I wonder if this year we’ll see a lot of surprises when the Oscar nominations are announced.

The CBS soaps are committing harakiri before our very eyes. I hope Paris throws Zoe all the way under the bus.

All the TikTok kids are doing the “Buss It” challenge. I was trying to find a dude doing it, but here’s the general idea. It’s basically the Harlem Shake meets twerking.

This all sounds like status quo and absolutely dreadful. It’s unbelievable that they haven’t taken the hint that the show isn’t working.

I actually agree about Zoe/Paris. Zoe only works as a bad girl, so it’s good that she’s showing her claws. I can’t with Bill and Katie, though. So over them.

I can’t lie. I kind of agree. Especially Newman. I wouldn’t have minded if the Newman family had been phased out in the past 10-12 years. Whenever I think of what I’d do with Y&R, I’m least inspired by the Newmans and their game of thrones. They are overexposed. Their dynamics are stale, AH and JM are meh performers, and the Newmans’ ungodly wealth doesn’t come across at all in the new low-budget normal. They are anachronistic. It’s sad that the Jabot set now looks like generic WeWork office space rentals. And old Y&R had a level of specificity that they can no longer portray. You could actually see a lot of the work. Ashley in her lab testing samples, etc. In a show, don’t tell world, Y&R has a lot more “tell” than “show.”

Here’s the trailer for the five-part limited series It’s a Sin, written by Russell T Davies (Doctor Who, Cucumber/Banana, Queer As Folk). It’s set in the UK during the AIDS epidemic. Looks great. I’m a huge fan of RTD. Neil Patrick Harris co-stars. Starts streaming on HBO Max February 18. (In Britain, it airs on Channel 4.)

I suppose it’s good that, during this amnesia story, GH is acknowledging Sonny’s bipolar disorder by showing him in his manic state while off his meds. I just wonder where it’s going to lead.

That was a damn good era for Kin Shriner’s beard and Lynn Herring’s hair.
