Brian appeared on CW's DYNASTY as himself a few episodes ago. Is this BSB's secret comeback plan - to appear on soaps?

I've been re-watching the Maljardin arc because... well, no reason but I have nothing better to do. Honestly, the first 44 episodes with Ian Martin helming them kind of sucks. I know a lot of things were dropped (such as the flashbacks / alternative timeline which would've expanded Elizabeth's role on the show), but it's very repetitious and in itself very inconsistent in parts. I don't think Martin was a very good planner, especially for a soap opera. The show really does get a kick up its butt with episode 45, even if it was never going to become Shakespeare. There are interesting bits that some fan blogs have compiled ( https://maljardinblog.wordpress.com/ ) - such as original outlines that got printed in magazines (which shows you how quick the turn-over was back then), like Erica was originally going to be revealed not to have died from eclampsia, but from plastic surgery after a car accident and trying to gain eternal youth. In Martin's original outline it seems likely that Erica would've never come back to life (which makes sense since they pretty much had women throwing themselves at the balding Colin Fox).

My guess is that we're going to see a lot more possessive EJ when he finds out about the affair and the fall-out of that. I also think that might be why they haven't worked on his and Sweeney's chemistry - EJ is going to go old-fashioned DiMera psycho.

It's a shame they hurried with SORAS-ing Belle. I really feel she should've been able to grow up on screen with only minor adjustments to age a la Will, but I guess they wouldn't have been able to push Shawn and Belle as that generations "supercouple" (which turned out to be white bread anyway)...

To be fair, wasn't How to Survive a Marriage kind of doomed from the beginning with the impending expansions of both Another World and Days of Our Lives? Seems more like they let it air with little support to prepare for those shows going to the hour.

Not in all instances. I thought Alexis firing the gun on Dynasty, causing Krystle to miscarry was a great moment that really showed Alexis' true colours and of course led to Krystle eventually beating the crap out of Alexis.

On an interesting note - a lot of cast members seem to be posting about this move (just saw Deidre posting it), so it does seem like they're pushing it a bit that they're moving so obviously they know how important it is for this move to go well.

The app might continue to exist in some minimal sense, but it's obvious they aren't interested in it and won't be going out of their way to provide material for it. They want people to migrate to Peacock, that much is clear. Ratings matter in the sense that they'll keep DAYS on air as long as they don't think they can replace it with something cheaper that can achieve somewhat similar ratings. But at the same time we all know where it's heading - linear has been dying for years now and clearly there's an increased focus on multiplatform performances. But of course they still have affiliates to keep happy otherwise they might just move it to other platforms.

I have a slight hope that they might actually refresh the set considering they did have a random DiMera mansion make-over. However, the most obvious problem with the set is that they obviously have a limited space and that's really what needs to be adressed with the set.

He went around talking to people basically, among one of those who was in jail (who Fallon paid off not to say anything). I think we're supposed to believe that word travels fast, which might be true. At least this weeks Fallon / Liam story seemed to change the status quo for a bit and had Liam leave (?) temporarily. Since they've made a few Knots references during the run, could the funeral be a fake out a la Gary's on Knots and it's Liam's funeral to try and lure out the people who killed his father?

Nah, Adam's been out of Fallon's orbit for a while now and a male Carrington heir can stand on his own storylinewise. Now that they're going all-in as him as the resident doctor/chief of staff it should also provide him with storylines.

That's likely the case here - with Peacock and NBC being so closely affiliated anyway there's no real use for it.

I feel like the reveal that Amanda exists in this universe might be bad news for Kirby if they feel like they need to clear space to have another young female on the cast...

It just seems like she'll pop in for another one-episode plot for Liam / Fallon, sigh...

SUZANNE ROGERS RETURNS TO "DAYS"... Several "Days" actors have mentioned recently that Suzanne Rogers has returned to work at "Days", so look for Maggie's return later in the year! This is only the second time since Rogers joined "Days" in August 1973 that she has been off-screen for more than 3 months in a row (November 1984-July 1985 and February 2021-Present).

Unfortunately, they film too far ahead at this point to bring Laura back (I think they're finishing up the season in mid-July), but yeah. They managed to get Kelly Rutherford back a few times, so I hope they'll do the same with Laura. It's a shame they're not at least making her recurring because I think she'd appeal to a lot of Gen-Y/Millenials who remember her as Sydney in Melrose.

To be fair, from Chanel's introduction it does seem like they've always had a kind of inapproriate parent/child situation where Paulina would probably more often than not act as her friend instead of her mother (hence why Paulina putting her foot down re: money came as a shock). But maybe that's just me giving Ron too much credit because I doubt he's really thought about their background story that much.

I don't think Cristal is going to die - it's too obvious. I guess in the OG Krystle did some pretty crazy [!@#$%^&*] due to her tumour (plate-throwing!) and even threatened Alexis that she could kill her and get away with it, so maybe Cristal will end up literally murdering somebody. They usually have good sets on nu-Dynasty but the mine set did look awful. I guess fake rocks are harder to make look real and they couldn't stage a cave-in in a real location.

lol, to be fair he says specifically that he's not a reclusive and obviously never was - he just left the business in his teens. It's funny that people think that moving away from showbusiness means that you've obviously had a meltdown and spending rest of your life shunning strangers.
