of gracious wording in the face of the potentially ridiculous as you expounded on the "Many Characters Played By One of Frank's Llanview Pets"!!!! But, I will say this, seriously for a moment, ME made a gracious farewell.
  17. Totally agree. It was a kind of whiplash moment. They really should have done that Intervention. Did you notice all the new pictures in the opening? For the first time Tracy & Kristina were included. Others with new updated photos include: Sonny, Michael, Curtis, Anna, Sasha, Cody, Diane, T.J., Carly, Dex & Chase.
  18. We are supposed to be on the side that gets Finn into rehab & Vile-Ette into safe quarters. No one is doing what they are doing because he is grieving. They are doing it because he is quite obviously an alcoholic who is in the grips of a downward spiral. He's doing what in AA speak is called "stinkin' thinking". You notice how loud, angry & mean he is? How he is saying awful things to just about everyone. Plus, he quit his job.
  19. Well, I think a case can be made that at this particular moment in time what Sonny cares about is pleasing Kristina.
  20. I can't go for the other but I could agree with this sentiment. I guess that is like saying that I don't have 2 cents but will this penny do? Although I was one who predicted Lucky but Greg Vaughn & I am delighted at being half-wrong.
  21. The night before Sonny made an Italian feast for Natalia, Ali & Kristina. They were eating & being convivial when Ava came in. She totally failed to read the room & greeted them & said some small talk & then stated that she was a "bit peckish" & would get a chair & join them. Kristina said, "No." Then she stood & said that there was no way she would share a meal with the woman who stabbed her mother in the back. Sonny asked to be filled in. Ava said she'd give him the non-bias version later & left. Kristina explained about Ava signing the affidavit that was the basis of the charge of perjury that caused her to be disbarred. Krissy apologized for ruining their meal. Sonny said nothing to apologize for. Natalia lauded her for taking up for her mother. Sonny did not like the fact that Ava was a snitch, basically.
