EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Another enjoyable episode. Ian is hilarious. Trying to befriend his kids' friends on Mates Gates was so funny and pathetic at the same time. I had to look up Kelvin Carpenter on Wiki. I remember him and Carmel now. Now I feel old, like Ian does. Lucy is such a bitch at times. She is great. I hope the new Lucy is just as bitchy. I think Peter was brought by the stork. I love contrast between the two of them. How many years has Minty been mooning over Sam now? It is ridiculous. I can't believe that he proposed. However, kudos to Minty for telling Peggy off. She is so delusional about her parenting skills. Poor Ricky. I really hope that baby is not his or Jack's. Neither of them deserve to be stuck with Sam. I really liked Abi's hair, but the outfit sucked. The fear on Abi's face listening to Kim go on about styling her hair was so funny. I thought Vanessa was very sweet with Abi. Christian and Syed are so cute together. After all that over the top drama, it is nice to see them happy and in love. Syed looked very handsome in that suit. It is a surprising development:

I didn't know that Todd was fired. I have to admit that I wouldn't have liked to see Mark die from AIDS on screen.

Windsor has talked about coming back, but it seems like they are ushering her out permanently. The person who posts the Shannis clips on YT just put up Mark Fowler's death scenes. They are so sad and difficult to watch. It is good to see Wendy Richard. I have missed Pauline. They should have never killed her. Pauline should have been sent off to Florida to make Michelle and Sharon's lives miserable until it was time to kill the character off screen. Watching these scenes reinforce my opinion that Sharon has got to return. EE needs her presence to center the show and expand the Beales. I didn't realize that Ian lives in the Fowler house. Did he buy it or is it still the family house?

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I haven't watch Emmerdale for very long so I have no idea who Chris Tate is. However, there is no way that could see Nathan lording anything over the village without his mother to back him up. Nathan is a stupid cruel rich boy. It is impossible to believe that anyone in the village would be afraid of him. If Nathan had not set up Ryan, it might have been possible to believe that they could build a sibling relationship that would give Nathan ties to the village, but as things are now, I can understand why the writers would struggle to write for him.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I wouldn't be surprised if Lyndon was encouraged to leave. Without Nathan's family around, the writers probably couldn't figure out what to do with him. Unlike Nathan, Faith and Ryan have connections with the people in the village so they may be safe.

I want Sam's baby to be Minty's from a forgotten drunken night.

Awww, it is so good to see my Sharon, all sparkle with that smile. I'm sap. I love watching her stick it to Peggy. Nice to see Jaime and Mark too. Even Pauline managed a smile and some tears for Sharon.

Apparently, there was a tweet that the actress who plays Glenda will be back though for not how long. I'm sure that Glenda will be forgiven. It is a soap after all and as you pointed out Peggy was and I find her failure to protect her sons despicable.

I have never watched Corrie so I can't compare Little's work. I thought yesterday's script was fine. Nothing outstanding. Overall EE feels better scripted and the storytelling is more cohesive. There is a stronger sense of community and connection among the characters. I suspect that this is only happening because Kirkwood is laying the ground work for his own stories which will kick off with the Vic fire and Kat/Alfie's arrival. Once that happens, it will be plot point to plot point just like with Santer. The Peggy online stuff is okay. I am just not a fan. I'm looking forward to her departure. Hell, she can't leave fast enough for me.

I agree about Daniella Westbrook looking better with her natural hair color. I thought she looked horrible during her last stint with that brassy blond Mitchell woman dye job.

Gawd, I loved Shirley telling Peggy some hard truths about Phil. Phil's failure as a man and father can be laid right at Peggy's feet. Phil calling Peggy a nag was even better in the episode. I know it is wrong, but I quite enjoyed Phil dragging Peggy, tapping her cheeks and chucking her out. Bianca and Carol were so sweet. Poor hapless Ricky caught in the middle of those two and just as he wins over Bianca, Sam is pregnant. Poor Abi. Max and Tanya's self-destructiveness has hurt their children. The actress who plays Abi is very sweet. Vanessa in white with her white cat was hilarious. Max said that Darren wanted a "battered sausage." LOL!

Good episode. Any episode where Peggy gets it in the face is a good one for me. Aunt Sal was hysterical. I'm glad that she told Peggy where to get off with her "Mitchell family" delusion. I don't know why Peggy loves her horrible husband's relatives more than her own sister. Sal nailed everyone of the dysfunctional lot. I think Jack for sleeping his way through the family and Pat stealing her husband back from Peggy were my favorite ones. I'm going to have to re-watch it many times. I'm sure that Ronnie and Roxy will forgive Glenda eventually, but what she did was unforgivable. I hate these parents who do wrong by their children and then, claim that they did their best. I don't know why Shirley apologized to Heather. Heather needs to grow the hell up. She is a mother and needs to learn to take care of herself and her son. I did like Shirley telling Zsa Zsa that she was ungrateful. Bianca lecturing Carol about topics of conversation for her date was very funny. Carol looked very pretty on her date. I like Lewis and the kiss was very nice. I hope this relationship works out. Carol could do with a smile on her face. Max and Jack in the pub make me smile. I love them so much now. Jack knew without Max saying a word that having Darren around eased the pain of losing Bradley for Max. Darren and Max are still wonderful together. I am so glad that they have been paired up. I liked our brief glimpse of Harry Gold. He seems like a tough guy who would give those Branning brothers real problems.

I wouldn't mind if Kat told Zainab some hard truths. Preeya may be back sooner than expected. I would love for Amira to return for a short stint at least. Shabnam also. However, there are not enough available men in their late 20s and 30s for the women already in the Square. Kirkwood needs to fix this.

For me, Jane isn't all innocent. She knows what Ian and Lucy are like and she stays and/or comes back after threatening to leave. I also think they lie not only because it is the way they are, but because they are scared that Jane will leave. It is a lack of trust that she can love who they really are, annoying schemers albeit quite loving at times. Jane also has this thing going on with Masood on the side. Yet I too understand how this huge lie can send Jane over the end. I hope that Ian and Jane talk honestly with each other when everything comes out. I actually think they can do with a nice long separation, a year or so would do. It would rejuvenate both characters.

I am very excited to see how Jane's revenge plot against Ian unfolds. I suspect that it won't end well for either of them, but should be good.

You might be right about Glenda. I hadn't considered Ronnie's upcoming wedding. I would to see them do something positive with her character.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I think that Glenda maybe done. They did not give her a good excuse for ignoring the abuse and everyone is back at the Vic in preparation for the fire. Glenda could be one of the victims of the Vic fire, thereby giving Ronnie and Roxie more tragedy. Just my speculation here. That is why it looked for familiar. Classic old school. I liked it a lot.

Well, it is clearly my perception of the Hollyoaks cast. I'm just pleased to see how Kirkwood is showcasing some of the overlooked EE cast. As long as Kirkwood improves the pacing, I'll be happy. I know that EE does a lot of block taping to save money, but how those scenes are aired impacts how invested the audience becomes in stories. I just hope that Kirkwood pays attention to this aspect of his storytelling better. LOL! Good job telling Peggy off, Aunt Sal. Peggy's family is a dysfunctional nightmare. I love how Jack, Roxy, and Billy are cracking up at the table. They know that Aunt Sal is right.

First, Rudolph Walker and now Lindsey Coulson and Linda Henry. I like Kirkwood's approach to using the EE cast so far. I really thought that he would focus on the younger actors like he did on Hollyoaks, but it really feels like he is determined to use a variety of talented actors on EE. The one thing I hope that he improves is the pacing of stories. It was horrific under him at Hollyoaks and not much better with Santer at EE. I know that there are budgetary restrictions at work, but still. He can do better to interweave stories and reduce if not eliminate the black holes that they disappear into for months at a time.

Another good episode. I like the transition in the final scenes. Kirkwood is putting his touch on EE. Linda Henry is so talented. She is a fine too often overlooked actress. I hope this is a sign that Kirkwood plans to use her better than Santer did. Shirley has got to stop being Phil's doormat. He better beg Shirley to come back to him when he gets his life back together. Phil is scary as hell. I can't believe Minty and Ricky let Shirley go in there with Phil alone. I can't stand Phil, but I almost felt sorry for him when he was lying broken on the ground today. Kudos to Steve McFadden. I am not crying for Heather. Her stupidity got her in this situation. Poor Ronnie. Her mother is a piece of work. No wonder she is such a mess. I couldn't figure out what expression Scott Maslen was going for as Jack sat there listening to this horrible story. It did not work. It was good to see Syed and Christian flirting and happy. This is the stuff that they never got to do at the beginning of their relationship. Their scene was a nice set up for next week's drama.

Stephan is a nice looking guy. KIrkwood should consider keeping him around. There are other single women in the Square who need love interests.

It was a nice moment for Ronnie and Roxy. LOL! You totally cracked me up with the Easter basket comment, it describes her outfit perfectly. She is a wealthy woman living in London, that dress was the best that she do? Ronnie at least looked halfway decent.

I want to hear Glenda's explanation for why she didn't stop Archie or take the girls away first. Maybe Archie threatened to kill her or them or something horrible. There needs to be a believable reason for Glenda staying silence. It isn't like Peggy is much better. She didn't do anything to stop her husband from beating the hell out Phil as a child.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I enjoyed this episode a lot. I knew that Glenda knew about Ronnie's abuse. I can't believe that she left her daughter to suffer Archie's abuse. Roxy's yellow dress was horrible. Who on earth would wear something like to a club? I can't believe that Darren went through with the circumcision.. What was he thinking? Then he gets kneed in the groin. Poor dude. LOL! Wow, Carol's make over made her look very pretty, but her dress was not suited for a club. Bianca is a good mum. Who knew?! Whitney crying over Billie is so realistic. Teens her age think that every heartbreak is the end of the world. A fried peanut butter/ banana sandwich sounds disgusting. I can't bring myself to care about Heather and Shirley's eviction. It isn't like they will be on the street. They will land somewhere. Phil looks so cruddy. He looks like he smells rank. Ugh.

I thought the episode was alright. It had some nice moments. The Brannings have grown on me as a family. I also liked Jack telling Carol that this was not the time or place. Jack and Max teasing Rick about JR and Cliff Barnes was a nice family touch.I just hope this is the beginning of Carol going in another direction. Phil looks so bad. The scenes were Minty were well done. I'm so sick of Peggy and the Vic. Too bad Roxy gave in and gave it to her. I won't miss Peggy. Roxy and Ronnie were fun painting, but as sisters, I'm just not fond of them. They don't make me that they have the deep sibling bond that I see with Max and Jack or Jane and Christian. The Jane/Ian spoilers are interesting:
