  1. What do you think of the seating order? I'm surprised Robyn and Charisse haven't switched seats.
  2. SCREAMS Tamara Tattles is reporting that KENYA MOORE GOT MARRIED! In St. Lucia. With her current boyfriend (not Matt). http://tamaratattles.com/2017/06/13/tamara-tattles-exclusive-kenya-moore-is-married/
  3. Y'all are making me want to watch Potomac! I don't think I have ever had that feeling before! On an OT note, I saw Star Jones and Vanessa Williams on WWHL and, wow, I would love either woman on a RH show. Vanessa on BH and I don't know whether Star lives in LA or NY, but she would be a great fit on NY. And ofc Atlanta, because it would piss Nene off so bad.
  4. omg THANK YOU for posting this episode which I consider peak SB. As a kid I shipped Kelly & Jeffrey hard, but for me this episode showcases a lot of really strong actors at the height of their powers. Nicolas Coster (Lionel), the underappreciated Kristen Meadows (Victoria), Justin Deas, Robin Mattson, Robin Wright, Marcy Walker, Lane Davies, A Martinez.... As OTT as the scenes were, I could watch Justin Deas and Robin Mattson slime their way around the Capwell characters any day of the week. It created a nice balance so that the Capwells didn't 'win' all the time. Lane Davies could recite his lines in his sleep, the way Mason handles deep sarcasm with actually caring for his sisters' (and brother's?) well-being is a fine balancing act. BTW his line to Gina "And everywhere that Timmons went, his lamb was sure to go" was GOLD. And props to Robin Wright, a model-turned-actress at the time, who was building on the talent that makes her a powerhouse actress today.
  5. Oh ITA that SB benefited from a 3PM slot (in the same way Sunset Beach should have, but it was shafted by a 12PM slot in many areas). Kids I knew in middle school watched Santa Barbara when they came home early on Friday afternoons. GH was for the 20- or 30-somethings at that time. I was in Boston, and our NBC affiliate did not even broadcast Another World (though the Worcester affiliate did; I only discovered the brilliance that was AW after it was cancelled, on YT). So Days came on at 2PM and Santa Barbara at 3PM. They were a package deal, and I watched both and loved both, sometimes going back and forth on which soap had the most compelling SLs of the moment. Both were LA-based (you could tell in the way they filmed, and in the acting: less actors with theatre on their resumes, primarily TV actors, and sometimes method-actorly). Both prioritised romance, so they were very complimentary partners. Indeed, after SB was cancelled, I kept up with Days, into college, where in the 90s Days was Must-Watch TV among the students. What prevented SB from being renewed in the end is that it lost some very important lead and supporting actors who were beloved by the core audience, and that's why it's viewing figures fell. To specify, I'm talking Lane Davies and Marcy Walker (and Justin Deas too) -- they were so strongly identified with the characters they played that they had trouble taking off as different characters on other shows (AMC apart). Losing tentpoles Mason and Eden was a fatal blow -- they held up two different sets of A stories during their entire run! And Eden leaving the canvas because she went nuts was... unsatisfying and depressing for me as a viewer. I know they recast Mason with Gordon Thomson, arguably one of the best recasts of the day. But Lane's imprint on the character was strong, and his chemistry with NLG had been powerful and visceral, that GT's chemistry with NLG looked more buddy-buddy than lover next to it. With the loss of those two, what to do? Refocus attention on Kelly, a character whom the writers never could quite define properly? She never quite took off though I loved her under Robin Wright's tenure. The Capwell clan was reduced in importance. They recast a lot, to the point where it was hard for lapsed viewers to get back into the show. The big mistake was to totally shift focus on a bunch of big-name new hires: Kim Zimmer, Sydney Penny, Jack Wagner. TPTB sort of expected to show up and shine their star power and SB would automatically be saved. I think long-time viewers rebelled after that. They felt they were being force-fed newbies.
  6. Andy Cohen once said on a podcast interview that he wanted Bruce Bozzi to be a HW on RHoBH. Bozzi is an LA restauranteur (of The Palm), and married to Bryan Lourd, Hollywood mega agent and Carrie Fisher's ex-husband. But Lourd told Bozzi he would divorce him if he ever did the show (and I believe he was only half joking), so Bozzi won't. But anyway, just to let you know Andy was considering a male housewife. And BH is probably the best show on which to do it. PK Kemsley, formerly East End wideboy, London property developer, and ex-football club Chairman (Tottenham Hotspur, New York Cosmos). No longer welcome in UK because alleged embezzlement allegations. Now in Beverly Hills claiming to be Boy George's manager and pushing his new wife Dorit to appear on RHoBH.
  7. That preview of the rest of the season is a hot mess! I wonder when the other cast members will point out the obvious, which is that Ramona is using... something, she has done for years, and it has made her belligerent and crazy. If somebody was acting like Ramona in my friendship group, that would be the first thing everybody would be asking. @Nothin'ButAttitude IA about Bethenny, I would also add that she has entitlement issues. She feels far, far above the other women (highest paid cast member, EP credit, Andy's BFF), which is why whenever they have something good going for them (especially professionally), she smacks them down, like 'Only one of us around here is allowed a successful business, and that would be me!' She is so wrapped up in what the business does for her status as a person. Now that she has scored two other shows, I would be stunned if she was still on RHONY next year. Carole attaches herself to whichever Alpha female is on the show, strokes their ego, and somehow convinces them to fight her battles. This contributed to Heather's downfall and did not help Bethenny's standing with the audience last season. Let's not forget that Carole was the one who first had an issue with Luann, because Adam. Then Heather and later Bethenny jumped in to tear down Luann in the eyes of the audience, and it rebounded badly on them both times. Yes we did miss you, mama, and we can't wait for your take on the braniacs of the OC!
  8. RHoNY: Finally caught up on the Berkshires. I take back what I said earlier about Ramonja; when they get together, they are very watchable. Sonja was the voice of reason this episode and I loved her for it. Both Ramona and Tinsley sound like they are heavily on the coke. Well, Tinsley could well have a head cold, but Ramona is an OTT mess at the moment. The way she is trying to kiss up to Bethenny in order to get into her good books was cringeworthy. Also her boobs look painfully hard. I almost -- ALMOST -- felt for Bethenny this episode. I have no doubt that Jason Hoppy is an emasculated, vengeful, cruel man who is dedicated to torturing his ex-wife. However, after Bethenny made amends with Luann, she and Carole disappear to sh*t-talk Lu yet again. She really has no empathy for anybody and looks down on all the women except for the Radziwill one (for obvious reasons). Bethenny seems ready to bolt from this franchise, especially now that she has Shark Tank and the property show with Fredrik Eklund. If that is the case, maybe Bravo are paving the way for Jill to return full-time. Luann rose above the sh*t and fended off every attack of fake concern. She knows Tom is shagging around and she doesn't care. I don't care at this point. Let her live her life as she sees fit. She knows these women are fake AF in pretending they care for her well-being, and without speaking a word, she let them expose themselves to the audience. She truly is cool under pressure.
  9. lol ok nevermind.
  10. ooo. maybe I should tune back in.
  11. To put it into context, Cheap has a new dp/avatar so I asked her what was going on with Katie on B&B. She explained. And I've continued talking about it, letting B&B hijack this thread because NY and Potomac aren't bringing it for me right now.
  12. Sounds like you are in the same boat I am. Yep, haven't watched in forever either.
  13. Brad Bell seems to have a hard-on for one character being obsessed with another for no reason. This is one of those times. So Katie is on the crazy train these days, huh. And Quinn kissed Ridge? I haven't watched B&B in two years... so I'm just going to accept this as a plot development which will probably be wrapped up by the end of this week.
  14. I'm so excited for this OC trailer, NY for some reason isn't doing much for me at the moment (Sonja whining about Tinsley, Ramona doing... whatever she's doing -- seriously, Ramonja seem to be on the fast track off this show -- Bethenny and Carole blaming Dorinda's house for their nasty, snotty behaviour). And I don't watch Potomac. I think I'm going to like Kelly this season, and I always liked Lydia, she isn't a pushover and she brings some lightness to the toxicity. Shannon blaming Vicki for her weight gain, lol ok. Shannon keeps using the Vicki feud to stay relevant. I actually understand why she hates her: because Vicki' s story kept changing during cancergate and she feels she is untrustworthy. But part of it also stems from jealousy that Vicki's "Get off my show!" had more than a ring of truth about it. Sigh, I see nothing that suggests Tamra getting her comeuppance. Also I just realised that Shannon and Vicki at odds benefits Tamra tremendously. Btw I had to watch the trailer more than once because I didn't recognise the Barbie doll masquerading as Gretchen the first time. I think this is the first time OC has had so many brunettes in its cast: 3!
  15. Yeah JJ is still in, and highly representative, of the porn industry, and that still has sleazy associations and connotations. I can't see her on BH which is the most aspirational RH franchise from a wealth/status POV. OT: Cheap, your avatar is making me laugh so hard. What is Katie crying about now?
  16. I'm going to say it. Seeing Jill and Bobby was a breath of fresh air. And Jill's face lift is the BEST I have ever seen. She still looks exactly like herself. Only better. And you know she still wants in! She's all about that RHONY gossip. BWAHAHAHAHA I am so ready for this. EXPOSE HA! I'm not sure about Lydia and the newbie having the balls for this show. Kelly, for all her flaws, had balls and stood up to the insidious nastiness. IA Heather should have come back just to be dragged by the people she ran off the show like Lizzy Grubman in a BMW. Alexis and Gretchen, stand up please! I despise both vacuous blondes, but Heather and especially Tamra really did a number on them, and maybe they should have some say in the payback. Then they can go back from whence they came.
  17. I'm not crazy about one-shoulder dresses, but Kelly probably looks the best out of all the HWs in this pic. Her body is insane! Interesting that Shannon and Meghan got centre shot. Lydia looks identical to how she did in S9.
  18. I never thought Kristen was that bad either, just a little dull. When you got a boring season (like season 6, aka the fake-leg-throwing season), Kristen's SL draaaaagggged. But her reaction to Aviva's leg-throwing was spot-on! I also wish she had stayed on in S8 so we could have seen the Ashley Madison fallout in her marriage, but I don't think Josh would EVER have agreed to that. Since then, NY has scrounged around for additional HWs and it's been hard-going. Hmmm, IMO they were both intimidated of each other. I think Heather was intimidated right off the bat, because Bethenny essentially iced her out. Then she tried to understand the vulnerabilities that drove Bethenny (which I think shows Heather's heart tbh), but Bethenny pushed her away at the Berkshires when she came on too strong. Unlike Heather, Bethenny never cared to find out what made Heather tick, what she was like as a person. Bethenny is profoundly incurious about anything that doesn't involve herself. Also unlike Heather, Bethenny just CANNOT support the other women's endeavours or work. She has to piss on them constantly, like she's the only one allowed to have a successful business. She couldn't openly piss on Yummy Tummy because it is a legit brand that sells, but she always would try to 'advise' Heather on what to market next lol. Bethenny was so insecure, but we didn't see it at the time. We see it now that she's shilling Skinny Girl Cured Meats on Instagram. That hair omg. I preferred it long but I think it's been thinning, hence why she chopped it.
  19. She got very preachy in her last season on NY (arguably THE best season of the show alongside seasons 2 and 3). She'd try and tell Bethenny how Bethenny was feeling and you knew that sh*t was never going to fly with B. She also sold Luann down the river in the Turks & Caicos by trying to slut-shame her, then turned on her for the sake of her BFF Carole. I also remember at Reunion, when the Ashley Madison thing was brought up, Heather immediately backed up Josh with that good ole throwaway line "Oh that's just Josh!" Having said that, I really liked and respected Heather! She was very necessary for the show. She was smart, grounded, a REAL businesswoman, legitimately wealthy, no BS, and she could laugh at herself. She was strong and emotionally honest. And she was the only one who could really handle Ramona and Sonja. There is heart and soul missing from the show now that she's gone. Yes, there is Dorinda, but D plays up to the cameras sometimes. Carole used to be the voice of the audience, but now she's stuck-up and soulless, having gone to the Dark Side with Beth Vader. It's so hard to get the dynamic between the HWs right, but IMO Season 7 had the magic line-up. They've stacked the deck in favor of Bethenny ever since, and as a result it feels off.
  20. I am in an OC frame of mind and ready for the show to return! NY is a little slow atm (dare I say it is missing a dynamic presence like Heather), so I'm in the mood to watch some uber-blonde ladies indulging in Survivor-style alliance tactics. I can't believe I am going to say this, but I even sort of miss Shannon emasculating David and screeching about how she can never forgive Vicki, are you kidding meeeeeeee??? Hopefully we will get a Mexico/Hawaii resort vacation where everybody gets drunk and shi*t gets EXTRA. Tamra's comeuppance is a decade in coming. I'd even tolerate Gretchen and Alexis showing up to witness it, much as I despise those two fake-asses. They were so betrayed and bullied by Tamra that they deserve to be there when it goes down. Two things I have to give Tamra: (1) she does speak the truth sometimes when it comes to Brooks or the Alexis/Jim Bellino and Gretchen/Slade fakery, and (2) she has wriggled out of some bad stuff before (naked wasted!!!). I think she will hold her own and not fold like Phaedra did.
  21. @DaytimeFan Avery is truly the only person that makes Ramona human. Contrary to what Bravo believes, that is actually the Ramona I prefer watching. Pinot McCrazyeyes is OK in doses (or on vacation) but this viciousness is pure acting out. Ramona is not happy deep-down, and I would guess it's because she is aging and can't stop it.
  22. RHoNY: Def a filler episode, where the cameras just follow the women to American Cut/Beautique. Tinsley making out with what looks like an 18-year old dressed for a family event was . Most of us have made out with a guy at a bar and lived to regret it after our accompanying friends ribbed us for it. However, that was in our 20s, in the days before Snapchat and Bravo recorded those moments for posterity. Tinsley was very thirstily kissing him at the bowling alley. I'm not sure if Tinsley is very naive when it comes to reality TV or if this is for the cameras, but feel like this may prevent a hoped-for reunion with her ex-husband and his family. Sonja bitching about Tinsley turning on the heat and daring to date, and the plant leaf in that gross brown water..... barf! Sonja's townhouse = Grey Gardens. This SL makes Sonja look like a prim spoilsport, which makes zero sense. She's always been open and happy about dating and sex. So why act like this? Prob because she's incredibly jealous of Tinsley. Bethenny's charity seems close to her heart, and I have to wonder how much of her personal experiences with Jason Hoppy influenced her decision to support it. Carole back to her old tricks bitching about Luann and her engagement behind her back. Just leave her alone and focus on pushing away your grungy hipster toyboy. Lately I can't seem to process Ramona being on my screen. Like she's there and talking nonstop and all I'm getting from her is "Whump whump."
  23. Sorry my post wasn't clear. I didn't mean 'set her up' in the sense that Porsha did something bad but wanted Phaedra to take the fall for it. Phaedra is nobody's pawn, least of all that nitwit Porsha's. I meant there was a particular moment when Porsha 'accidentally' revealed that Phaedra was the one who told her about the drugging lies. It was the moment everybody gasped and camera panned to all the faces lol. It came across as almost accidental on Porsha's part, especially after she had been defending her BFF all Reunion and basically sitting on this secret all season. It just came across to me as 'why now?' After protecting Phaedra's ass all season, why reveal it now, Porsha? As you say, who can blame Porsha for throwing herself a lifeline when things got hot for her? Perhaps she believed wholeheartedly what Phaedra was telling her up until that moment. Or perhaps she wanted to believe in such an awful lie because it hurt Kandi. Or perhaps Porsha knew it was a lie all along and spread it anyway? I think it's the latter. Wouldn't be the first time. But don't misunderstand me, Phaedra was the brains and instigator behind all this, and she deserves to get caught out and punished for it, ofc.
  24. The article suggests Fallon's ratings have stabilized lower rather than fallen down a dark well, but yeah Colbert is beating him by 0.3 million viewers now. I guess that's the driving motivation behind this boohoo 'I never care about the metrics' interview. He's still the face of the show.
  25. Crying all the way to the bank.
