  1. No, that's Keith from One Tree Hill (Craig Scheffer). I noted the fact that he looked like a Steven replacement at the time when I watched it.
  2. Oh wow, that's a rarity, but having watched the European cut version they make it look way more interesting than it was.
  3. I think in theory it sounds like a great idea - why wouldn't fans of a soap opera watch a 90 minute show? Add in that overall it's less expensive to do 90 minutes of one show than to do two / three shows. It's a bit like the thinking about the never-ending expansion of TODAY, except you know, soap operas doesn't function like that.
  4. To be fair, when Alexis enters in season 2, she's not the Queen of the Universe that they would later write her as. She's a sociopathic monster who makes Krystle have a miscarriage and almost kills her out of spite and doesn't feel the slightest bit bad about it. She's dressed rather modestly instead of the later glitz-and-glamour that she would adopt once Cecil died. She was essentially a snake in the grass in season 2.
  5. I mean, considering the main complaint with Ann Marcus was that she burned through story quickly, maybe expanding it to 90 mins would've worked under her?
  6. Maybe they'll come up with a contrived way to keep Abe as the father (something something Rolf)
  7. I'm calling it - Paulina's Lani's mother.
  8. Honestly, out of all the shows I'm pretty surprised that CBS would choose to shuffle Love of Life to 4.30PM - if anything everything about it screams "your grandmothers soap" and old-fashioned even back then, so I'm not sure what they were playing at. I know they tried to introduce a college set, but it's very much a show that I feel wouldn't do well with the supposedly younger demographic watching in the late afternoon.
  9. Yikes, I guess Another World's 90 minute experiment thankfully put the idea of DAYS going to 90 mins to rest. The show was already going through creative issues at the time, so I can't imagine how disasterous a 90 minute show would've been. I guess The Doctors absolutely crashing in 1980 put any plans on expanding it to rest.
  10. I think that has to do with saving money - last season I think only Fallon, Blake and Sam appeared in every episode. While I actually enjoy the approach of not forcing themselves to write for each character to make an appearance in each episode (and in all honesty, mostly don't notice it), I thought both Liam and Alexis's absence this episode seemed pretty blatant. Since they're not writing Alexis as a sociopathic monster in this version anyway, I would've liked to see her feel guilty about Kirby's situation. I also thought it was silly how they had to make the "coke" into flour at the end - it took away from the gravity of the situation Sam / Culhane has gotten themselves into and wasn't even funny enough to make it worth it (we didn't even see Sam in the dumpster).
  11. Austin Peck looks like he's overdone the botox a bit tbh.
  12. Just saw that B&B will start uploading from season 1 starting September 1st - they also have seasons 19-31 (2005-2018) uploaded on YouTube and it's available for all to view. Now, imagine if DAYS could open their vaults?
  13. The way they've shot the pictures of the cast on set worries me that all Peacock money went to trying to get people get and nothing went into improving the sets for this.
  14. lol at "DAYS performer". She wasn't the worst, but she wasn't terribly exciting either. I wonder if she could give more spark if she used her Aussie accent.
  15. I think JER working out all his issues with catholicism was a great building block for NBC as an identity.
  16. lol, I had no idea Dobson wore a toupe, but it's pretty obvious when you look at pictures from Kojak and Knots pictures. I also think Thomas Calabro started wearing a hair piece on Melrose Place during the later seasons. He definitively did on the reboot. Larry Hagman's hairpieces on Dallas of course deserve their own Hall of Shame.
  17. Well, Maljardin literally means garden of evil / evil garden, but I do prefer Strange Paradise as a title tbh.
  18. I've actually never seen Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story, but I do enjoy the description of it that IMDB provides: I really hope this is the description of Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story that ABC put out in their press releases.
  19. The comment section to the TvLine article is a mess - honestly, I can separate actors and the characters, so I don't mind Missy returning; she is Jennifer Horton for better or worse even if I wouldn't mind Cady stepping into the role permanently too. With that said, the one good comment in the TvLine article was someone suggesting DAYS implementing a social media policy - not looking at any people specifically (cough cough, Missy and Camilla, cough cough).
  20. 100% this. Marlena really just seemed to have nothing to do on DAYS before The Affair and JER moving her into the main heroine slot. I have no doubt she would've bolted if it wasn't for the promise of her own soap where she could be the exec producer, especially with having the Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story in the pipeline at the time.
  21. This is pretty much why I've said that they should've made Jordan the real killer after the time jump (something-something Jordan's psycho something-something Rolf yadda-yadda) if they were so hell-bent on keeping Ben as a romantic lead and I usually hate dodgy ret-cons. But there's really no way around it. I'm sure RSW is a nice guy, but maybe it's time for him to explore other career options.
  22. Honestly, I think the reason Manhattan Lives continued to linger was because it was a good negotiation tactic to have it on the backburner. If the producers of Another World knew that NBC had something to replace it with, they might've been more willing to cut costs to keep it on the air. I doubt the Manhattan Lives show would've worked, but I do wonder what would've happened if Bradley and Bill Bell Jr had jumped ship to create their own soap for NBC. Then again, it would've been an hour and B&B really seemed to succeed by being the half hour show of the bunch.
  23. I get the impression that she might've thought that the Hallmark movies were put on the shelf for the foreseeable future and made a loose commitment to doing "a year" on DAYS and they went ahead and early on announced her doing the show for a year. Of course, Hallmark ended up changing those plans and since Ali didn't actually sign a contract with them (probably due to having a contract with Hallmark), they ended up working around her schedule. Ah well, at least she'll be back and not left in limbo like Sarah.
