  1. I suddenly had this horrid vision of them turning Ben into a priest and saving the day.
  2. Coverage by Entertainment Weekly: https://ew.com/tv/days-of-our-lives-binging-back-possession-storyline/?utm_campaign=entertainmentweekly_entertainmentweekly&utm_content=new&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=613f77e08673f2000160b536 Twitter thread:
  3. There definitively seems to be possession going on as it's a long-term storyline.
  4. I assume Johnny's movie will kick start it, which makes sense. They'll have two of DAYS's most iconic couples involved (Julie / Doug, Marlena / John) to satisfy that part of the audience and then have the youth crew (Johnny, Allie, Chanel, Tripp etc) actively involved I assume to appeal to that demographic.
  5. Yeah, there was a few people on another site I frequent who said they'd check out Beyond Salem which surprised me because they're not exactly the soap watching demographic and I didn't even bring it up! So Beyond Salem went (sorry for the pun) beyond DAYS's regular audience and even regular soap viewers.
  6. You know what - I'll have to give it to them because this is well-planned promotionalwise; first they have the promo glitz for Beyond Salem which have gotten them exposure at places where they normally don't and now they seem to continue to momentum with Possession 2.0. I'm a bit weary of it, but I can't deny that this is really well done and planned by them (promotionalwise).
  7. I agree and for better or worse, it's the one storyline that people actually know of in this meme-laden day and age. Plus considering that DAYS seems to get renewals based more on Peacock performances rather than linear ratings, it might make that young audience watch an episode to see the "hot mess" that it'll inevitably be.
  8. I doubt they'd debut a trailer for a Halloween episode mid-September...
  9. To be fair, Possession 2.0 seems to have been set up after they got the two-year renewal and with the Beyond Salem money they might be able to not make it look as tragic as we all expect (plus maybe some long-term plotting and not these weird two week plots they've done lately)?
  10. Doug's behavior is supposedly related to Possession 2.0.
  11. Oh doG, here we go again...
  12. She left at the start of season 9 in 1988. With that said, she still did a lot of prime time appearances at that time (with her role as Pacey's teacher on Dawson's Creek in 1998), so who knows if she was ready to go back to daytime at the time so they'd probably have to recast if they wanted Anna to appear? So it's a bit of a double-edged sword.
  13. The John and Marlena at the conference table scene will be filmed at the park bench. I'll also assume that they'll at least throw in some references how the timeline doesn't make sense lol.
  14. LOL-ing at him casting Allie as Sami - what acting experience does she have? Also, is he planning on shooting this in Salem? What crew and funding does he have? This is all sorts of mess, but could be fun once you get over how unrealistic it is.
  15. I've said it before, but I do hope that some of the money spent on Beyond Salem will benefit DAYS in some way - at least the refreshed sets should come to some use on the main show. But if it does we won't be seeing that until January 2022, because DAYS.
  16. I don't think they wanted to tie in this too closely with what's currently happening on DAYS since they don't know how much of the audience will bother watching Beyond Salem. Plus, I think the way to go forward with BS is not necessarily to follow this group of characters into another season - I quite like the idea of exploring various off screen characters' lives in future installments.
  17. Exactly. I don't think there's a huge mystery to it - we all saw how lazy he got towards the end of his run. I don't doubt that they asked Freddie first since they even brought back Eileen for this, so it makes no sense that they'd randomly recast Sonny if they didn't have to.
  18. I think it's just budget to be honest and probably that they just don't feel like there's a lot of story to tell about them in the main show at the moment. Cynically, they might feel the LGBT bracket is filled by Allie and Chanel.
  19. If AP is/was insufferable then that's reason enough why it blew up. People are willing to cover for people who they think are nice enough co-workers, but if the douche at the office does something bad? Of course people are going to take advantage and try to oust him for it or at least knock him down a peg or five.
  20. It'd be kind of a smart way to recast a character that's been seen as unrecastable to be honest...
  21. Honestly, they're kind of starting to write Liam as Jeff in the original, which... isn't good unless they want us to root for them to split up.
  22. I genuinely wouldn't mind them breaking up Liam and Fallon and have Amanda move in on Liam as I'm sure that'd create more conflict.
  23. Maybe she meant it in the way Ryan's Hope seemed to be about a small community in Manhattan, New York rather than something flashy? Then again, wasn't an extravagant Trump-like family supposed to be featured?
