  1. Daily Mail got an interview with LVP! Nothing shockingly new in the article, but it was a good one all the same, worth reading for fans of la Lisa. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-4628804/Lisa-Vanderpump-rise-fame-fortune.html Funny you should say that, I've been feeling a bit nervous because Kandi and Kenya have yet to fully commit to filming. Early filming has already started in Atlanta, apparently focused on Cynthia & Nene getting mani-pedis, and Shamea's wedding shower (which Kandi was obvs a part of). IA that Kandi is done. She is the only one on the show presenting her real life (and dealing with real life nasty rumors spread by Frick and Frack). Meanwhile, Sheree's housewarming, Porsha's faux boyfriend, and Phaedra's 'law practice' were all scripted fakeries last season. Kandi must be wondering why the hell she puts herself out there when the others don't. Kenya may have been an exception, but she certainly didn't parade her new hubby around, and Cynthia's lake house epiphany was cute but hardly putting yourself out there. The less we say about that vagina renewal episode, the better. As for Kenya, I hope she is back, if only so we can get closure on her and have a sneaky peak at her new life. Everybody's grandmother and her cat knows she is married by now. Porsha and Phaedra must be SEETHING! Season 11 could be a real game-changer, especially since Cynthia also seems ready to start a new chapter of her life, either in LA or NY. Porsha and Sheree will cling on as long as possible to that Bravo paycheck, but they are not nearly interesting enough upon which to base a reboot. Nene would have to stick around to make the new ATL in any way viable.
  2. You make a good point about organic/authentic HW picks. There's a reason the same men (Harry, Tom) keep popping up in these women's lives -- because they all marinate in the same UES social circle. I never thought I would ever say this but Jill does need to come back. She was on WWHL last week with Luann and pretty much dominated the chat and questions. Andy seemed to have warmed to her again. She seems a bit more self-aware and is game to be on the show. If Bethenny leaves after this season (because Bethenny is the real stumbling block to Jill holding an apple -- she has not forgiven her for S3 and will absolutely refuse to film with her), I could well imagine Jill returning to mix it up with the cast. The history with Ramona and Jill alone (and Sonja. And even Dorinda!)... Your point about their ages is a good one too. I like that Carole and Ramona are honest about their ages and the challenges facing a woman. On scripted TV and in film, most women over the age of 40 have been scrubbed from the canvas, so seeing real women talk and live this life (and it's a great life for the most part) is a real draw for me. As crazy as they are, there is something so real and dynamic and exciting about their experiences. It makes me less wary about growing older, too, lol.
  3. Ramona was on WWHL (with Jackie Hoffman aka Mamacita in Feud, who is AMAZING in every way and a RH fan). Ramona looked FANTASTIC, by far her best hair and make-up in over 3 years. She was also pretty lucid (for her) in explaining herself.
  4. IA, NY is missing larger-than-life characters like Jill, Aviva and Heather (the latter as a balancing Alpha Female force) and is starting to atrophy a little. Dorinda is perfection, but Tinsley is... sigh. Her mom Dale is more interesting than her, because she has a touch of Patricia Altschul about her (if you've watched Southern Charm, you'll know who I'm talking about). Her line to Ramona ("Your hair is very stunning that way") was the best straight-faced lie I've ever heard! Ramona and Dale are basically peers in age, and just seeing Dale try not to stare at Ramona's humongous bazonkas was a thing of beauty. If they wanted to keep Dale but let Tinsley go live her life in Chicago, I might be ok with that. Kenya could -- COULD! -- be that 'shot in the arm' NY needs. Mainly because she has a backbone and won't let herself be manipulated by Bethenny or Ramona. She would need to raise her game, because the NY cast are savvy, and some of the HWs are BSC and will eat you alive if you trip up. To paraphrase Nene, "dis ain't Phaedra Porsha!" That is, IF Bravo wants to do this. Which I don't think they do. They tend to like their shows um separated. I also think that Kenya is not beloved by Andy. He seems pissed the wedding happened off season, and the rumor is that her new husband does not want to be involved in filming. Which I totally understand, but it also cuts down on Kenya's ability to leverage her position. Lastly, if she leaves Atlanta, it would be a loss to that franchise. It also likely would mean that Porsha has one more reprieve to stay on the show -- yet again.
  5. It's gone so far this season with Ramona. She's always been messy af, but the reason it worked for the audience was there was usually some cold, hard truth to what she was saying (see: Ramona speaking truth to Bethenny crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, or dealing with Jill). Or it was hilarious (see: Heather trying and failing to change up Ramona's style). This season, it's like she has come unglued. She is actively striving to hurt Bethenny's professional reputation and LuAnn's marriage with half-truths and alternative facts. I don't recall her doing anything nearly as offensive even with Simon & Alex. It's like the producers told her to do something or else risk getting canned. Well, she has gone above and beyond and it might actually get her fired anyway. If Bethenny can eventually convince the other ladies not to film with Ramona (something Jill tried to do to Bethenny in S3), Ramona will be as good as gone. It's funny: Luann has been the target of Ramona's jealousy since day one, but she has never refused to film with her. It's like she understands that for both her and Ramona, RHoNY is their paycheck, and if they have to film together, so be it. Bethenny OTOH is already done with her, and it won't take much arm-twisting for Carole the lapdog to follow suit. Dorinda's pretty much done with Ramona too after she tore up her beloved Berkshires house. That just leaves Tinsley (who couldn't give af) and Sonja.
  6. We will agree to disagree on Joanna -- I personally thought the others drummed up more interesting drama than her labored "Romain doesn't get it up for me no more" SL. Joanna's nasty comments to Lisa Hochstein about her inability to conceive sealed it for me -- get that stinky coochie mama off my screen! I don't think Kenya and Apollo hooked up either. I think Kenya drew the line at his being married unlike Porsha & Peter Thomas -- or so say Mama Joyce's streets. Doesn't mean she wasn't attracted, though! Ugh crazy-pants LeeAnn still an utter loon. I'll give her props for showing up at Stephanie's in costume as her new nemesis -- but is Stephanie really a worthy opponent? She's so nice and normal. LeeAnn vs that husband-stealing ice-bitch Cary would be better.
  7. I can see that! And dare I say that this made him extremely attractive to Phaedra and Kenya (Miss Kenya might deny it, but she has a thing for bad boys). That scene in Anguilla in the grotto, Kenya in a bikini, breathing heavily and looking up at Apollo, who quickly divested himself of most of his clothing in order to partake of a grotto swim! LOL it was a rumor bandied about on Tamara Tattles. But yes, it would make such good story/fan fiction! I imagine many a gay fan has hoped that Apollo had experience on both sides of the fence -- and I don't just mean the prison fence! Sigh... Miami... without Joanna and WITH Karent... would have been epic.
  8. Yeah Christian was cute. And funny! And Romain! How could I forget his Frenchie gorgeousness? I kid, I kid! FTR, I think Romain had more chemistry with Adriana than that soulless trashpot Joanna. I really liked his straight-up approach to everything. (God, I miss Miami sometimes). Apollo was beautiful looking. You can tell that Ayden is going to be as stunning as his dad when he grows up. It's just too bad that Apollo was such a low-life fraudster. Andy Cohen seemed quite enamoured of him, too. You think there was any truth to the rumor that Andy tapped that before Apollo traipsed off the prison?
  9. http://www.realitytea.com/2017/06/20/lisa-rinnas-daughter-amelia-signed-img-models-plus-photos-trip-paris/ Welp. Looks like Rinna has now succeeded in Yolanderwhoring both her babies a modeling career of some ilk. I've said this before, and I'll say it again. I don't mean to be mean, but those two girls are not model material to me. They are cute girls in real life, but they are not stunning models. Much as I despise Yolanda, Gigi and Bella (after her nose job and new jaw) LOOK like models. They are amazons on the runway and are photogenic. The Rinna girls just do not pop off the page. And yes, I'm aware Amelia might already have a new nose in the above picture. Lydia has a backbone! Back in S8 she stood up to Heather's snottiness, politely but firmly. She balanced a friendship with Alexis and the rest of the cast (and was one of the few new HWs Tamra did not have beef with). She also stood up to Slade and Gretchen trying to belittle her and imply she had an eating disorder. Slade really showed what a bully he is towards women that season. And Gretchen just looked like an effing idiot backing 'her man' for being an a-hole. Lydia can read people pretty well, and now that she seems to be exposing Shannon's drama-queen BS, I think I am going to love her even more! Seems to me that the only reason Lydia didn't continue into S9 is because of what happened when Brianna's husband Ryan went PTSD bonzo on Lydia's mom. Hopefully with Ryan still in Oklahoma, Lydia's fairy-dust mom can appear every now and then. It's so funny you remember him as the hotness -- I couldn't remember what he looked like, so I've gone back to rewatch S9 lol. He's cute and all, but my taste in RH husbands is really questionable: I used to think Chris Laurita was a hottie. From an objective POV, NY's Mario Singer and BH's Mauricio (or "More-REESE" and Kim snarled at him) are or were considered the prettiest RH husbands, apparently.
  10. Brielle has grown up into a hateful, entitled, do-nothing. Who would've thunk it?
  11. I especially agree about Gizelle. From what little I have seen of this season, Bravo seem to be priming her to be the OG or tentpole character of Potomac. But I can't warm to her the same way I warm to Karen, who naturally draws you in to her diva ways -- tempered with a self-deprecating wink to the audience and balanced out with a good dose of vulnerability and realness. Karen has naturally become the queen of that show, and the other ladies are pissed. Particularly G and C. Also, all her VTs make Gizelle look so aging, like she is a chain-smoker. It's a shame because she really was a beauty in S1. Charrisse is a condescending blowhard and was just out to start something with Karen in that clip. BTW, in her VTs, Charrisse's Naomi-Campbell-knockoff wig looks even worse than the weave the wind was trying to drag from her scalp.
  12. Omg Jill's facelift is absolutely perfect! She resisted the urge to have her nose done, or to modify her face significantly. Consequently she looks like herself. Only younger and 100 times more radiant! I can now see why Bobby fell for that auburn haired firecracker back in the day.
  13. RHoNY Agree with everyone here that Luann's wedding was the perfect length to be shown. I couldn't sit through the entirety of Pandy Vanderpump's one-hour special on BH so I am appreciative that we got Lu's best bits in under 15 mins. Even though Luann's marriage is clearly headed over a cliff, it's her bed and she wants to lie in it. I imagine Luann's loneliness is her number one reason for marrying Tom; she enjoys hanging with him and she is a social creature. I can't hate her for wanting another chance at happiness. Jill really REALLY REALLY wants back on RHONY. Well, she'd be welcome at this point. I can't see Tinsley lasting beyond this season. I've been having a hard time motivating myself to catch up on RHoNY. Part of it is because ever since last season, Bethenny has kind of ruined the enjoyment for me. I know this year is meant to be her 'comeback season' as the Bethenny we all once 'loved and laughed with.' It's not happening for me. She's so abrasive and cold and mean. (And btw that ice drinking luge at her holiday party is a mono outbreak waiting to happen). Carole is awful too. I can't believe they trekked to Chinatown just for Carole to turn her nose up at the food. Asian cuisine, to me, is some of the most delicious on earth. Carole fronts as being so hipster and sophisticated, but she looks tone-deaf with this so-called 'comedy' moment. BTW, read somewhere that Carole's VTs are written in part by professional gag writers. Is this true? I thought she was the writer??
  14. What do you think of the seating order? I'm surprised Robyn and Charisse haven't switched seats.
  15. SCREAMS Tamara Tattles is reporting that KENYA MOORE GOT MARRIED! In St. Lucia. With her current boyfriend (not Matt). http://tamaratattles.com/2017/06/13/tamara-tattles-exclusive-kenya-moore-is-married/
  16. Y'all are making me want to watch Potomac! I don't think I have ever had that feeling before! On an OT note, I saw Star Jones and Vanessa Williams on WWHL and, wow, I would love either woman on a RH show. Vanessa on BH and I don't know whether Star lives in LA or NY, but she would be a great fit on NY. And ofc Atlanta, because it would piss Nene off so bad.
  17. omg THANK YOU for posting this episode which I consider peak SB. As a kid I shipped Kelly & Jeffrey hard, but for me this episode showcases a lot of really strong actors at the height of their powers. Nicolas Coster (Lionel), the underappreciated Kristen Meadows (Victoria), Justin Deas, Robin Mattson, Robin Wright, Marcy Walker, Lane Davies, A Martinez.... As OTT as the scenes were, I could watch Justin Deas and Robin Mattson slime their way around the Capwell characters any day of the week. It created a nice balance so that the Capwells didn't 'win' all the time. Lane Davies could recite his lines in his sleep, the way Mason handles deep sarcasm with actually caring for his sisters' (and brother's?) well-being is a fine balancing act. BTW his line to Gina "And everywhere that Timmons went, his lamb was sure to go" was GOLD. And props to Robin Wright, a model-turned-actress at the time, who was building on the talent that makes her a powerhouse actress today.
  18. Oh ITA that SB benefited from a 3PM slot (in the same way Sunset Beach should have, but it was shafted by a 12PM slot in many areas). Kids I knew in middle school watched Santa Barbara when they came home early on Friday afternoons. GH was for the 20- or 30-somethings at that time. I was in Boston, and our NBC affiliate did not even broadcast Another World (though the Worcester affiliate did; I only discovered the brilliance that was AW after it was cancelled, on YT). So Days came on at 2PM and Santa Barbara at 3PM. They were a package deal, and I watched both and loved both, sometimes going back and forth on which soap had the most compelling SLs of the moment. Both were LA-based (you could tell in the way they filmed, and in the acting: less actors with theatre on their resumes, primarily TV actors, and sometimes method-actorly). Both prioritised romance, so they were very complimentary partners. Indeed, after SB was cancelled, I kept up with Days, into college, where in the 90s Days was Must-Watch TV among the students. What prevented SB from being renewed in the end is that it lost some very important lead and supporting actors who were beloved by the core audience, and that's why it's viewing figures fell. To specify, I'm talking Lane Davies and Marcy Walker (and Justin Deas too) -- they were so strongly identified with the characters they played that they had trouble taking off as different characters on other shows (AMC apart). Losing tentpoles Mason and Eden was a fatal blow -- they held up two different sets of A stories during their entire run! And Eden leaving the canvas because she went nuts was... unsatisfying and depressing for me as a viewer. I know they recast Mason with Gordon Thomson, arguably one of the best recasts of the day. But Lane's imprint on the character was strong, and his chemistry with NLG had been powerful and visceral, that GT's chemistry with NLG looked more buddy-buddy than lover next to it. With the loss of those two, what to do? Refocus attention on Kelly, a character whom the writers never could quite define properly? She never quite took off though I loved her under Robin Wright's tenure. The Capwell clan was reduced in importance. They recast a lot, to the point where it was hard for lapsed viewers to get back into the show. The big mistake was to totally shift focus on a bunch of big-name new hires: Kim Zimmer, Sydney Penny, Jack Wagner. TPTB sort of expected to show up and shine their star power and SB would automatically be saved. I think long-time viewers rebelled after that. They felt they were being force-fed newbies.
  19. Andy Cohen once said on a podcast interview that he wanted Bruce Bozzi to be a HW on RHoBH. Bozzi is an LA restauranteur (of The Palm), and married to Bryan Lourd, Hollywood mega agent and Carrie Fisher's ex-husband. But Lourd told Bozzi he would divorce him if he ever did the show (and I believe he was only half joking), so Bozzi won't. But anyway, just to let you know Andy was considering a male housewife. And BH is probably the best show on which to do it. PK Kemsley, formerly East End wideboy, London property developer, and ex-football club Chairman (Tottenham Hotspur, New York Cosmos). No longer welcome in UK because alleged embezzlement allegations. Now in Beverly Hills claiming to be Boy George's manager and pushing his new wife Dorit to appear on RHoBH.
  20. That preview of the rest of the season is a hot mess! I wonder when the other cast members will point out the obvious, which is that Ramona is using... something, she has done for years, and it has made her belligerent and crazy. If somebody was acting like Ramona in my friendship group, that would be the first thing everybody would be asking. @Nothin'ButAttitude IA about Bethenny, I would also add that she has entitlement issues. She feels far, far above the other women (highest paid cast member, EP credit, Andy's BFF), which is why whenever they have something good going for them (especially professionally), she smacks them down, like 'Only one of us around here is allowed a successful business, and that would be me!' She is so wrapped up in what the business does for her status as a person. Now that she has scored two other shows, I would be stunned if she was still on RHONY next year. Carole attaches herself to whichever Alpha female is on the show, strokes their ego, and somehow convinces them to fight her battles. This contributed to Heather's downfall and did not help Bethenny's standing with the audience last season. Let's not forget that Carole was the one who first had an issue with Luann, because Adam. Then Heather and later Bethenny jumped in to tear down Luann in the eyes of the audience, and it rebounded badly on them both times. Yes we did miss you, mama, and we can't wait for your take on the braniacs of the OC!
  21. RHoNY: Finally caught up on the Berkshires. I take back what I said earlier about Ramonja; when they get together, they are very watchable. Sonja was the voice of reason this episode and I loved her for it. Both Ramona and Tinsley sound like they are heavily on the coke. Well, Tinsley could well have a head cold, but Ramona is an OTT mess at the moment. The way she is trying to kiss up to Bethenny in order to get into her good books was cringeworthy. Also her boobs look painfully hard. I almost -- ALMOST -- felt for Bethenny this episode. I have no doubt that Jason Hoppy is an emasculated, vengeful, cruel man who is dedicated to torturing his ex-wife. However, after Bethenny made amends with Luann, she and Carole disappear to sh*t-talk Lu yet again. She really has no empathy for anybody and looks down on all the women except for the Radziwill one (for obvious reasons). Bethenny seems ready to bolt from this franchise, especially now that she has Shark Tank and the property show with Fredrik Eklund. If that is the case, maybe Bravo are paving the way for Jill to return full-time. Luann rose above the sh*t and fended off every attack of fake concern. She knows Tom is shagging around and she doesn't care. I don't care at this point. Let her live her life as she sees fit. She knows these women are fake AF in pretending they care for her well-being, and without speaking a word, she let them expose themselves to the audience. She truly is cool under pressure.
  22. lol ok nevermind.
  23. ooo. maybe I should tune back in.
  24. To put it into context, Cheap has a new dp/avatar so I asked her what was going on with Katie on B&B. She explained. And I've continued talking about it, letting B&B hijack this thread because NY and Potomac aren't bringing it for me right now.
  25. Sounds like you are in the same boat I am. Yep, haven't watched in forever either.
