A friend has just put me on to a new resource, the Archive of the magazine BROADCASTING & CABLE. Each issue has Nielsen ratings so in that way it could supplement this information. Of course, most of each issue is articles. It begins with 1931 and goes through 2023. I'm using PDF-XChange to search for keywords, searching many issues at one time. I believe he is a Cerullo. I know he is a blood relation to both Lois & Brook Lynn. When he calls Sonny "uncle" I'm not sure that is actually blood tied. But, I know other Cerullos consider Sonny to be family as well. Kristina has just now, this week, brought up maternity leave. The baby is due in August.

These ads regularly interrupt my typing of a post. Often they cause me to have to rewrite a sentence or two. I frankly do not understand why SON wants to allow such intrusive ads. Is this them working as they are meant to? If so, I want to on record as hating them. Thanks for your time & attention.

I loved him in both of those, too. Also in every Christopher Guest movie that he was part of. As a soap fan his part in that crazy cadre that did MARY HARTMAN, MARY HARTMAN & of course its sequel.

Well, I totally & completely misremembered this. I thought Louise went with Iris to TEXAS from the first day. Now, obviously I realize that we saw Iris, solo, on the plane, arriving, being ushered to that yacht, etc. In my mind Vivien was surely "around somewhere."

Frankly, I really thoroughly enjoyed young Emma. If you ask me she showed talent. Why isn't this obvious to Frank?!!! Echoes of DAYS OF OUR LIVES ... Why are our modern soaps afflicted with this influx of characters who are not needed & just taking up the space where a needed character should be?!!!

With the surrogacy, Blaze's career, Natalia, Kraze itself *and* the LGBTQ+ Ctr. I think something had to give! Throw in the problem between Kristina & Sonny and Alexis's overturning her disbarment, whew. Enough already!!! These people are just too busy!

DAYS did David Banning falling in love with Valerie Grant & being involved with the entire Grant family. AAMOF at Doug & Julie's first wedding, Oct. 1976, Doug was worried that David wouldn't get there in time & he was supposed to walk Julie down the aisle. Alice Horton said she knew he would be on time because she had a secret weapon & that was Valerie & she knew very well how she felt about all things family. Then we saw David & Valerie talking, and kissing, and then he left for the church.

I was talking to my friend, David, who lives in NYC. We were talking about PRIDE and we were talking about soap actors who are gay. He related that he'd recently seen Matt Bomer at the gym, going into the shower & what a cute butt he has. I do not have a picture to go along with it but I thought, all in all, you might get a kick out of the sighting!

This is something I dispute. It is unfortunate that you think I am trying to guilt trip you. There are sound reasons not to be stuck in an ism.

You're talking about 2 things that do not go together, as if they did. Streaming is one thing. The Nielsen ratings is broadcast ONLY. Like for GH, the Nielsens count broadcast only. Those watching abc.com, or on the app, or YouTubeTV, none of them are counted. And, then, you have Hulu, which also is not counted in the Nielsen ratings. Fortunately, often GH is their #4. I also dispute your claim that it is younger viewers who show up in engagement in social media. I find all ages involved with different platforms. Recently some fans have collated the statistics on Jarly fans versus JaSam fans versus Liaison fans. Most of the time Jarly fans are winning. Some times JaSam fans pull ahead. Liaison fans never seem to. There is no current activity for Jex & nothing has even started yet with Trio. Even then, in those fandoms you simply do not have one age of fan. Rather you have all ages.

I noted that recently the show gained back 31,000 viewers & that happened to be a period when we'd had no Carly for 2 weeks followed then by 4 days of Carly with one of those days being a Jarly day. I cannot point to anything else that could account for us getting back those viewers. I suppose that it was both things, no Carly for a bit, then her return.

There is no if about whether you are expressing ageism. It is there for all to see, repeatedly, I might add. Now, about Spring, I was a huge Sprina fan, you see I am quite capable of loving people from ALL ages. And that is the hill I sill stand & die on, multigenerational soaps. Whether your analysis is correct or not you are putting forth one example on one show at one time period. This does not prove anything except that anecdotal evidence may be interesting.

The thing that concerns me in this topic is the blatant ageism. I think ageism is as bad, possibly worse than some, as any other bias-based philosophy or argument. And, I do not think that a case can be made for more success or ratings in general with discriminating based on age as a basis.

You calling me petty names will not get you very far. If somehow you are now going to assert that you are spoiler-averse, ... whatever. No, not ignoring her past but dealing with her present. Also dealing with facts. Carly didn't just on a whim, what the heck, why not, do what she did. She went to that meeting because someone needed to. Jason was supposed to. But, he'd run off helping Britt & got himself injured & he was also not there, so he couldn't attend. Her family & all of Jason's kids were in real danger at the time, so she did what she does & stepped up & tried to do something she did not know if she could do it. If Jason had been where he was supposed to be, she would not be in this predicament & that is why he is motivated to try to take care of this soapy mess. What was possibly miraculous is that she was good at it. And, it's not on the recording but she kidnapped Cyrus's mother & blew up a ship containing that dangerous drug Cyrus was pushing.

I simply do not understand that people do not see that this is a very different Jason that has been & is being presented. He is not now a mob enforcer. I don't know anyone watching this show who can see him going back to the mob once this period is past.

Carly loves Michael Corinthos because he is her son. Carly loves Wiley Corinthos & Amelia Corinthos because they are her grandchildren. Carly loves Donna Corinthos because she is her daughter. Carly loves Willow Corinthos because she is her daughter-in-law. Carly loves Avery Corinthos because she grew to love Ava's little girl when she was married to Sonny, in the past. Carly does not love anything else Corinthos! Why do you fault her for loving these people?

Also, no show would cast her. Shows do not poach each other's actors. You're making a huge incorrect assumption. They took him off contract. If they were just not using him for 3 months & planning to have him return after, they wouldn't have taken him off contract.

I happen to agree that Tracy is the new heart of the show. Used to be Laura. But, about BLQ, she has a fabulous relationship with both her mother & her grandmother!

I don't know about that because it is very widely known there what exceptionally close friends Eden & Taby are. I'm not aware of anyone thinking racism is coming from Eden.
