  1. irna was long gone by this stage. I believe Cenedella was writing at this point. The plots that appeared when Nixon's stories (which he inherited)began to run dry showed that Cenedella didn't have the same skills as his predecessor.
  2. Thanks for that. I imagined she would have a 3 per week contract but probably worked more quite often. During the Hursley years it seemed Jo went backburner and kept to 3 a week but was more of a talk to. Mary wasn't happy about that but I could see the reasoning behind it-the show couldn't keep one character front and center forever.
  3. Have always wondered about Mary and early Search. I don't recall her mentioning any particulars in her book, but surely her contract would have stipulated a limit on appearances. I imagine in the first few months she was on everyday, but once the show was somewhat established,Mary could have had some days off. Remember there were only a few scenes per 15 min episode,so Marge and Stu talking about something and Patti sharing scenes with her grandmother could fill a show without Jo onscreen.
  4. So on Tues we suddenly have a detective to talk to Adam, an Italian concierge and an investigator to talk to Billy. And two new sets. After months of poverty. Hopefully the trend continues
  5. Polly Rowles TV Guide has the character mentioned in 1965,so a part of the daytime version.
  6. I stand corrected. There is another room to the villa.Very 'Italian' but quite an elaborate set. I think they will be getting a lot of use out of it.
  7. He has been referring to treatment but like Sharon before him is holding up remarkably. No mention of how he can be jetting off to Italy whilst undergoing said treatments.
  8. Just caught my first glimpse of Tuscan villa YIKES! Like Ashland's NY apartment it is a bedroom. Why? It's not like they had a million love/sex scenes in that set and I can't imagine that will happen here. Odd choice... They're going to have to have other Italian sets.
  9. Been a while since I made a request, so here goes Jean Bruce Scott Yale Summers Brian Heidek Fay Hauser
  10. Michael Kearney He was playing Petey in 1965
  11. Before she was Helen Grant (Eli's grandmother) on Days Ketty Lester hit no 2 with'Love Letters' in 1962
  12. from French Fan Dec 86 Steve said goodbye to Betsy and Dani and returned to Greece after Tonio, James and Lucinda succeeded in taking over Steve's business Betsy agreed to stay in Oakdale until Steve is established in Greece.
  13. Pre Y&R Nick Scotti (Tony Viscardi) had a couple of club hits, one with a Madonna connection
  14. I recall that at renewal time Runyeon only wanted to sign on for another year which P&G reluctantly agreed to. Thus Marland knew he had to write Steve off as they didn't want Runyeon holding them hostage for another 1 yr deal if he decided or could be talked into staying. As it stood,Steve/Betsy was not a priority for Marland especially as Frost didn't have the same appeal as Betsy that Ryan did and that whole story was pre Marland and winding down. I think that after this P&G stopped 1 yr contracts.
  15. Why did Bell bestow this on Linder and no-one else?
  16. He did follow Agnes so a lot of her very popular characters and stories were in place.
  17. Anders Hove (Faison GH.LOV) in Netflix new Danish thriller 'Chestnut Man' which is quite gripping.

  19. Wonder if we'll ever see Esther again? I would assume like Doug,Kristoff and Christian before her she was quietly put on recurring at some point, despite being in the contract cast list. Such a shame. If Gloria can pop up for no real reason, surely Esther can be seen. She could easily pop into the Chancellor estate(where she should be living) with a baby gift or meet Chloe at Crimson Lights to be a sounding board.
  20. The McColls were Dobson creations? Whatever they were a family from a previous regime who had already been sidelined and Marland wanted to bring in his have not family the Snyders so room had to be made. He claimed Marcy and Stewart were already on the way out when he arrived and he got rid of Maggie and Frank. In his first year or so, what other characters got the chop? Who did he bring in?
  21. As The World Turns Alan Howard was playing Paul Stewart at least until Feb 65
  22. Any mention of Reed coming to his mom's wedding?
  23. Pure speculation, but from reading articles from that time. Jada seemed like a very 60's free spirit, creative type who maybe found soap work a little restricting after a time. So she would do the work, make some money and then take off to travel etc. She also had a son around this time so maybe wanted to concentrate on that.
