  1. No she hasn’t at all, however:
  2. @Khan @Franko Thank you! Yep that’s the one I was thinking of. I couldn’t remember what it was called but remember I watched taken aback by how mediocre the show was, especially with Terri Garr, an actress I always admire, being pretty lackluster. Lisa Rieffel was on it too? Amazing she darkened both GG and DW spin-offs.
  3. That might be it. I was thinking Early Edition but it looks like it ran entirely on CBS.
  4. Maybe it was out of vengeance for Victor making him sign documents while in the middle of a heart attack last year? That would make sense although the show hasn’t explained why. Again today the Abbott story is far far superior that anything Newman related. Walters is doing wonderful and for a change both PB and MS actually finally acting once again instead of sleepwalking through the dreck. Although I agree Phyllis trying to be the voice of reason is ridiculous.
  5. Pretty sure it was late in the first season, by season 2 the dad had gone completely cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs and living in the basement talking to his son’s evil rabbit doll.
  6. Good point. I was thinking more along the lines of In the Heat of the Night, Unsolved Mysteries, Family Matters, Step by Step, Hogan Family etc. Not to mention other failed spin-offs ie Golden Palace, 704 Hauser, Bob, and that Delta Burke show. I think there was another show CBS did pick up too from anther network and some success with it as well but for the life of me I can’t remember at the moment what show it was.
  7. It’s pathetic that this show which had been finally refocused a few months ago is back to utter drivel again. Twist or no twist this is getting painful to watch again.
  8. Re: Victoria’s accident. This being JG’s Y&R, my guess is Victoria will probably need a kidney transplant following being seriously injured and Ashland turns out to be a perfect match, so he donates one of his to save her life. All the Newman’s are surprised and thankful for the sacrifice. Nate tells Ashland how proud he is of Ashland and how it’s never too late to become a good guy. Ashland gets a job as a hospital administrator and wooes Victoria back. In the end, a big surprise party is thrown for Ashland by everyone in honor of becoming a good guy. I figured Rey’s ending would come during May sweeps and be something off screen. If Rey dies at least make it interesting; a heart attack while having sex with Chelsea?
  9. So glad to see Ace back, the bright spot of the classic series’ final days. That said, this whole Chibnall era has been seriously boring and messy long overdue to end. Although I’m not sure what an RTD 2.0 era will bring. LOL speaking of which I keep seeing a lot of talk that Tennant is coming back to the role just with a different Doctor personality. I can’t tell if it is just speculation or if there is some actual truth to it.
  10. I think what doomed CBS overall was they were slow to change and adapt quickly which resulted in an identity crisis for CBS during the Larry Tisch & Howard Stringer years. Sure CBS had hits like Northen Exposure, Murphy Brown, Nanny, Chicago Hope and Walker Texas Ranger but they are all largely forgotten today. CBS seemed to get to a point where they were throwing anything to see if it stuck quite recklessly: making the dead last morning show very quirky, snatching dying shows from other networks, putting Connie Chung on the evening news and giving Andrew Dice Clay a sitcom? With the ideas like that no wonder the network was floundering. Makes you think doesn’t it? Also after Howard Stringer, who once claimed he didn’t believe in cable TV, left his mess at CBS he moved to become head of Sony America about the same time of Sony’s takeover of Columbia and lasted a decade there. Hmmm…..
  11. Very true. The Equalizer had some success but wasn’t always consistent quality wise. Beauty and the Beast had a cult following but it didn’t translate into the mainstream. Grandparents watched Jake and the Farman but we never did. And yeah I vaguely remember my dad watching Tour of Duty occasionally but that’s about all I remember of the show. My parents still watched Dallas to the bitter end but traded Knots for LA Law.
  12. Lol I think I remember reading about now but didn’t pay attention to it as they were two washed up has beens a by that point, especially Mohr. Maybe early on, but once the husband went batshit crazy the show I think the comparison stopped there.
  13. I think The Kelly Simmons story was a complete silly mess and I didn’t think Christine should have ever gotten involved with Michael. Friends sure I could see but Michael, even when he was hanging out with Diane, Phyllis, and Marisa but he was still obsessed with Christine and involved himself in her life a lot. She should have known better but I guess Paul had to be trashed with the rape for them to even go there. Isabella also could have been recast and not gone crazy either, the character itself could have gotten a lot of mileage out of it. I liked Paul and Christine together but the problem is they were the hero and heroine of the show as well as both peripheral characters so they could easily fall into the doldrums. Like her and Danny before, she and Paul were boring by themselves. Paul was better with vixens like Cassandra and Lauren; maybe in 1993 Christine should have gotten entangled with Brad by helping him out legally over custody of Colleen, which would have put her in the crosshairs of Lauren and, well the way she was written from 1992-94, a NASTY Traci on the warpath. Or Christine could have fallen for a sexy new bad boy PI working with Paul who was edgy with questionable ethics with a troubled past including his jealous ex-wife Phyllis lol.
  14. Cox was indeed on it along with Berfield. Like Hodge, I have no idea what they’re up to either. I don’t think any of the Malcolm kids act anymore and haven’t seen Cox in anything since Las Vegas ended.
  15. Stephanie Hodge? Lord I mostly remember her from that strange and creepy WB sitcom Unhappily Ever After which started off as a Married with Children rip-off until the husband had a psychotic break and started talking to a rabbit doll every episode. It was surreal to say the least lol. I don’t know what she has done since. I forgot Warfield was even on Empty Nest; her character was pointless too.
  16. Nothing seemed to work for ABC on Thursday nights at all in the 80’s and 90’s lol. I remember as a kid liking the Charmings sitcom but that quickly flopped. They burnt through so many shows and news programs I think only Primetime Live lasted. Eventually they just ran movies on Thursday nights. It wasn’t until Grey’s Anatomy moved to Thursday nights in 2006 they finally made headway. At least CBS and Fox had some moderate success on Thursday nights.
  17. Be thankful that Carlivati never wrote for ATWT.
  18. Sheila jumping off the roof in her wedding dress in 1997 was absolutely epic; this past week was absolutely not epic at all….. But I do think KB and KA did very well in light of the material.
  19. Personally if Devon & Amanda had to get the baby crazies after Don’s birth I would have gotten Amanda pregnant, with the two happy but also fearful of the future and wondering if they made the right choice given their childhood. Then bring in Amanda’s newfound family and a returned Yolanda/Harmony as interlopers to create additional tension. Would have been miles better the garbage that we saw.
  20. I had to laugh when a clueless unaware Abby appeared for the first time in weeks enjoying a cup of coffee with Ashland completely oblivious to the Ashland situation. Like no one even bothered to fill her in? But yes thank god to that story being ditched. Devon & Amanda becoming neighbors with Nate & Elena is basically a tired sitcom plot. Sharon is busy doling out cookies, coffee, and life advice at Crimson Lights like she is Caroline Brady or Nancy Hughes.
  21. I agree. I didn’t care for it as much but after rewatching some of that period on Pluto TV both Kyle and Summer were edgier and more interesting until two things: 1. Kyle’s big bad deep dark secret about something he did in NYC turned out be to be nothing at all. 2. The show spent two years telling us Kyle and Lola were soulmates only for him to abruptly dump her for Summer again. Theo was the more interesting one and of course once he finally got something juicy material to do they wrote him out. Ugh.
  22. Same. I was disappointed there was no immediate Diane follow-up. It was interesting watching Wednesday’s watching the the Abbott dynamic vs. the Newman. The Abbott dynamic felt pretty warm and the interaction between the four well, was dynamic and fun! The Newman’s just feel cold and icy, and the interaction just lukewarm and tiresome. It would have more interesting if either Victor and/or Nikki have some type of inkling that Diane was alive creating at least some type of uneasy undercurrent to their family feud, like feeling distracted or distressed about something worse coming their way without letting the kids know about it but it be noticeable. I agree Newman has done a terrific job as Ashland so far as been able to a wider range of emotions and energy than I think Burgi did. I probably sound like a broken record by now but Ashland needs additional relatives; this whole Newman-Locke story would have worked out far better with Locke kids from a previous marriage ingratiating themselves in GC as well. The past few weeks there’s only been A&B stories on the show, I guess they realized they rest just wasn’t working out and relegated everyone else to F and Z stories as talk to characters? LOL.
  23. LOL that would be so camp! I could also B&B sniffing up Carlivati’s alley by having Steffy create a Hope face mask for herself to wear.
  24. So true. The other thing I have speculated/rumored now is Steffy is going to wake up with DID and think she is Hope and that Hope is Steffy. Given how such an outlandish plot is already awful on Days, I can’t even imagine how such a story would play out on B&B. @edgeofnik I’m dying laughing 🤣 Thudley and Casey would be proud of those spoilers, only thing missing is a vague line about someone dying.
  25. We’ll probably get some “shocking” twist next month when JMW goes on maternity leave of where Steffy either goes back into a coma or gets hauled off to a psych ward.
