  1. That’s quite the close-up 🤣🤣
  2. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Guess I’ll have to watch it now to see what this “big surprise” is.
  3. I remember many of the bookend episodes as well. I liked a good deal of them, others not so much. I’m glad you mentioned Dennis Stanton he along with Harry was one of my favorite recurring characters. And “Murder According to Maggie” is definitely my favorite bookend episode! Having both Diana Canova and Leann Hurley in that episode did wonders. After being a Sunday evening staple in our house in the 80’s (it airing at 7PM Mountain time) I feel like the ‘91-‘92 season our family just stopped watching together as by then we had multiple TV’s and cable, and my parents became obsessed with Nick at Nite around that period. I can say for sure by ‘93 I was watching Lois & Clark or Fox on Sunday evenings instead. The last live episode of MSW I vividly remember watching was Jessica getting kidnapped from her own book signing in Miami by Cuban/Russian smugglers and locked in a trunk…it was over the top campy. I didn’t watch the later seasons in full until I saw them rerun on A&E and wow the Ireland episodes were…something else. I did love the South by Southwest movie, of course Harriet Sansom Harris stole the show. I actually recorded it on a separate VCR at the time because of The X-Files long awaited Season 5 premiere aired the same night and time that I watched in real time, and I recall the movie flopped in the ratings but it didn’t deter CBS from ordering two more MSW movies.
  4. What the heck was up the 1983 miniseries Malibu? I know it was mentioned in passing several pages back. Was it planned to be a continuing primetime series? I only watched the opening theme, and the song was horrendous. The NYTimes review wasn’t too kind either lol: Start with Kim Novak, George Hamilton, James Coburn, Eva Marie Saint, Valerie Perrine, Anthony Newley, Troy Donahue and some lesser personalities. Add chunks of love affairs, financial finagling and television careerism. Garnish generously with beauteous bodies on beach and in boudoir. And there you have ''Malibu,'' the four-hour television movie showing in two two-hour parts on Channel 7 at 9 P.M. today and tomorrow. If the resultant stew smells a bit familiar, like leftovers from ''Dallas'' or ''Dynasty,'' that is not unintentional. Among the characters whose interrelations I shall not attempt to summarize are a real-estate dealer (Kim Novak) whose function is to introduce the summer visitors to the regulars and all of them to viewers; an easily impressed middle-level executive from Milwaukee who is in peril of being corrupted by the Malibu ambiance (William Atherton); a highpowered lawyer with low-level ethics (James Coburn); a charming operator (George Hamilton); a promiscuous yet wholesome tennis pro (Chad Everett); an entirely unbelievable television journalist (Ann Jillian); a recluse who pops up periodically as a kind of jogging gag (Troy Donahue), and wives in various stages of distress (Eva Marie Saint, Susan Dey and Bridget Hanley). Served this sort of dish, one manages by picking out the more palatable tidbits. Tastes differ, of course. My preference goes to George Hamilton, who adds an extra fillip to his performance as a thoroughly implausible con man by letting us know with a gesture, an expression and an attitude, that he knows the whole show is a con; James Coburn, who can give a cynical edge to the emptiest line, and Valerie Perrine, who brings to her role as the resident gay divorcee as much sex as it calls for and seems to have plenty in reserve. For the rest, there's that ambiance: ''That's what Malibu is all about,'' says Miss Novak, ''ambiance.'' Or, as someone else puts it, ''The whole world wants to live in Southern California, and everybody in Southern California wants to live in Malibu.'' Maybe so, but with advertisements featuring residents like this crowd, real-estate dealers like Miss Novak may be in trouble.
  5. LMAO!!! I haven’t watched this week at all but these posts have me rolling I’m tempted to see just how much a train wreck this show was for Sheila’s “funeral(?)” With Y&R in the doldrums (what else is new?) and B&B in freefall to the lowest depths of hell, it really is time for CBS to bring on The Gates!
  6. “Lick”? https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/y-r-spoilers-pairing-lick-173000379.html
  7. 🤬 And LOL I don’t know what’s going on with Sarpy, but I seriously doubt we’ll ever see Elena again.
  8. I’m glad @Taoboi! As always I’ll try not to spoil too much. I thought at first that Tuesday 4/2 was going to be a Snoozeday but I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Cole/Victoria scenes. Obviously HT would have been a joy to have back, but Peck as Cole should’ve been brought back a decade ago and surprisingly AH actually did the nostalgia factor well as the two dust off their chemistry from their AMC days. And I’m curious on where Claire goes from here. Yesterday she was given ridiculous recycled Poor Mariah & Tessa reduced to nothing over their non-house hunting story. 😵‍💫🙃 Honestly at the moment a Kyle/Summer reunion with tension actually makes the most sense. I don’t know why we were denied a Summer/Audra fight, but Kyle/Summer felt more natural than anything Chance/Summer lately and that’s because of some bad writing with JG being to blame. If I had to write Y&R in 2024, there’d be an immediate refocus on all characters lol. First thing first, Chancellor-Winters gets dissolved when it’s realized the company is unprofitable, plus it’s realized the mysterious company is slowly raiding up all the assets. Newman Enterprises still stands with Victor, Adam and Victoria finally coming together on a common ground. Claire wants to put her previous business acumen along with experience with kids to use and prove her loyalty to the Newman’s by proposing a new special fun fragrance/deodorant that is kid friendly. This inspires Victoria to revive Brash & Sassy Jabot with Jack, Billy, and Ashley return fire by developing their own kid-friendly fragrance/deodorant. Ally returns to help and reveals she’s broken up with Noah but for unknown reasons. Meanwhile everyone is uncertain when it’s discovered Jill still has power at Jabot to install Lily as PR at Jabot Diane goes back to architecture and Kyle quits Jabot to help her out, but by both are bothered when Tucker approaches them with a new office building in Genoa City for the same mysterious company that devoured Chancellor-Winters and it’s deduced he’s in bed with the company. Fenmore’s is in trouble again, so Lauren requests the assistance of both Summer and Sally to their dismay and also has hired Audra as the crisis manager. Fireworks ensure. Chance quits business and starts his own private security firm with Daniel running IT and quickly gets employed by Newman, Jabot, and as well as Tucker for his mysterious company. Nate quits business to return to medicine in a general practice with Elena in charge and invites Sharon to get involved as they need a therapist. Devon and Abby launch a new musical/nightclub venue in a join venture with Tessa and Mariah. Fen returns and reveals to Michael and Lauren that he’s broken up with Trey after Trey cheated on him with Noah Newman. There’s an uproar, but Audra, Mariah, and Ally all confirm Noah’s sexuality. In the meantime Tucker meets with boss of the the mysterious company he’s collaborating with it. It turns out the boss is a Trey Prentiss and Trey plans for Prentiss Industries to rule Genoa City once more.
  9. Haha here’s my thoughts on that April Fools Day episode: ED is doing great at cracked Ashley and I’m glad Traci had realized that Ashley has cracked too. Actually the acting from ED, TSJ, ZS and BM is the only saving grace for a story that doesn’t make sense to begin with. The Summer/Claire scenes were okay but low energy. Claire was given recycled Kevin dialogue…come back to this after Claire has seduced Kyle and revert to true form lol. Kyle and Diane had a tiff I must have missed, but given they have had the same conversation about resentment for months now, it’s not that interesting and actually shallow instead of their being a more psychological depth. I think a story of Diane resurrecting her architectural career would have been better. The OCD story is over the top bad and depressing. Connor getting institutionalized seems unnecessarily cruel. Did JG have a bad childhood? Finally as much as I love CZ, Jordan getting new disguise and new revenge scheme every month is getting old, like she’s now Elmer Fudd or Wiley E. Coyote.
  10. Ugh. I just wrote a whole post on my thoughts on Monday’s episode, then the page suddenly refreshed on its own and my comments gone. It just wasn’t meant to be 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 I’ll have to share later.
  11. Jordan’s newest disguise lol….🤣😵‍💫
  12. The mega reveal of Cole revealing he isn’t sure whatever happened to his Aunt Molly who was Eve & Jordan’s older half sister! 🤣🤣🙈 Thudley has a short memory lol. And for credit Lauren’s 40th anniversary episode did casually mention Sheila’s death by bear with Lauren saying she was not buying it last year, yet Lauren & Sheila have still yet to cross paths after all these close encounters since 2017 🙄
  13. At this point I actually wish Sheila would pop up again on Y&R at least to tie up the loose ends…imagine Sheila and Lucy visiting in secret behind everyone’s backs? But that’s too much drama to Thudley II to write 🙈😵‍💫🤣
  14. Holy cow!!!! I had to read thrice to make sure it wasn’t an early April Fool’s joke! Downside @Soapsuds is the show brings on Spencer Olsen as Leo’s new love interest 🙈🙈🙈
  15. Anyone who is a fan of what Thomas has become is just as delusional as Thudley himself. I actually do wonder if’s he’s gone mad/crazy over how CBS didn’t actually renew B&B but picked up the one year option with no fanfare compared to the attention and press that Y&R’s 4-year renewal and the announcement of The Gates being in development has gotten. Desperation can cause recklessness.
  16. I remember that lol wasn’t that that Victor’s (or Summer’s?) dream when he was imprisoned? I also saw that blurb about Billy & Phyllis. I mean I was okay with JT and GT years back, but JT and MS together is always silly.
  17. Thanks @dragonflies!!!
  18. Wow, sorry to hear. From what I’ve seen of her AW work she was pretty great as the psychotic Olive. Never found a concise answer if Gwen Sherman was related to Mitchell Sherman, I think someone wrote Gwen was his sister but I don’t know if that is true or fanfic. Did Leak have any other soap work besides Y&R and AW?

  20. Okay, so I caught a few mins of B&B today after boycotting the past couple weeks, only to get to the line that Douglas told Hope that dead. “Dad was good enough for her,” when talking about Caroline. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 How soon Thudley forgets about the rape and the fake dying story. Also Thudley needs to see a therapist.
  21. Boy I guess JG chose this week was his week to revisit all of his C and D plots and characters complete with a Winters Wednesday 😵‍💫. After predicting it would be a month before we’d see Lily/Daniel/Heather again, I was wrong by it was only 2 days lol. Of course I imagine we now won’t see them for another month when we have a scene of Billy telling Devon & Lily “I told you so” when Omegasphere underperforms without Daniel. And Devon and Abby compared themselves to Heather/Daniel with the way they hurt Chance & Amanda…LOL! Actual all of Wednesday was FF material.
  22. What in the hell is the Vine doing back?!!? 🤢🤢🤢 Didn’t Ivy have to marry Liam over a green card, despite the Vine being technically a US citizen? Not one of Thudley’s brighter moments. Last I thought about the Vine was a few years back I proposed a “Who Killed Liam” story with Steffy, Finn, Thomas, Hope, and Vinny as suspects but then discovering a secretly returned to town Ivy did still bitter about the marriage, while Hope left town, Steffy & Finn and Thomas & Vinny got their happy endings 🤣
  23. So true, and it’s actually pretty annoying as well. Devon has zero room to be judgmental as he has caused even worse emotional and physical damage before. I think it’s why my opinion of Devon has lowered a bit over the years lol. Onto 3/26, Y&R’s 51st anniversary… I‘m liking the new Sally/Audra friendship and Audra definitely looked pretty in pink. Another highlight is Nate/Audra. In our throwback to 1996 story of the day, actually Phyllis having a miserable ending was fitting while Danny and Cricket went on with their romp. Phyllis mentioned it was too early for champagne, just how early in the day was it? 🤣 Where exactly is the story about Connor going? Because shipping Connor off to some institution sounds a bit much. Where exactly is Ashley’s split personality story going as well? The whole thing reeks of a poorly thought out story idea that didn’t fully make it out of development stage.
  24. Lord don’t ask me why, but this just gave me a bad flashback to Darius McCrary’s Malcolm do nothing on Y&R except making his famous sandwiches all the time for months. 🙈
  25. Monday 3/25, back to reality! As far as Lily/Daniel/Heather while I’m glad to see Lily finally get to unleash some rage against Heather, the whole thing feels a tad underwhelming. Disappointed about “Daily 3.0” falling apart, but I get the notion with the aftermath the show wasn’t actually fully invested in them aside from nostalgic purposes and have become an afterthought. It’ll probably be a full month before we see these three again. I had thought Danny & Christine had already left town, so nice to see them having a romp before they actually do leave, and a nice nostalgic reunion in time for the show’s 51st anniversary tomorrow. However, that coffeehouse folk song that played over their love making scenes was embarrassingly bad…it sounded like a song that would’ve played in the background at Crimson Lights during the Latham or MAB era. Phyllis pulling the fire alarm was so childish and pathetic LOL. Today’s show proved how pointless Phyllis is anymore. I like the bond between Nikki, Claire, and Victoria, it’s actually some actual warmth feeing we haven’t seen with Newmans in like two decades. The show’s ending with the Jordan reveal should have been last Wednesday’s cliffhanger.
