I was bawling during that scene. It reminded me of a friend’s similar reaction to learning his dad died IRL when I was young. Very raw. But YMMV. Agree that RH was great.

I don’t think she’s nearly as distinctive and characterful as ORK, but I sorta don’t mind NuClaire. She doesn’t rise above the material, but she also doesn’t detract from it IMO. Not great when the material is lacking, though LOL.

I could not disagree more re: William Lipton. It was an ugly cry, yes, but it was absolutely rooted in the emotion of the scene. It felt fully credible as a teenager responding to a terrible loss. Whereas what Wes Ramsey did the other day was... jarring. But that’s why these things are subjective, of course.

They really fùcked up by letting Roger say he was staying on the show. I suppose they were scared his fans would go apesh!t. If they do indeed go there, I’m curious if they’d do a Dante/Sam/Drew/Liz thing then. Sam is still so broken up about Drew’s death.

Soaps have gotten way more conservative in so many different ways. I guess their audience is so old nowadays, but those very people were watching when things were racier.

Agreed. Like I don’t expect them to be like the drugged-out, sexed-up kids from Euphoria, but the Bad News Bears got up to more hijinks than Cam, Joss, and Trina.

The View can trend for Meghan McCain’s silly hairdos, and they want in on the action. CBS Daytime is a disaster across the board.

It IS so weird because it’s such an old white lady, Upper East Side show. Old white ladies on the UES don’t tend to have very diverse friendships. Did someone say that Ramona surprisingly bonded with Eboni, or did I dream that?

I love how masks change a person’s voice and physique. Ain’t that something?

It’s funny: as bad as the other network soaps are, I can single out several performances in recent months on GH and DAYS that have impressed me. Today, William Lipton, Kin Shriner, and Rebecca Herbst rocked it on GH. I cannot say that for the CBS soaps. Maaaybe Mishael when Amanda confronted her mom, but that’s it. But GH and DAYS give their actors opportunities to show their stuff, even if the material isn’t spectacular.

They just want their ratings up by any means necessary. Kinda gross.

What happened? I did not see this. Ok I see it now. Didn’t watch today. Guess they want to be The View.

Rebecca Herbst has been excellent too. I just rewatched that scene, and I liked how how she tried to be strong for Cameron.

And he’ll feel exactly like Todd, if only through emphasizing a certain aspect of Todd’s personality. God, Cameron’s reaction is breaking my heart and I didn’t give a sh!t about Franco. William Lipton is just amazing.

They should have set the confrontation in the steam room! The prettiness is the only distraction from B&B spinning its wheels for a half-hour. There’s a beyond-Tyler Perry-level of repetition and stalling on this show. This detour with Vinny feels pointless, unless Brad’s trying to show that Thomas is a stand-up guy for not capitalizing on Vinny switching the results. Which would make him look like a better romantic prospect in the eyes of Hope, who’s still not over Liam’s betrayal, and cause further angst for her marriage. Which would be... boring. Oh, that fight at the end with the POV shaky-cam shot. Comically bad. (From the grandeur of Sheila/Lauren in the lab on Y&R to this, 30 years later...)

Hilarious that this show is hyping up this Adam/Victoria/Billy stuff like it’s the most intriguing story ever. The stakes are just not there.

I think she’s done good work as Amanda, but yeah, it’s a fail. And the show decided to sideline the one character who finally made her spark: her sister Imani. This show dangles promising developments and rips them away.
